of Slavery
This Ash Wednesday, we look at the Wilderness of Slavery. The Israelites were enslaved people to Egypt just as humanity enslaved people to the power of sin. On Ash Wednesday, we remember the curse of the law that brings about death in our mortal bodies, but we also remember the sure and certain hope of the resurrection from the dead. Just as God heard the cries of the Israelites, God also heard the cries of humanity and sent Jesus as the one to redeem us from our slavery to sin and to bring us t...

The chapter emphasizes the importance of physical touch and its ability to convey love, healing, and acceptance, even in a society wary of physical interactions. Jesus’ touch extended beyond the leper to many others. The chap...

In Faith
What an incredible moment in Peter’s life we are witnessing this weekend. The disciples are in a small boat in the middle of a big storm and filled with great fear. In the middle of all of this comes Jesus walking to them right on top of the thing they fear the most. Jesus then invites Peter to Step Out of the boat in faith and to walk on his fears by staying focused on the one who is always in complete control. This week, we are encouraged and challenged to step out in faith, just like Peter, a...

In Grace
At the end of every worship service, a pastor speaks an ancient blessing over the people. This blessing is called the Aaronic Blessing and it was given to remind the people that they forever stand in a position of God’s favor. Our God is the God of all grace; through His grace, we Step Out into this world to bring that same grace to others.

Session 1 - The Gospel of John Part 3

In Boldness with Guest Speaker Peter Mutabazi
Joshua has been made the new leader of the Israelite people and is reminded by God to Step Out in boldness because God promises to be with Him wherever He goes. Our boldness comes directly from the reality that if our God is for us, then who could possibly be against us? The perfect love of our God has the power to cast out all our fear, and now we step into this New Year with boldness, knowing that our God already stands on the water we venture onto.

In Compassion
In Matthew, we see Jesus going to different cities, villages, and people, and when He looked upon them, it says He was moved with compassion. Wherever Jesus went He Stepped Out in compassion to meet the needs of others that He encountered. Following in His footsteps, we also desire to Step Out with compassion into the harvest field of our city as we also pray for God to send more people who will Step Out in hope, in love, and in compassion towards others.

In Love
As we Step Out into 2024, we do so, bringing the greatest blessing of all, and that is the love of God to this world. In 1 Corinthians, Paul reminds us that without love, there is really no point to the journey ahead. Love is why Jesus came to this earth, why he went to the cross, and why He has called us as His own. The best definition of love is sacrifice and we Step Out into this world together to sacrificially love others because that is the love that has been given to us by Jesus.

In Hope
In Romans 15, Paul reminds us that not only does it take courage to Step Out, but we also realize we are not in this alone. He reminds us that as we are instructed in the things that have been written in scripture we will experience endurance and encouragement that will result in our hope of the future and result in the harmony that we share with one another. As the body of Christ, we Step Out into this world, bringing the hope that is within us that no matter what comes, nothing can separate us...
