這一則故事提到，有位婆羅門故意要陷害另一位婆羅門，特地到僧眾住的地方，謊稱某位婆羅門明天將在家中準備各種食物，迎請比丘僧去接受供養。這位被陷害的婆羅門非常敦厚，即使知道別人故意陷害他，他也不願意看到比丘們托空鉢，趕快派人去採購食物供養比丘們。因為他善根成熟，加上老實敦厚，沒想到因禍得福，由於這樣的因緣才能聽到比丘僧說法而證得初果。我們在日常生活中，也許也會遇到他人不友善的行為，希望大家能夠多忍辱、多包容，說不定由於這樣的逆增上緣，能激發我們的善根，讓它能夠發芽，進而成就道果。
