David

Leila just did her version of Friday. We're a weekly podcast. We talk about stuff. We try and give you some good facts for a trivia night. Or to be like that person at the dinner table who's like, surely,

Leila

actually wrong.

David

And we get a lot of stuff wrong. So just shoot us a message mail. Fun Fact, Friday and let us know. Yeah. I'm David.

Leila

I'm David.

David

We've been over this. So we're sitting here doing your Leela. We're sitting here doing show prep, getting things ready, figuring out what we're going to do. And, and littles like, let's get the show on the road. I was like, boom, record. Yeah. And hit the that's when we get the best shows we do when we you know, get the energy highs, like whoa, unexpected.

Leila

In band. My teacher knows that. If we need to play something day to grade. She doesn't make it. She doesn't let us practice beforehand. Yeah, that'd be like on that day. Oh, no, she looks his practice, but like, a couple days, and then on the day of she has less practice at all. And she's just like, Okay, I'll go, boom. And

David

then yeah, that's a little trick. I learned a while back when you're taking a group photo. Everybody, like when everybody's getting ready, you know, everybody's like, trying to figure everything out. Like when nobody's quite ready yet. Everybody's still kind of figuring out where they're gonna stand. Go ahead and set the 10 second timer and run, run over there. And like, everybody has to very quickly get into a spot and like, makes everybody smile, like, you know, makes their eyes

open bigger. And it's always it always seems to be a better photo when it's, you know, rushed like that. Sorry, everybody get there quick, one more energy in the photo, you know, not everybody's like posing, you know, oh thing you know, you know, you know, I said, you know, 400 times already, and we're only two minutes in. Yeah, you're right. Oh, my gosh. Okay, if we're gonna do that, push the volume up a little bit. Just if we go back to that first panel. Yeah,

you're right. Yeah, you're right. So what's your topic this week?

Leila

stuff. Yeah, just

David

stuff like facts about common items. And we're gonna get into that here in just a few minutes. But first, as we always do, we're gonna go over what's going on with us. So quick segment about the good news about us. And then the good news segment. This week, we had our 20th anniversary, my wife Phaedra. And my wonderful wife Phaedra. And I, we went to cast

Leila

it was at the University and podcast 20 years now.

David

No, wedding anniversary, we went to the melting pot, which was a whole a whole experience. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's a restaurant. It's has a as a fondue restaurant. So you know, they bring your your courses and they bring you something to dip the food and to cook it at the table. And I'm like, paying a whole lot of extra money to have to cook my own food. But it was fun. I had a really good time. You know, it was just just me and the missus

Leila

of things that you just came there expecting like soup.

David

I cook my own cook my own soup. But no, it was really good. I really enjoyed it. bit pricey, but you know, it was a whole experience. We did get a really good dessert and they caught it on fire. I was. Yeah, I like I like watching them when they catch stuff on fire at your table. Right?

Leila

Yeah. And I wish I could come but it's their little night.

David

It was our 20th anniversary.

Leila

My birthday is in a couple of days. Yeah. So excited. y'all haven't Stop yapping about it. Just

David

yap yap yap about that birthday. And yeah, so that's that's what's going on with us. We just just live in life. Right. So lemon lime.

Leila

Hello, welcome to Fun Fact Friday. Good news, I guess.

David

Mine sister news. It's interesting. It's not like a uplifting, wonderful good news story. But

Leila

selenia. In Pennsylvania, an entrepreneur left her six figure engineering job to volunteer at a mechanic shops around her area to learn how to fix cars. She founded the girls auto clinic when she was finished. Now the girls auto clinic it was like kind of just like a you know, it's a

David

you know, you're a professional podcaster

Leila

Yeah, it's just not a repair shop. But it's run by all women. All right, and they they offer mani pedi ease while waiting for their car. That's

David

Z that's entrepreneurship right now. It's like money. It's like, oh, you can you can combine lots of things where you have to wait with other things that something is actively happening like you could make a carwash and it could be like wings and wash like you While your car is getting washed and detailed, you go get some wings, right? Yeah pretty pretty good business opportunity. And as you know from Breaking Bad you can launder money through a carwash but we're not gonna

Leila

go I'm gonna go into that. Because Breaking Bad don't watch it kids. It's not doesn't exist

David

not a kid

Leila

shows no show.

David

So my good news too are you down here? Yeah, okay, I felt like so my good news story is about Barbie dolls. Because you know, why not? Is your Barbie doll

Leila

Barbie girl in a Barbie world Barbie

David

is got a new this came out on March 6, which was our anniversary Barbie has a new line coming out called Barbie role models and I was like oh no who they pick and his role models and me pretty good. Leila is gonna be a Barbie doll now right now they people Viola Davis people they're not me was an American actress. She became an EGOT recipient. Do you know what you got? Is?

