[00:00:00] Hello. And welcome back to inside the click, your creator economy podcast. Michelle here with your five on Friday. That's five things to know about the influencer industry from this past week in under five minutes.
First thing. If you miss getting paid from Instagram's reels bonus program. That literally paid you for real views. You may be in luck. Adam Mozaffari head of the platform, hinted that it may be coming back after getting a question at Instagram university a few days ago. This news is only on business insider, so we need to corroborate it with some other sources. Before getting too excited, but I'll put the link to the article in the show notes so you can check it out.
Spotify is going to be testing AI, to translate podcasters voices into different languages, which could be a game changer. Using open AI chat GPT, the platform has started translating some podcasts from [00:01:00] celebrity hosts, such as dax shepherd, Lex Friedman and bill Simmons. And it's able to create realistic synthetic voices from just a few seconds of speech. It's also able to maintain distinctive speech, characteristics of podcasters. So they sound like real people.
Third thing, Reddit published a new report partnering with the British film Institute. So this was done in the UK. Showcasing how the platform fosters discovery and conversation for TV and film fans. Well, Reddit does have a smaller user base than Facebook or Instagram. Those users are highly engaged. We've talked about the platform quite a bit recently with beauty brands getting in on some of this highly invested audience. If you're not on Reddit, check it out because the space is growing amongst brands and you could probably land some pretty good brand deals. [00:02:00] If you start to build your influence there.
Cirque de Solei is launching their own influencer network with the hopes of growing beyond live shows. They will be pairing their 1500 performers stage technicians and creatives with brands. It goes to show where things are evolving in the performing arts space and how they can branch into this growing industry. So what industry do you think will be next to try to leverage influencers? I don't know. We'll have to see.
Last thing. Amazon's early read on prime day, says it's Al pasting last years, but they chose to talk about items purchased rather than sales data. So not sure what has really happened yet. The stat they're sharing is prime members ordered more than 150 million items from [00:03:00] third-party sellers this year. That is up from a hundred million items last year. Members this year tend to lean more heavily towards purchasing everyday items such as batteries. And less big ticket items such as TVs. So going back to what they shared.
I'm predicting sales are down because you couldn't buy five packs of batteries for far less than a single TV. We're going to be keeping an eye open for sure. On the final numbers. Once Amazon shares them.
And that's your five on Friday for this week. Our hearts go out to everyone. That's been impacted by the events going on in the world right now.
Have a great weekend, everybody. And we will talk to you soon. Subscribe rate review It seriously helps so much we hope to get a lot more reviews so we can keep growing Thanks everyone Bye[00:04:00]
