Hello, and welcome to another episode of the drisha said podcast. Today I have a special treat for you. As we dive into a live group, coaching recording. In this session, I helped a client named Sam she's, a web design agency owner who was on the brink of launching her very first group coaching program. Sam was grappling with the fear of niching down and worrying that specializing her messaging might deter potential clients.

She was facing the daunting task of stepping out from behind the scenes where she was comfortable. Having built a successful six figure agency to positioning yourself as a business coach and mentor. The Ray self-coaching exercise that we're going to be leading her through, that you can also use in your own business. You'll hear how Sam worked through her limiting beliefs real time. You'll see how we tackled her fear and enabled her to move forward with confidence.

If you have ever felt the fear of stepping into a new role or offering something new in your business, grab a notebook. This episode is packed with insights and actionable steps that can help you shift your mindset and take focused action. So let's dive in. Mhm.

Speaker

Anytime that you have a thought or a belief that's limiting, this is a way in which you can work through it to shift that belief and to change it into something else. What Sam just did is that I recognize that I have a fear around me going into a new audience or going into a new niche and not knowing like being afraid that, people aren't going to buy Sam, one thing before I go into this is that deadline dancers are very real. And they like to twerk something, drop something on the last day.

Last hour, like it's like when we was in a club back in college and we showed up to the club at one o'clock and no one's about to shut down at two. Why? Just to make the appearance, just to make sure they saw us in there. So deadline dancers are very real. Majority of your calls are going to get booked on the last week of your launch. That is always the case. We normally have maybe.

20 percent of people join right when you first opened doors, 70 or 80 percent of people join at the very end, that's very normal as you continue to do this. And you'll have a compound effect. You'll see that switch where a lot of you guys are getting a ton of people booking calls on your very first call like video, and it's wait a minute. I'm not even finished with my launch yet. Jay, what am I supposed to do? I'm like, take them, enroll them into your program and.

Collect the coins, but that's because that's the benefit of the compound effect. So I just want to make sure that I say that, but anytime you have something, one is you need to first become aware of what the belief actually is. And you did that right now, Sam, you became, you are aware, you articulated that you have that awareness. The second thing is that we need to question and we need to get curious. We need to actually investigate that belief.

And there's four questions that you can ask yourself immediately to be able to question that belief and rewrite it. The first one is it true? And I think that's a really powerful question. Like when we have fears or doubts, the first thing we need to ask ourselves is it true? So like Sam, That fear that you just communicated here. Is it true

Speaker 2

that no one is going to buy it and join this program? Probably not true.

Speaker

So yeah, it's either it's in the second question that we can say sometimes when we're maybe there's ambiguity you said is probably not that wasn't like a strong yes or no, which is okay. Because our brains are smart enough to convince like to argue that the point of but I mean like our brains are smart enough to argue the opposite. But the second thing is can. You absolutely know it's true, in this situation, you cannot absolutely know that will happen. Our feelings are always valid.

We're human beings. We're always going to have them. But I think we need to also making sure that we're making decisions based off the facts and not just the fear. And our feelings and our fear can get, it can paralyze us. All of us have been there. Like it can literally paralyze us. Cause that thought that you have right now, Sam could override everything that you know, to be true and paralyze you from doing anything. And then you could stay stuck and you might stop coming to calls.

You might stop being brave enough to say, Hey guys, I'm struggling with this and just fall back. All because of a thought that wasn't even true. And we don't know if absolutely was true or not. The third question we can ask ourselves is how do we react? Or what happens when we believe that thought and this is like really paying attention to like how you respond, like energetically, a lot of the time, our body will tense up, we'll feel it in our shoulders, we'll feel it in our neck.

We'll feel it in our lower back, or we will actually take action to stop doing things, what I just laid out. Like. Sam, what, how do you react? Or maybe how are you reacting having this fear? What have been some thoughts or some things that you actually have done or not done because of that thought?

Speaker 2

Definitely makes me want to try a bunch of stuff, extra stuff. Oh, maybe I need to make a reel. Maybe I need to send an email to my half non existent email list. You know what I mean? Like maybe I need to do all this extra stuff. I feel like that's where I'm going because I'm like a doing kind of person and I'm like, I can change this outcome. And again I don't even know what the outcome is going to be, but it makes me feel like I want to add. Even though I know that I don't need to.

