In this episode, host Holly Cotton and Micah Dennis-Shaw discuss her story of growing up with adversity and how she is trying to bridge the gap with others falling prey with her program “Save a Hood”. Their firm is dedicated to going into schools and detention centers and focuses on transforming youth by fostering self-awareness, resilience while promoting social emotional awareness. 


Micah’s story is one of resilience as well, from homelessness and abuse to creating her non-profit, The Village, she is a true testament and able to not just teach, but mentor and living her purpose. 

Save a Hood’s mission is assisting schools, juvenile detention centers and behavioral health facilities on becoming more self-retaining while promoting social emotional learning and positive behavioral interventions.
