Episode description

this one is for the wellness jewesses.

sharing an article i wrote on the intersection of holistic wellness and yidishkeit for those of us commemorating and mourning today, on october 7th.

“when on rare occasions (especially as someone who often dwells outside of the confines of the shtetle that is new york) i find myself graced by the presence of one such niche jewess, my shoulders drop. my belly rumbles pleasantly with a warm fuzzy feeling. my nerves settle. there are laughs. there are looks of knowing. we bask in the warm glow. i feel like i am lit from within from the light of 1,000 shabbos candles. i am maneshevitz drunk on life while being stone cold sober. essentially, in some deep, primal, subconscious, animal lady language my sister, fellow traverser of the diaspora has signaled to me, hey girl, i won’t chase and/or persecute you. you are safe here.”
