I am all in, kiss you, I am all in with Scott Patterson and I heart radio podcast. Okay, here everybody, Scott Patterson, I am all in podcast. Scott, Why so down? What's going on? Right? Can you feel it? Yeah? I think I'm Are you sad? Yeah, I'm going away, So I'm a little sad. Wait, they're sending me up the river, Amy, they got me this time where I'm going to sing, sing for a long stretch Rikers whenever I watch sp and you're like, oh no, we don't. You don't want

to go to Rikers. I'm to take the pick axe to the rock pile for a number of decades. Just you sad. Well, I'm gonna go away to the well. You know, I'm gonna I'm gonna leave for five days, four days. He just got very sad. Yes, bad, I get because now you're back. But yeah, five days compared to what you already did. Yeah, but you did just get back. So I just I've only been back a month and I'm going well, not even a month yet, And so he thinks it's a long I said, listen,

it's just on Thursday too. I'll be back Monday, you know, And you got Halloween. Did you get to do trick or treating? Oh man, that was rock star trick or treating. We went to an area out here that does it up like it's a it's a music festival. It's unbelievable. Um and he had a great time. He got overwhelmed. I mean it like that we did. You missed it for Halloween. But there's this super rad thing where you go on walking tour and they create all these lights.

So they do it for Halloween and then they're doing it for the holidays. It's called Holiday Road. You need to go. I'm telling you your kid will like it. Where is it up there in San Francisco? No, No, No, in l are Yea in Calabasas. Yeah, really really really at some some random like I don't even know what it is, but horse thing. It's a ranch. It's where they do they do Night of the Jacks for holliween, I think that we've been there once for something good. Yes,

they red night. It's like Halloween's like Night of the Jacks, and for holidays they do that. They actually have horses there, they have cows, they have all you know. We we've been. Yeah, it's like some kind of ranch. It's Gillette Ranch. Do you know where they filmed? Really random fact they filmed The Biggest Loser there for like the whole the whole time. You know so much about Gillette Ranch because it's it's

really close to where I live. And when I was an intern, I had went on the set of Biggest Loser. That's fine, yeah, but they do a big They do a big I mean, I've never seen a Halloween. Like the whole neighborhood was just like every neighbor had massive displays and it was shocking. It was actually really cool. They had a dance floor, they had oh my god, I mean, like the cops everywhere directing traffic and directing foot traffic. I mean it was it was mayhem. It

was just it's Hollywood. It's like for people, but it wasn't. But we're outside of Hollywood, so Hollywood and he really did it up here? God wow? Yeah. Hit um in Santa Monica seventeen. I think it's seventeen. It might be sixteen, but like sixteen and Santa Sunny Go this year. Everybody listening next year, Um, well here we are here, everybody, We're back. Amy shert Amy I was just about to say, Miss Sherman Palladino, but she's not. She's not sitting in

for the session. Sometimes what I see the compliments on Instagram and they say, Amy, I think that's funny. That's not that Amy momentary Hope then reality, Daniel Romo, Tara sued Welcome, Amy Sugarman. Um So this is a festival of living art. Who's gonna sit upside? I got you so. Air date is November four, two thousand three, when Stars Hollow puts on the Festival of Living Pictures, an event in which the townspeople stage famous paintings. Rory appears in

Portrait of a young girl named Antia. Laura la plays the beauty in the Dance at Booga bal while Kirk is Jesus in the Last Supper. Meanwhile, Suki panics about going past delivery date, and Laura like calms her down with stories of the night Rory was born. Nicole tells Luke she wants to hold off on a divorce and give their relationship a chance. And Lane finds a great guitarist, but he's a bit older than everyone else on the band.

It's so much, it's too much for me. It's too much between Nicole, Sebastian Bach and the make up any way and the baby the page too much to break down this episode. It's a lot, there was a lot going on. Give us your over review before we start. We'll going over to give me your like overview. What did you think, Scott? I thought it was I I thought it was one of the best episodes that they produced so far. I mean, it was just kind of firing on all cylinders. And I noticed it was no

Richard and Emily. There was no mother daughter tension, negative tension, and it you know, all of the all of the humor and the tension came from the Kirk Jesus stuff and the Jujas thing which was hysterical, and and um the Taylor stuff. And I really like, you know, I love seeing the town people come together to do something for a common goal and do what they did it very well. And it was just it was just like everybody in you know, all of all of the cast

was I think doing some of their best work. Um, like everybody like Lane and and and so top notch. And she looked amazing. It was a great debut for Sebastian Bach. I thought he came off really well, really appealing character and great situations and um the jokes that's where the band is talking about how he's old. It was so funny, like it was, every single one of those guys played it so well. And yes, Sebastian Bach was genius casting like genius. It was. It was. It

was a really entertaining episode. I mean I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed. I mean it was just a very pleasant atmosphere atmospheric. I mean, if I were to have something in the background at all times, if I were to choose an episode of what we've seen so far, that would be the one because it was just I just wanted to be around these people. This shows you the strength of the show because you want to be around, you want to spend time with all

of these characters. You know, Luke in this episode, maybe not so much. He was like a cute It's a little prickly, I thought. I thought, a little kind of a little insane over the top, you know. I kind of liked it when you're standing by that scarecrow about they're going to ask me, and then in the cool scene, I thought you were great. It was a big deal. So they asked you. So they want you to be ag and it's Taylor and he doesn't want to help Taylor.

