[00:00:00] Welcome back to incite the click, your creator economy podcast. Michelle here with five on Friday, breaking down influencer industry news in under five minutes. Let's jump in.

Over the past week and a half Instagram has released quite a few updates. We detailed a couple of these in our TLDR daily sub stack newsletter, but want to holistically explain here?

Update one. Instagram is testing the ability to toggle to a verified only feed. Instagram verification benefits are a bit dicey. There's still questions around if it's actually worth it to pay for the blue check mark, but this would definitely be an incentive to pay up.

Update number two. Instagram has also testing, putting poles in post comments to appear in feed. Instagram is currently favoring DMS. And there are a lot of capabilities in stories, both of which are less visible to [00:01:00] people that use the platform. Instagram is likely trying to bring people out of those behind the scenes interactions and into places that have more longevity. And visibility.

Last thing. On Wednesday. The platform announced the ability to take selfie videos and put them in notes as well as put a looping video in notes, profile photos. Notes is not utilized very often. So it'll be interesting to see if this does increase usage. You can follow the Instagram updates, broadcast channel. For literally all of this information. Or you can just subscribe to our sub stack and podcasts and we'll break everything down for you as these announcements happen.

Next up apple has officially rolled out their pay later feature to everyone. This timing is critical going into holiday. And if your audience uses apple Look at your analytics for operating [00:02:00] system, it will be iOS. Let your audience know of this option on bigger purchase posts or on retailers that allow apple pay because they can break the payment down into multiple instances. It makes payment a little less daunting and will likely increase conversion for big ticket items for you.

Next thing. Farfetch has gone in the Greenlight to purchase a stake in competitor. Yoox Net-a-Porter. This would have big implications in the luxury market though. The deal is not final yet. Um, Farfetch has been having some financial issues this year. It stock is down 90% from two years ago. We're keeping an eye out on what happens here and we'll update you all when we know more, because this could be pretty big.

A new study has indicated about half of gen Z plans to buy from social this holiday season. No surprise there, but even more reason [00:03:00] to lean in. And if you have any gen Z in your audience, lean into products and brands that they prefer.

Finally the Sephora sale is starting today for Rouge members and goes through November six. Ulta's also having deals through mid-November ahead of black Friday and cyber Monday. Happy linking.

That's a wrap on five on friday subscribed to our substack for daily industry updates just like this delivered straight to your inbox have a good weekend and talk to you all in our tuesday industry deep dive see you later bye
