Carol's cliff notes:

Rachele left her corporate job to design obstacle courses.

Reasons: No support for working moms

Needed a behavioral change

Unsure at first, can I design an interesting course?

Nervous when calls started coming in

Kids can be outside and give moms a break

Basically the course consisted of running, racing, hurdles, tires, a foam box to step and step down, what kid doesn’t love a box?

It went well and now she wants to expand equipment and zone in on middle school age children.

Her advice: Go with the flow and have confidence to succeed!

About Rachele:

Rachele Manning has been doing obstacle courses since the early 2000's. After getting laid off in the spring of 2018, she took a step back to assess the role her career had served in her own identity and personal happiness.

Rachele launched Obstacle Fitness in July 2019 with a focus on offering services to businesses and organizations. COVID and the death of her mom during the early stages of COVID brought her business to a halt. After wading through her grief and enduring remote school with her two elementary school-aged daughters, Rachele saw an opportunity to pivot and her business has been steadily growing ever since.

Rachele lives in Natick MA with her husband, two daughters, dog and two cats.