I get that, but it's like, now, for those of us of a certain age, Sebastian Bach was like he was sort of like a cross between John bon Jovi and Harry Styles. Like he was definitely like girls swounded for that dude. Really he was rocker. So he wasn't as much like teena idoly, but teens that was that was that was metal, that was like hair bands. Yeah, But when I was in high school, girls were like, I love Sebastian Bok. That was like a thing. Right.

So when I was when I was growing up, it was all, you know, because I'm the oldest one here. It was all Zeppelin and the Who and you know that kind of right right right, And then when these hair bands came along, I mean that's what he looked like. When these hair bands came along, we were like, nah, sorry, right, I mean we rejected everybody would like kiss or anybody like that, like you're wearing makeup really like just play

good music, you know, And we didn't understand it. So and to this day, I don't understand, to be honest, with you. But I know they were hugely popular, but I really wasn't listening to rock music at that point anyway. So I just had a really weird moment because I was googling Sebastian Box. I didn't realize you didn't get the well. I started googling and then I see this thing. Did Sebastian Box have a stroke? And I was like, oh no, thinking it was Gilmore Girls Sebastian Box, but

it was then I see in set nine. I mean, but that goes along with the narrative. He's really old, but we didn't mean like vampire old in the Gilmore was wrong guy. But yeah, for some reason, I thought gil comes in later. So when I saw him, I was like, oh, he comes in this soon in the season. I don't know why. I thought we have some time. It's goods. It was good fresh new blood coming in like that, and they had to bring it after Adam Brody.

They couldn't replace him with someone like Adam Brody. And they sure went yeah, oh, bra yeah, let's go on order. Let's uh, let's see how that feels. So we start with Lord la Is hiding the coupons and Rory brings home her dirty laundry and then picks, No, Scott, have you clipped a coupon? We still do it? Do? I remember my mom used to get like the little not brochures, but like the newsletters and the mail. And I used to just like I thought it was fun. I mean,

did you ever take him to the store? Did you take him to the store and actually use them? Not that I can ever recall it, but I don't, like, are you kidding? One dollar off Jello? Let's get it before before gilmore? Are you kidding me? I have my back pocket was filled with am I going there? And like, hang on, I think I got that one. Have you ever seen those? Like the coupon lady at the grocery store and she has like a cartful and she pays like two dollars. Yeah, but she's standing there for like

an hour. Like, but if they don't want that, don't send out the coupons. I mean people are gonna use, you know, like the one that everyone uses is the bed, bath and bed. It was just about like a big golden ticket, you know. And we still get him in the mail. I have those things like stacked up for when they were going to bed and beyond okay, So then we know that we've got some some band drama because Lane just comes in and sticks her head in this.

I love that scene. Is there anything funnier than bad poetry or bad guitar playing? I mean, it really is a good backdrop for that scene. It's like just trying to get through the coupon scene. What the horrible lead guitar playing is? It was good. The only thing to be more special than the clown pillow though, is that random lady in the corner of the kitchen. Can someone please please find the screenshots? It might be a cookie jar. It's like a granny ceramic granny in the corner of

the kitchen, and I need it. You know, my crack staff may have unearthed this for you. Should we wait till the end of this just we will know we're gonna wait. And they are real people. And let me tell you something. You guys made fun of them and they called me. That's because they do exist. And I got it and I got an earful, I got a near ful. Can't call you, I got a nerful. Let me tell you. Let's keep it going because they don't

except they do. It's Scott maybe it's like Scott on a laptop going and you're gonna and you're gonna meet him at you know what, oh, you know what that we aren't revealing to like December one, correct? I like it? Okay? Well, then hello nick Offerman, Hello nick Offerman. Who was good? But nick Offerman is so genius. I feel like they could have used him even more. That was the role. But he wasn't nick Offerman yet, was he right? He

was just nick Offerman. So nick Offerman is Megan Mollali's husband. And then also Parks and Wreck? Is that right? Parks and Wreck? Yeah? So okay, So we are learning about the baby and the midwife. Uh, good stuff, funny stuff the midwife, Bruce, very funny stuff. I'm sensing some negative energy in the room. Laura was funny in that episode and that she was really funny. I will bring this up throughout because I do have the support of the fans.

