Have you ever wished you could instantly bring in a team of experts to weigh in on your ideas without scheduling endless meetings or waiting for replies. Well, if you're using chat GPT plus, that's the paid version you can. There's a simple but powerful trick that allows you to create your own executive advisory board using custom AI personas. Imagine being able to tap into an analytics whiz, a legal expert, or a creative director instantly within the same
conversation thread. In today's episode, I am joined by Inventium's resident AI guru, Neo Applin to break down exactly how you can set this up, why it's a game changer, and how to make Jenai collaboration as seamless as a real time brainstorming session. So if you're ready to level up how you use Jenai for decision making, this is
an episode you won't want to miss. Just quickly before we get into today's episode, if you want to go defilt and learn how to work with AI instead of worrying about being replaced by it, I have something that I think you will love. But my consultancy you invent him. We've created the JNAI productivity system. It's a self paced online course designed to help you boost productivity and say literally hours every week by using Jenai a whole lot smarter.
It just a few hours. You'll go from Jenai dabbler to Jeni expert with practical tools you can start using immediately. Head to inventim dot com, dot au forward slash Jenai to check it out and get started today. Welcome to How I Work, a show about habits, rituals, and strategies for optimizing your day. I'm your host, doctor Amantha imber So. People often think of Jenai as a single assistant, but you're suggesting that we do something a little bit more dynamic.
Can you explain the concept of a Genai advisory board.
A lot of people may not know that. You can say, hey, chat GPT or Claude, I want you to be or pretend you are this person and it's an awesome empathy engine. So you could say, pretend you're Einstein, let's have a conversation. You could say, pretend you're the Prime Minister, pretend you're Donald Trump maybe, and it can then pretend that it is that person and give ideas, concepts and knowledge like
it was that person. So you can take that to the next step, particularly with chat GPT, because you've got the GPTs that you can build. So as a reminder, the GPTs are where you can have your own prompts within a particular GPT that every time you come back to that GPT, it'll then remember those prompts. So to put it in a bit of context, you can have different GPTs for different needs. So I've got for an analytical GPT, I've got one for a humanistic empathy kind
of GPT. I've also got another one for a problem solving GPT, and the last one I've got is a it's like a Devil's advocate GPT who kind of coaches me with things. I can then use each of these in different scenarios.
Okay, so we're not going to get into how to build a GPT in this episode, but I think we might have some resources, so we'll link to that in the show notes. But I want to know specifically, how does and I've heard you call this the AT tricks in the little symbol AT that you'd find in an email address, for example, So how does the AT trick in GPT and chat GPT plus because I think, correct me if I'm wrong. This only works in the paid version.
How does this change the way that we can interact with AI?
The old fashioned way of doing this is you'd have a conversation and then you would then paste all of that into another thread with another with with a particular prompt. And so you're cutting and pasting for different threads, and each thread has a different personality or perspective in it. So I'll cut and paste into a thread which is all about analytical stuff, and then I'll cut and paste
it into a problem solving stuff and that's a bit annoying. Now, with the GPTs, once you've a created them and b the important thing is talked to them, Then when you've got a new thread going, you can hit the AT symbol at the start of what your prompt would be, and then it pops up with effectily a pop up saying which of your GPTs that you recently used do
you want to bring into this chat? So, rather than you bring in the content to the GPT, in this case, you're bringing the GPT to your chat, and so you can then bring each GPT in as you need to. So it's almost like saying, hey, analytical person, come and join the chat and what do you think about this? And then hey, problem solving person, come and join a chat for this. Or you might have an industry knowledge person,
or you might have a mass expert person. Whatever your needs are, you bring them to your chat with the at symbol.
I love this so much because I was one of those people that was just hopping into new threads essentially when I needed to do this. But now that I know when you taught me this shortcut, I just love this. Now I know you recommend assembling a dream team of custom GPTs, can you tell me about some of the key personas that should be included.
This is entirely up to you and your needs. So I like problem solving, I like analytical things. I like having a different customer perspective on things. These are the kind of things that I work with. But just say you're in sales, you may want to have certain personas or GPTs for types of clients or industries that you're working with. Potentially, if you're in HR, you might have
an industry regulation GPT, you might have illegal GBT. So who do you wish that you had sitting right beside you to ask question of any time of the day, they're u GPTs.
Now, when you were describing this, I heard you say like these need to be recently used GPTs. Can you tell me about the purpose of what I've heard you call the first hello rule and why this is a crucial step in this process.
The interface in chat GPT is less than awesome for this. And in order to use the AT to then get a pop up and then say hey John, my Chad, you must have talked to these GPTs recently. And so if you've just created a GPT and you hit the AD button, it will not pop up in the pop up. So you've got to at least say hello to the GPT or whatever. It doesn't matter what you say to the GPT, but you must have used it recently in order for it to pop up in the AT pop up.
Okay, So can you walk me through a real world example of using multiple gen AI experts in adverted commas in a single conversation.
Yeah. So, if you're writing a complicated document for a particular client, say maybe it's analysis piece. Maybe it's a like a pros and cons kind of piece, bringing in say an analytical expert is always a handy thing. So which bits of I missed? How can I improve this? Also a problem solving maybe you get stuck halfway through you're building that you can bring a problem solving GPT in there. But I also like using it for an audience GPT. So imagine if doing something for a COO
or an operations lead. So then I can say, hey, I've got a GPT for an operations lead. What would you think about this? What would you want to see in this document? So it's almost like you've got an expert within that role coming in to validate what you're doing, making sure that it's kind of right.
So what types of decisions or tasks benefit most from using I think what we jointly refer to as an AI advisory board.
I'm a big fan of using it for problem solving, getting things right. It's less applicable to writing and creative type endeavors. So if you're doing a LinkedIn post, probably no, that's not the thing you would want to bring in lots of GPTs for, unless maybe an audience GPT might be one you'd want to add into your conversation. But deep analytical things problem solving. I'm kind of structuring this. Those kind of problems brilliant to bring in different different GPTs.
Now, I assume that a lot of listeners will not have access or will not have paid access to chat GPT pro I think it costs what about twenty five or thirty dollars AUD a month if they don't have access to the paid version? Is there a workaround here? How can they use this strategy?
Yeah, you can still do it. What you doing is instead of bringing the GPT to you, what you may want to do is start different threads with different personas. So when each of the chats, you know how you can rename a chat. So I create a new chat and say you are a problem solving person and give all the dimensions you want, or you might say you're an industry person, maybe you know a lot about mining or whatever those things are you want for each of
those different experts. Rename the thread for the experts, so call it the mining expert thread something like that, and then you'll cut and paste your content into those expert threads and then say, hey, what are your thoughts about this particular thing, And the content might be the previous chats you've had, or it might be this are the structure of the things that I'm doing so effectively, you're bringing your content to each of the experts in this case,
and you're still getting that great expertise. It's just an extra step.
I love that workaround. I did not know about that because I have access to the paid version of chat GPT NEO. Thank you for coming back on and sharing another very very helpful Jenai tip.