Speaker

Okay.

Speaker 2

Frantic, like frantic versus like calm, easeful.

Speaker

Yeah. So how do we react in that? And I think the thing is the mind will keep thoughts that keep you enslaved. Our brains are really smart and our brains are designed to keep us safe. And to keep us where we are to keep us comfortable and we have to consciously override those thoughts change those thoughts shift those thoughts if we want to move beyond where we currently are move beyond the current ceiling that we have placed upon ourselves. We have to do that.

That's a choice that we have to make. But the fourth question we need to ask ourselves and becoming again getting aware of is who would you be without the thought. Who would you be without the thought? What if you never felt that thought was true? What if you had never had that thought ever? Who would you be? What would be available for you then? What, how would you react and respond then?

Speaker 2

I definitely think I would show up more or be, I would be able to show up more free and just like in a more like abundant mindset. If I never if I was just like, I'm going to put this out there and people are going to buy it because it's awesome. That would be like the flip of this fear, right? Because my fear is that people write that down.

Speaker

So you just you just did the thing. So first thing is like, what is the limiting disempowering thought? And then what's the new thought that I'm going to rewrite?

Speaker 2

Oh yeah.

Speaker

You just rewrote it. And it's done. Thought is rewritten, right? It's that's the, I don't even know what I mean. I just made that up, but we, that's what it is, right? That's what I'm going to be thinking. We have rewritten it. And then the fifth question is what would be the first action you take if that thought didn't exist? What? Would be the first action you take if that thought didn't exist.

Speaker 2

Okay, I'm going to answer this because I actually think that the first action would be inaction. I would let myself do the process. And like when I feel that need to do more and go create all these extra things, like check in with myself and say, is this coming from a fear based place? Or is this coming from a place of I just want to create this content. And then not do the frantic y things and just, Be open to the fact that the abundance is coming, right?

Speaker

Ooh, that's so good. I just got chills. That was very powerful. And the third step of the framework is to rewrite the truth. I rewrite the thought you did that. Like you, you said that just a couple of seconds ago. And then the last thing is just declare it. And that was a whole swallow moment. That was really powerful, Sam.

Mhm. Wow. Okay. What an incredible session. Let's do a quick recap. We walked through a powerful self-coaching exercise that helped Sam confront and shift her limiting beliefs about niching down in launching her new offer. So here are the key takeaways from today's episode, first and foremost awareness. The first step is to recognize and articulate the limiting belief. Sam identified her fear of niching down in the worry that people wouldn't buy her program. Number two question. The belief.

We questioned the belief with powerful questions. Like, is this even true? And can you absolutely know it's true. This helps differentiate between the fear and the feelings that are coming up for you and the facts of the situation. Three is the impact of the belief. We explored how holding onto this belief was impacting Sam, causing her to take frantic unfocused action, and ultimately keeping herself busy, doing unnecessary work. For rewrite the thought.

Sam rewrote her disempowering thought into an empowering one. Shifting her mindset from fear to possibility and abundance. Five. Is what is your first action? We identified the first action Sam would take if the limiting belief didn't exist, which for her was actually about allowing herself to pause and act from a place of abundance and not fear. Six is declare the new belief. Finally, Sam declared her new empowering belief, reinforcing her commitment to her new mindset.

This exercise shows how quickly and effectively we can shift our mindset. When we take the time to get curious and challenging our limiting beliefs. I hope this exercise helps you return home to yourself and restore your sense of self-trust. This framework can guide you in discerning between your fears. And your intuition. Once we get a grip on our mindset, we can stick to the strategy at hand and commit to focused execution. And that's, what's going to allow you to move forward faster.

When you are in seasons of overwhelm and feeling as if you are just so busy in your business. What I have recognized a lot of the time from coaching clients and even self coaching myself, is that I am busy worrying, not actually doing actions that are going to lead to the outcomes that I want. And when I can use a framework or a practice like this, to help me quiet my inner critic. And really navigate through myself, talk and get me to a place that's more empowered.

Get me to a neutral mental state. It really creates so much spaciousness in my calendar and so much spaciousness in my mind. Thank you for tuning into this episode.