Laura Laura Lee almost said Laura and lor Lae. Her fashion in this episode is literally ten out of ten. It is so epic with the T shirt turned inside out, Yeah, the T shirt with a T shirt under It's like she's got the and then she's got this jacket that I would almost call like a bomber style maybe like a bomber style light with the colors on the sleeves.

I mean, I like that jacket that was very like two thousands of her obviously in the two thousands, but like the long sleeve under the short sleeves, like I want to bring it back. I feel like it kind of I feel I've seen girls wear like T shirts under like like dresses, dresses. That's like a thing now that's bringing back like the nineties. But Scott Luke does that T shirt under the T shirt, you know, the

long sleeved, like the thermal under the T shirt. She was kind of rocking another version of that, and I give it a thumbs uh yeah, let's vote. Oh yeah, yeah yeah nice good. Okay. So then Scott, I don't know why you weren't there, But it's the town meeting, the emergency town meeting. Yeah, why wasn't Luke there? Were there? Um, I don't know. Maybe I may have lobbied to no longer be town meetings because they didn't want to be in them anymore because they were too they took too

long to shooting and it was too hot. In there, but I think they did it. I know it was season four, so I don't know. I don't know. Maybe you're supposed to just be at the diner doing something. Yeah, yeah, I think that's how I. I pitched it to Amy and Dan, like, do I have to be in these things? No? Is that real? Do you think you actually intentionally weren't in there? Yeah? I mean I didn't want to be in them, and I voiced that that's so good because

Luke doesn't want to go. Scott didn't want to go either. I think my joke is that Scott is Luke and Lucas Scott. Let me tell you something. Luke called me and said, why do we have to be in these cockam there? There's no reason for I'm gonna call him and Dan. Let's see what I can do. But the joke that couldn't have gone on longer. That was funny. Every time my girlfriend, my girlfriend, it's right behind my girlfriend? Did you see my girlfriend? Let me it's just over

the shoulder of my girlfriend. Like, that's my favorite line, is the girlfriend the many Oh, my girlfriend, Lane, there's a seat right behind me, behind my girlfriend, Like literally, like it's so many girlfriends so I think someone like, is it hot here? My girlfriend's a little And it was so going on so long, but yet it was funny every single time, and she didn't mind. Like if I was the girlfriend, I would have been like, you

need to stop. Lulu was living for it. Yeah, um okay whatever, but whatever else say about the town hall was hysterical. The woman what was her name, her name was, last name was Otis. What was her first name? Mrs van Upty, Yeah, Mrs so Good. I just loved when he goes so Taylor. Taylor comes out and says, talks about Hank and he goes he's the Taylor Dosy of wood Bear. Yeah, you're like, oh, now I have a perfect pictures. Was this the first time they really talked

about Woodberry? I can't remember. No, No, they mentioned it from time. It was just like very Woodberry heavy this episode. I'm like, I kind of wish we like saw Woodberry. What about what about the episode where the celebrities they were doing a movie and Woodburry and this all the celebrities there. Taylor was pot about that and why can't we get celebrities to stay here? Have we gotten? I don't think we've gotten there yet yet I think they

stay at Scott. What like the fact that you have like a yeah, that's the most random one sucking Scott's like remember Woodbury? Well, the reason is this because where I grew up, there was a town a couple of towns away named Woodbury. So stuck with me. Yeah, I feel like there's a town in Walking Dead called Woodberry. That's scary. Woodberry is very common. Shout out to eye Lean Woodberry. That works for our heart. Shout out to Woodbury,

New Jersey and the Colonial conference gold berries. I don't know. You're eating too much Halloween candy, I think, I think, so, why is this divorce still going on? Scott? You've got lawyers? Forgot that, like this was happening. When she came back, I was like, wait, this isn't done yet, Like I forgot. It's like Brad and Angelina is Nicole and Luke? Like what is going on? I don't know that. To me,

it didn't fit in the episode at all. You know, you thought it was like bit more jarring, Like what's it? I don't I didn't like in this specific episode. Is that what you mean? Yeah? I could see that. I kind of loved it. Yeah, I like some drama in Luke's life, Like I like to see how he handles it. It's interesting, interesting perspective. I don't know. I thought she

said something. I don't I can't remember the exact line, but I felt like Nicole comes back and she said something like who doesn't want to see us try again? Or something? And I was like, I don't, thanks you. I mean, let's be honest, Yeah, I've done. Were you excited to see her return? Me personally the character or me the actor? You Scott the human. I always like to working with Trish. Yeah, she's great. No, but okay, were you excited as Scott to see Nicole come back

