這一則故事提到：波斯匿王的女兒由於前世起惡心，輕慢聖者，謾罵辟支佛，所以感得面貌醜陋的果報。還好她立刻懺悔，不然還有可能會墮三惡道。後來她在今世見了佛之後，起歡喜心、清淨心、恭敬心而相貌變得很莊嚴。我們一般說，孩兒不嫌娘醜，狗兒不嫌家貧。但是波斯匿王為了愛面子，竟然把自己的女兒偷偷地嫁給一個窮人。
一般人可能在意外在相貌的美醜，其實內在的真善美更重要。所以，善良、有愛心的人最美麗、最莊嚴，不是嗎？
