James Dooley: If you are a fencing contractor looking for more work and a consistent flow of enquiries, then this video is for you. Myself and Kasra have worked with a variety of fencing contractors across the UK, so we know exactly what works from a marketing point of view and what you should be avoiding as well. James Dooley: Step number one, what I would be looking to do to grow is a Google Business Profile. If you already have one, I would reach out to all of my existing clients and get as many five star reviews as possible. It is a great way for a Google Business Profile to generate more leads. You should also get citations, publish posts and upload photos. That is always step one for generating more local leads. Kasra Dash: Step number two is to bolster your Google Business Profile with dedicated service pages. I would create SEO optimised pages on your website for each individual fencing service. Doing this helps those pages rank and also increases the chances of your Google Business Profile appearing for those keywords, which indirectly brings in more phone calls. James Dooley: If you want more local leads, PPC lead generation is another option. This is pay per click within Google or Bing where you target bottom of the funnel keywords to generate enquiries. You must work with a good PPC agency because there is click fraud and you need a strong negative keyword list so you do not waste money on irrelevant searches such as jobs and careers. PPC can work well but in the wrong hands you can waste a lot of money. Kasra Dash: You also have Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram. When someone is scrolling, they might see your ad. You can run lead form campaigns which keep the user on Facebook. These are easy to set up but the quality can be mixed unless you add qualifying questions. You can also run conversion ads that send people to your website to complete your contact form. Both options work depending on your goals. James Dooley: Another way to grow local fencing leads is organic social media. Posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram helps visibility. Reddit and Quora are also strong platforms if you answer questions. Organic social is a great long term way to generate leads. Kasra Dash: Organic social is a volume game. You must upload consistently. It could be a daily or weekly schedule, such as committing to five videos per week. Consistency helps with algorithms on YouTube, Twitter and other platforms. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on using AI agents with tools like n8n to automate and schedule posts on social media? A lot of companies want to leverage AI for generating more leads. Would you work with an AI consultant to set that up? Kasra Dash: Businesses can set up AI agents that crop videos and autopublish to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. But I would also focus on AI search. People are slowly starting to search using ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. If your brand is not showing up in these AI engines, you will struggle to get enquiries from them. AI search is something every business now needs to optimise for. James Dooley: If you want more business leads in the local area, you can also use tradespeople websites. Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader and Rated People can all generate fencing leads. You must track KPIs such as cost per lead, cost per acquisition and ROI. We have comparison videos on the channel for all these platforms. Kasra Dash: With lead generation companies, you must do your due diligence. Make sure the company has generated leads in your industry before. Have a strategy call with them to align KPIs and budgets. Check whether the leads are exclusive to you or shared, because many platforms like Bark and Checkatrade sell shared leads. That becomes a race to the bottom on price and it is one of the biggest complaints we hear from contractors. James Dooley: If anyone wants more local leads, head to FatRank.com. We run a commission based lead generation service. You only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs. There is no cost per lead. You pay nothing until the job is completed and you have been paid. Only then do you pay FatRank. James Dooley: Kasra, what are your thoughts on inbound versus outbound lead generation? Kasra Dash: Inbound always performs better. The conversion rate of inbound leads turning into paying customers is much higher. The last figure I saw was 16.1 percent for inbound compared with 1.4 percent for outbound. Outbound requires far more volume and far more staff. People assume outbound leads are free, but email sending, time and sales labour all cost money. James Dooley: Another question we get is about real time leads. Is it important for leads to come through instantly? Kasra Dash: It is extremely important. The last internal data we saw showed that responding to real time leads increases conversion rates by around 63 percent. Originally we thought responding within five minutes was good, but responding within one minute significantly increases conversions. James Dooley: Many businesses fall short because they are away or have no one to answer enquiries. This is something we look at when partnering with companies. Kasra Dash: Anyone looking to scale and secure a consistent flow of high quality leads should fill out the form at FatRank. The team will tell you if you are the right fit and will also give feedback if you are not. James Dooley: If you are a fencing contractor looking for more fencing leads, head over to FatRank.com and hopefully we can start generating more enquiries for your business.