for Luke tell the truth? Um? I don't know that I had an opinion at the time. I don't know that I cared. I was like, oh, we'll do this thing now, okay, and what about now? Like I said, I just didn't think it was needed. I think it's like like, like you know, we're beating that horse to death. It's like, jeez, let it go factory for God's I kind of liked it, but it's the same story again as as Luke's previous girlfriend. For the life of me, cannot name right now the photographer, Yeah, the one that

traveled the world Rachel. So it's just just different name because it's the same thing. They leave, they come back. I think it's like, you know, maybe they just they have this need in the writer's room, let's write this really unbelievably great episode that's used Luke to piss the audience off with this like who doing who? I just agree, like I like something to get angry about. I don't know,

does it piss me off? But now that I'm thinking about it, and I don't mean to get like, let's get into therapy, but why does Luke like women that kind of jerk him around? Right? And not for real? It's the same storyline. And Nicole, you literally went on a boat with this guy. You got divorced, you told him you don't want to be married, you're getting divorced with your eight seven lawyers, and now you're coming back for him, and he's going to do it. I think

he should go. No, Nicole, that ship has sailed, you know, because he likes ladies that kind of I don't know, give him a run for his money. But he's obsessed with Laurel. He correct the ultimate woman who jerks him around her hold on. Maybe that's why, because maybe he knows it's not actually gonna last with these these girls that he's just like it's okay if they go away because hearts really not. Wow, he's therapy right there there there, Dr Daniel, that's that's going to be a hell of

a bill. Um Yeah, sugarman, psychiatric house. Let's just build you uh strong showing for Andrew this episode, and he had one of the big moments as uh in the gazebo spinning or he got one spin around, he got one turn. I mean, I want to get through it because I have literally so many questions about the frozen art that I just yeah, that's rocket man, quick shout out to Lorealize Vest also freaking adorbs puffer Vest like crushing the fashion. Okay, so we are at the we

find out lore Lie flinched. Now what does that mean? I know you probably blinked, Like remember how she had to stand so still, like I think like the year before she like moved like like yeah, seven years prior seven years prior seven years prior she flinched. She almost knocked over somebody, So it must have been more than a blink. She probably moved an arm, hit the hit the guy she was posing within the same monet painting, right, it was that what it was. It was the same guy.

It was the same same situation, same painting, same makeup, saying everything seven years before and now, let's not knock him over, almost knock him over seven years ago, Let's not knock him over this time. So yeah, so I did notice. And I can't remember if this was already when they were in the laundry room or the scene right before when she finds out she didn't get the part. Yeah, it was the scene right before the laundr room where

she doesn't get the part. You really see her pager, and I thought, now, that is weird that they're making that page are so prominent. And I know why because it becomes so important at the end. But I did really notice. I was like, man, who's wearing their page or just like in their front pockets? So obviously right the baby pager? Oh yeah, oh yeah, I like that. Kirk got he was christ of the last time. It was like two people for me, two people stole this episode.

It was Suki and it was Kirk. Kirk. Kirk just crushed it as Jesus. I mean it was just so great, just so great, and then uh Suki with the monologue and Loreliz's house, It won't it won't come out, It won't come out. And she's bouncing up and down hysterical. What are you laughing at him? Just like here's the thing, the whole thing. I don't know. Okay, do we want to talk about the r or Sebastian Bach a little bit more? First let's talk about the art. Okay, How

in God's name did they do that? Meaning the makeup and then the frozen nous. I think the makeup was the hard part. Yeah, I mean to make it look that was extraordinary. It was just extraordinary. Um and I know that. I know they spent hours and hours and then the call times for four am and three am really early to get people in early to do all the makeup. Yeah, were you happy you didn't have to

do that? You have no idea? And and and Luke never would have And Luke called me again and said, listen, talk to me and Dan, we don't want to be involved in this stuff. It was it was also so cool, like I think it was like Rory, like you could see the shading on like one side of a face of the way. I was like, the detail of that

makeup is crazy. Now I don't want uh, I don't want to ruin perfection, but I need everybody to do me a favor and go back to Rory in her painting and tell me that you can't see the pinky. Didn't see anybody flinching? Yes? Really was she? Here's how I know. I thought it was fake. I was like, maybe they just did paintings and these aren't really the actors frozen right, It's kind of just like this saw little thistle. This is going on. Can everybody rewatch it?

To rewatch it? Otherwise? That was insane? How do you stay frozen like that? Could you do that? Yeah? I thought, what's the big deal? You stay frozen so for thirty seconds? Big deal? So on seconds? It was like me, No, it wasn't. They weren't stay seconds at the most. Amy, I'm already gonna fail. We're doing it. We're doing it right now. Yeah, but wait, I need to put on a little lip glass in case this sends up on Instagram.

