Episode description

Celebrating Black Women Inventors

Happy Black History Month! This month, we are honoring the incredible contributions of Black women inventors whose groundbreaking work has shaped the modern world. Every day in America is a testament to Black history, and today, we highlight the trailblazing women who have made our lives more convenient, secure, and connected.

The Innovators: Lisa Gelobter, Katherine Johnson, Dr. Mae Jemison, Bessie Blount, Alice Parker, Marie Van Brittan Brown and Marian Croak.

These women, among many others, faced significant obstacles, including systemic racism and resistance to their ideas. Despite these challenges, they persevered and succeeded, leaving a lasting impact on the world.

Continuing the Legacy:

As we celebrate these remarkable women, let their stories inspire us to support and encourage the next generation of Black women innovators. Their legacies remind us that innovation knows no boundaries and that with determination and creativity, we can overcome any obstacle. Let us continue to honor and uplift their contributions, not just this month, but every day.
