Humanity Unlocked

Kimberly Dayasites.libsyn.com
At Humanity Unlocked we know that listening to someone’s story with an intent to gain insight and understanding is an important key in unlocking each person’s humanity. Many folks have a difficult time understanding the nuances behind issues such as the cycle of abuse, the chokehold of an addiction, and the battle of mental illness. On the flip side, there are others who understand subjects like these all too well. The gap that exists between the two is the reason for our podcast. Each one of us has a unique origin story that helps to explain the unfolding of our life circumstances. When that story gets told, it gives others a glimpse into who we are and the context and nuances behind the choices we’ve made. It’s common to pass judgment on highly sensitive and in some cases stigmatized topics, but without the context of an origin story it can be a recipe for unfair criticism. Our goal is to give each guest a forum to share the untold side of what is usually a much bigger story, and to give each listener a perspective they may have never considered. The objective isn’t for us all to agree. It is to provide an opportunity for insight, and ultimately to unlock that one thing we have in common. And that is our humanity.