But it has to be. It has to be an action thing where somebody else freeze in the middle of what we're talking about. We have to be very animated and then yell freeze. Okay, okay, okay, okay, who's gotta stop watching? Can somebody that's behind the scene, behind the scenes, have a stop watch for thirties? Okay, thank you, Hannah. Okay, she's got us. Okay, ready, so we're so we're talking right, Okay, everybody, come on, get your hands going. Come on, everybody, who's

gonna yell freeze? Who's gonna yell freeze? Okay? Come on, Amy, get going, get going, get the hands going. Freeze. It's not Scott was number one. I'm coming out one more time. Ready, everybody, I'm gonna try and do it this. Yeah, come on, take it seriously. This is serious stuff. Come on, let's call there's time for funny games, there's time to get serious. This is one of those times. Ready, what's that elbow on the table that's trying to pose? What do we do?

But your arms have to be in the air somehow to make it somewhat lenge my arms. Get tired of pretend you're carrying like fish from the river to the to the village. What is this? Peace signs? What's going on. I'm carrying fish. I'm carrying fishy, don't do that? Carry fish? No, I like that, Carrie fish, Danielle. Wait, when do we freeze? Do I didn't say freeze? Keep going, just trying to help you with the photoshopping, Scott one. No, but my

finger was moving the whole time. I was like, I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't get my fingers directly at Amy's space. I was trying. I'll tar I was doing so good seconds the first is worried about people. We are going to photoshop and good. I'll tell you something. You know, it's very difficult. You know what I'm very bad at. I'm very bad at playing dead? Oh every single time. No, I can't do it. I keep breathing. My stomach keeps going up and down and up, and I can't do it.

I can't hold my breath when I'm supposed to be dead. Did you get killed in saw? Yeah? How are you murdering? Walls smashed me so I didn't have to worry. I didn't have to worry about have to worry about my stomach anymore. Yeah, that's that's what they do on So if you if you're going to get too much money on the next movie, they kill you, I'm gonna google youtually.

I feel like I could pose if I was like in a scene like that, but here I'm just like looking at you guys, like, you know, it's harder because I'm gonna laugh. It's harder. You can't do it here, Tara, Well, not an actor for a reason, it's hard. Which was your favorite, guys of the of the Living? The Last Supper? Oh? Absolutely, the Last Yeah, that was good, even were arguing the

whole time before and after too. Yeah. But all of those positions that they were in were so specific, you know, and yeah, and it looks so powerful, and they all had to nail it because think about it, like, so for Rory's it's just her, so they could have shot her. I don't know, they shoot her for half an hour,

they're gonna get it. Those dudes, all of them had to nail it for can you imagine the rehearsal and they have the paint you know, they have the the Da Vinci painting, and they're like, you know, not to get in the perfect Charlie, your fingers a little too higher. I mean that must have taken hours. It must have taken like a whole day rehearsal just to nail that thing. And like that that shot when they like zoomed out, like seeing the whole thing was so beautiful too. It's

so perfect. That was a stunning episode. It really, it was stunning. You don't see like this show at its best. It's like it gives you stuff that you've never seen before. Have you ever seen anything like that on television? Have you ever ever seen anything like that on television? No, I'm trying to think it's so unique. That episode was so unique. I really can't think of anything to even compare it to. Uh, really no, there isn't anything. I mean,

I'm sure there's something, but it escapes us. But that was truly truly original TELEVI and I thought, can we go back to my favorite scene of this whole I'm sorry, Amy, we wouldn't have time. We're running out of time. Ahead, go ahead. He dontly reminded me of Jimmy Kimmel when he's like, apologies to Matt Damon. Let me. I don't have the whole script, but man, if somebody could look it up for me, I wouldn't be so stoked. So it's Sebastian Bach and they're like, this is the gist,

so give me the full thing. I need to hear the whole. Like he's old, like grandpa old. He's forty. It was before man walked on the moon. He remembers the bi centennial. There weren't CDs. He's elderly. And then they say something like yeah to offset his oldness, and then like something about like we'll call him when he's back at Bingo, like he wrote this is beyond. Do you want me to read it to you? Yes, Scott? Can we? I personally think that person you think this

is the weakest part of the episode. Yeah, the ages and stuff that I didn't find it funny at all. Stop it out. I sorry, mh, Scott. You got a guy there who knows how to rock, and all they can do is focus on age. I thought it was stupid. Oh my god, I literally loved it. So maybe I'm just a bad persons. I'm sure no. Should should Danielle read it? Or should we? Danielle? You just read the whole thing, the whole thing. I just read the whole thing. The funny, the funny. I need somebody to be the

other person. I'm not going to be any of those people. I'll be it. I'll be I'll be it. Okay, so um, i'll be sorry. You want to be Brian and I'll be Zack. Sure, okay, um starting at the top. Yeah, forty. He was alive before man walked on the moon. Don't do that, man, You're freaking me out. Let's not be over dramatic, guys. I mean he's an incredible guitar rest He's had a lot of time to practice, and the bi centennial he was alive for that. This is the

best we sounded since Dave. And he's really elder excited. He was our age when we were born. He thinks we're great. There were no CDs when he was born. Stuffing, man, I mean it. Maybe there's a way to like offset his oldness. Put a hat on him, dress him up like Angus young and a C d C. That's school by Olphen. He could have seen a C d C with the original lead singer. When that guy choked on his own vomit, that's old. You want to stop the audition.

We shouldn't be rude, all right, don't keep going, but remember any remember us to be approved by all of us and one vote against, and he's back in big shoot. Oh my god, can we do a poll if that was the funniest for Oh jeez, you sounded so young. I loved it. Let's do a pull between who everyone listening. They're gonna vote whether they think that was funny or

not funny. Hi, it's Bethany Frankel. My time on The Wheelhousewives of New York is a few years behind me, and now I'm ready to put the wheel back into the real Housewives. That's where my new podcast, Rewives comes in. This isn't your typical rewatch podcast. I'm watching only the most iconic episodes from all cities. I'm sharing never before heard stories of what happened behind the scenes. And I'm not just pulling in cast members for postgame analysis. I'm

doing something a little bit more interesting. If you've ever seen an episode of The Wheelhousewives, you know the drill. But beyond throwing drinks and leg there are lessons about marriage, divorce, friendship, money, parenting, and fame if you have the right minds analyzing dig deeper. So I'm bringing on unexpected thought leaders and celebrities to get their take on the chaos this season, I sit down with Elizabeth Moss, Kevin Neal and Susie Orman, Griffin

Johnson and more. You think that there isn't much to learn from flipping tables and yanking wigs, but that's where you're wrong. Listen to Rewives with Bethany Frankel on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcast for wherever you get your favorite podcasts. Well, okay, let's talk about Suki and that baby being stuck in there. That was a funny scene. That's Melissa McCarthy at her best. That was a That was a tremendous scene. She was hysterically funny in that monologue,

in that scene in Laurelized House. It was just I watched it three times. I just kept laughing and laughing. She's she's remarkable, she really, she's those ship's too big. The ship's too big. What it's how she physicalizes everything with her hands and arms and everything. It's just it's very, very funny. She's very funny. Did anyone think when she said she wants booze that she said something else? When she said that she wants booze? I was like, did

she you know what bothers me. Okay, I'll I just it just hit me, you know what bothers me about the old stuff. I want to see better performances. I think the dialogue is funny. I think it's written funny, but I don't think it was performed well. Now you because now I'm you know, the dialogue is great throughout the whole thing, but if it's not performed well, um, it just kind of laid flat for me. I wasn't

you know. Come on, now, now you get somebody with the with the with the power and the talent and the skills of of Melissa McCarthy delivering those funny lines, then it's it comes to life. You know, there's there's, they're the whole life to it. And I just thought that that, you know, ragging on Sebastian scene just it had no life. It just laid flat for me. There's the performances I thought were really dead. Oh I couldn't disagree more. I think he's there fine. I mean, every

your opinion has value. Thank you, thank you. I've worked long and hard feeling it totally reminds me of that justin Timberlake, James Cordon TikTok that like went so viral when TikTok, I mean, James Corn's doing that thing, and Justin Bieber goes immediately no, wait what I needed to say? Oh Justin Bieber sorry, just you do you know what that scene needed and it needed speed. It was no, it was too slow. It was too deliberate. They needed to talk over each other and just go bam bam bam, bam,

bam bam bam with all that stuff. Yeah, it would have been funny. Okay, I'll give you that, because what is so funny about it is how quick even from it was wasn't It was slow. It was not Gilmore speed. It was too slow. I think that was that was the problem with it. It just had no life. It had no energy behind it. It was just like one guy set a line, another guy set a line, another guy set a line. So it came off like there were jerks. So if it's funny, we're not thinking they're jerks.

We're just enjoying, right right right, You're saying there's a very fine line between being mean and being funny. And like Zach's coming off like a jerk and Brian's coming off like a jerk, and it's just like, how do you how do you make that funny? And I don't think they made it funny. I thought they made it hysterical. Who cares? Who cares what you think? Really? I mean, it's like, are you kidding? I mean, in this instance, okay, we're talking about acting chops. The hell do you know

about it? I don't know if you're on the zoom ten minutes ago and she had a freeze, I think she has acting child doing. What's the fine line between being funny and being mean? And I think you're being funny. I just gave you an example. Yeah, okay, that was well done, thank you, but it was very believable. So it made my heart sink. Just an easy bit. But it was more funny than mean, right, I agree with I thought those guys came off as like purely mean.

It was mean spirited. So it's like, how do you? So? I just tried to demonstrate different. That was very I was like, I was like, I'm gonna give amy because you know what that's called. It's called committing to the line. No, I didn't go doing at first, and then all of a sudden, I'm like, oh, he's doing the example, and I do see what you're saying, because like, look, who cares that Brett? I mean Brett, I was calling Brett Michael Bred? What difference the same? Back then? They're pretty,

they love, they wear bands. You know who cares that Sebastian Bach is old because he's such a jam and guitarist. So I get it. But they're they're literally teenagers. Those guys are eighteen years old. They just graduated high school. To them, that dude is old, yes, for no question about it, no question about I remember when I was twenty one, I was dating a girls seven. I thought she was ancient. Yeah, I was like, wow, this is gonna be fun for a while. But you know, really,

I don't think there's much of refusal. You're so old, you're six years older. You're so much older. After, like after, I think you forget about age. But before it is a gay if you're a freshman as sophomores old again to oh my god, two years older, it seems like ten. Literally when you're ten, like a thirteen year old babysits you. That is really weird. You're right, that's funny. So I get it. Oh that was a good debate, I'm telling you put up a pole. Let's see, let's just let's

bring it Scott, team Amy or team Scott. Let's go, let's go. I also, because he has a family, it really makes him seem like, oh my god, and kids and a wife, and I thought it made him so sweet. I Oh, first of all, just the fact that he owns the sandwich shop, and then he's got the kids and he's like, I'm in the band, and they're so exciting. I just love that he brought the family to the to the festival. Yeah, and then you get the backstory.

He was good. They were gonna open for what Quiet Riot and they the band big shot oh Man selling out all the clubs, the Rainbow Room. And I actually spent an evening with Sebastian back on the Sunset Strip. See. I would have thought, Scott Patterson that when Sebastian Bach came on set that you would have been pretty stoked. I didn't care about him. I didn't listen to his music. I didn't listen to that music. It was nothing that my generation listened to. We didn't listen to that stuff.

I mean we were we heard it on the radio once and then we turned turned and turned the radio off. Um, you know, we didn't like that kind of music. Um, but yeah, so we got we became friends and and it was you know, he's a funny dude. Was good actor too. He's a good actor. Yeah, he's he's got The one thing about Sebastian is he is not a shy guy. You know, he's got personality and he knows, he knows about performance. And he's got that big voice.

I mean, he's he's a very talented singers. So he's got this massive voice and he's got an upper register that you know, all those guys from those bands could really hit those high knows that high scene oh my god. Yeah, and I think Sebastian was like the the king of all of those singers with the with the voice, right he because he was on Broadway too, you know, So what was he doing other shows and movies around the time that he was on Gilmore Girls or was this

like a big to me? This was his acting, Like this is where he was acting. This was like a big deal that he was on Gilmore Girls, like at the time, I think. So, I mean, I don't know that he did. I don't know. I just know him from his music. I'm looking up. I thought it was pretty legit. And whoever thought of put like casting him, because I'm sure they were like, Okay, we've got a couple of choices here. I say, bravo, dude, can sing? Remember I remember you let me play a little before

we get you can sing? Tail off? And this one he was a baller man. Oh yeah, Oh you should have seen him at the Rainbow Room. Hello, Hello, let's talk about the baby Box. Baby we're talking about shifting gears. Oh sorry, pardon me, No, No, that's fine. Let's know, let's get off that because I'm getting let's get hot. Let's get to the baby for sure. For sure, the Baby Box very sweet and very uh random random? Some random stuff in there? Yeah, what was it? What all

was in there? Again? Some god gum necklace? Her? The magazine, the teen Beat magazine. Oh yeah, John Travolta on that, Well what magazine has hasn't he been in? You know, when we do pop culture later this week, I'm going to be living my best life talking about whether I love Emilio Estevez. The mosst I think they talked about was it? Did they talk about Charla Luchen? No, there was somebody else, John Nelson, Hold on, it's probably in our prop and Andrew McCarthy. Oh my god, so are

we talking Andrew McCarthy and mannequin? Are we? What do we? We'll get to it later this week. This is gonna be a big debate too. How about Andrew McCarthy in Class? How about Andrew McCarthy in Pretty in Pink? How about Andrew McCarthy with Jacqueline Bissett m getting it on? WHOA, I didn't even know that exists. That's the movie Class. Oh, here's the thing. I would go. Andrew McCarthy very strong in the whole movie Pretty and Pink, except for the

last scene because he looks a little bit funky. And here's why. Trivia? Or should I wait till Thursday? Save it till Thursday? Friday? Oh? Part of me? Should should you wait till Friday? Let's wait till Friday. Let's do that. I'm gonna give people some Andrew McCarthy epic knowledge. Hey, Amy, it's a date. Things in the box, Yeah, give me the box, Give me the box. So all the things in the box. You guys want to shut up now so I can listen. What's in the box. You guys,

I want to give it to you. I don't need to everyone. All of the people listening are gonna be mad that we didn't list this stuff. Give it so the walkman, the bubblegum necklace yep um, the magazine yep um. Let's see you a Yeah, the Rory's first jumper yep. That was made out of one of lorealized t shirts. Um. And that those are the things that she listed up. Yeah, that was the box and a wrapper, another candy rapper. There was a rapper of something. It's amazing what you

say when my chunky rapper. I tell you I've got an entire storage facility filled with crates of my son's toys and papers and armwork. I mean it's like that literally does not shock me. You don't throw things away. Yeah, that does not shock me, especially for you. I feel that you would have a real problem getting rid of something your kid did. Oh yeah, did we miss anything other than how much I just want Nicole and Luke to get divorced. Sorry, I don't want to be mean,

but like, I am not into it. I don't know. I I love a tailor centric episode. I love uh a Kirk centric episode. I love a Melissa command performance episode. I loved Sebastian coming and I loved how the band reacted to them if they just were quicker about um um. Uh. Lane looked amazing. I know I said it earlier, but man,

she really looks great. Talking about looking amazing. What about that opening scene in the uh, not the opening scene, but there Yale and they're in the laundry room and Rory quotes a couple of lines from The Godfather, you know, but uh and homage to James conn who just passed away risk in peace. Uh um. And she looks so beautiful, isn't she? Rory just looked right, and it made me think, well, I think they both looked great in this episode. I

like how they're dressed like her. They're dressing Rory a little more like college girl with the turtleneck. I like it. It's it's it's funny how this season the wardrobe completely changed and she's sounds so girly. It's improved, and I think it's really short hair. Yeah oh yeah, um, So what didn't we cover the last scene? I guess when the pager goes off, how she stayed frozen during that? Also, I feel like I feel like they ran off a little too slow, Like I was like when she just

ripped that thing off and run. I feel like there was a there was a pause when like Taylor's wrapping up the night and then it shows them running around the back. So here's the deal. They probably did on the first ten takes and then they got tired and have to do it again. Really there's a problem with the thing of the witch. McCall and the Hooja made Okay, let's just jog this time, just like we never use it. If we go slow, they'll never use it. But we

can go home. Waiting for them to like run behind Taylor as he was doing his closing statement actually would have been very funny. Yeah, I would have enjoyed that. I think the best stuff, the best camera work, the best makeup. The best that I think that show's ever looked is when we go inside the makeup room, we saw the characters, it looks like it looked like a movie. You're right, you're right. So that was really a real triumph. I think the height of of of the art of

the television was achieved in that in those scenes. Um truly remarkable, really really great stuff, really really great stuff. My my favorite episode so far, because my favorite episode so far, Yes, because it it gives us what Stars Hollow can be, right, people coming together doing wacky, wonderful

things that are also very challenging and very beautiful. Right, So you see all the artistry, and you see the artisans, and you see the acting involved, and you see the organization, you see that community coming together, and look at the performance they put on. It was it was perfection. It was absolute perfection. How many Renoir paintings would you give it? I would give it, Well, you only need to give it one for perfection because that's burn wir right. You

don't want to be redundant with the masters. True. Wait, I better come up with something different. Then. How many Baby Pagers would you give it? Out of ten? Baby? Now you've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous, So now I have to say, Baby Pages, I'd give it a hundred thousand Baby pages out of ten. That's how good I thought. The episode was. Wow, okay, really great.

And you know we saw a lot of the town too, and we got to see different angles of the town, and I just remark, true, I'm going to give it eight point five baby pages. Yeah, I was going to say eight point five as well. I really enjoyed it, but it's not my favorite favorite saying yeah, I just give out nine or ten baby pages. Oh no, yeah, you're you've got far better taste than all of us. Yes, yeah, of course you're tougher. You're tougher to place. Yes, we

know Bracebridge didn't like dinner. That one gives me like ten out of ten? Which Bracebridge dinner? Oh yeah, you're still holding on to that. I'm still holding and that's still my favorite. That was so good, this one ten out of tens. But I wouldn't say seven and three quarters. What? Oh wow, that's not bad from ever? Seven is good? Yeah, I agree, he's good. Seven is a C. It's a it's a seven, seven like B minus. You're yeah, from

failing grade. You gotta don't want to give it. I want to give it a B. So I'll give it eight baby pages. Wait, let me, let me try to be serious. Your enthusiasm shocks me. It's pretty good. Wait, what's next? What's next week? I I I'm ready for Digger to come back. Oh god, Scott, what's next week? I'm trying to get what is it next week? Died jerk? Is that Scott? Is that Scott talking to me? I like that you said as you put on your chapstick too, so like I have to put on my chap Oh

my god. Um, all right, I guess that's it. Huh. I felt like four minutes. I'm not gonna lie this episode, this podcast episode, that literally felt like four minutes to me.