Leila

Having earned an Oscar Emmy Grammy and Tony

David

just read Maestro. I can't it's an Emmy. Grammy Oscar Tony. That's why it's gone. And then they they didn't even put it in that order in this article. But anyway. And then let's see Shania Twain's in there she is weighing. Oh my goodness. She's a country music artist from Canada. What that didn't know that. I know. I know. The volumes are all weird. She's saying that you're still the one and man I feel like a woman. I'm sure you've heard man. Man. I feel like a woman

you heard that song. down but don't anyway.

Leila

Let's go girls. Yeah, yeah.

David

Dame Helen. I think she's a Dame Helen Mirren. I think she is but she's one of the one of the girls and then Kylie Mundo. Montague knots, Manal kalima know who is she? She's an Australian born singer who has sold over 80 million records. What is she saying? 2023 song per Dom. Dom.

Leila

I have no idea.

David

I know of Kylie Minogue. I think she was in an episode of Doctor Who, at one point, it was like one of the Christmas specials or something. I could be wrong about it being a Christmas special. But they were on a cruise ship crew in space. Nice, because, you know, Doctor Who many ways I thought it was neat that they were there. Yeah, you got some good role models

for girls. And not like, you know, just standard astronaut or president is actually like people I thought it was I feel like it's kind of risky to to make goals of people that are still living for your highly successful dollar line. Just because people can change over time and might not be a good ambassador for your brand in the future. But it is what it is. You know. It's neat. But yeah, and this concludes Fun Fact Friday new so now that we've turned that off,

Leila

you know really gets my god we can play. Yeah.

David

So Leila, what's your favorite common item? My screen. Okay, so my.

Leila

You never really gets my go HDMI cables plugged into this laptop?

David

Well, you can unplug it and just let the laptop open if you want it.

Leila

Yeah, yeah, the monitor is all live.

David

I don't think I plugged in.

Leila

So what is my favorite item? Common item, just

David

a common household item.

Leila

That's not common.

David

It's pretty common. It's common in our purposes. You like your sewing machine?

Leila

I like a sink. I like a good sink.

David

Oh yeah. Good sink. We're gonna replace your sink. Our sink is not a good sink. Like a real nice deep one. With like, no divider in the middle. So you've got all this space to work

Leila

with. Things are really easy to draw.

David

They are.

Leila

I think, not

David

right now. We're doing a show. And it's not a visual show. All right. We'll be right back.

Leila

Okay, we're back. That was pretty easy. It was easy to draw.

David

Oh, man. I was gag right now. Alright, pause it. And we're back. Yeah. And you don't know you have no idea if we pause it or not?

Leila

Exactly. Or we just were quiet. You don't even know. Right?

David

Go go go.

Leila

I've been drawn sinks on stuff for a little while. Why have you been trying

David

this wrong?

Leila

Like washing machines.

David

All fabric related items, right? No? Yeah, like are you mean like dishwashers? Both.

Leila

All right, this one

David

right I was not as good as washing machine drying

Leila

machines blast. Washing machines. Yeah. So

David

how about bread tags? No, the little plastic tags?

Leila

Can we make a tear list for all the things talked about today? I'm gonna keep track of in my head, that's fine. So tags are gonna go to the solid D,

David

when you when you get bread from from from the store where you buy bread. It has those little plastic tags that hold it closed that we always throw away immediately because they'll get in your foot because we do we at our house. When we get bread, we twist it and fold it under.

Leila

We take the Okay, once you eat the bread out, like eat the bread. And then you take it you take the top of the bread. Yeah, you're right. Like so opening. You take and you squeeze the air out, but not not enough to just get just enough to there. And then you take the bread and he's spin spin, spin, spin, spin. And then And then sometimes you don't put it underneath. Yeah,

David

but you should still you should you should fold it over and use the weight as a bread to hold it close. I don't like a croute on. Stale bread is a crude

Leila

that's controlled stale bread but the

David

little the little squarish. Plastic tags, depending on the color means what day that the bread was baked. So blue is Monday. Green is Tuesday. Red is Thursday. White is Friday. Yellow is Saturday. Yeah, now everybody's committed that to memory. Right? There will be a quiz at the end.

Leila

There will be a quiz at the end of this episode. Bread tags solid D. Crackers, crackers. Yeah, they have holes for a reason. And I thought that this was like common knowledge. Well, why do they have holes? For steam to escape?

David

Why would you need steam to escape? You're making a

Leila

cracker you're cooking it? You're making a cracker?

David

Oh, for the baking process baking process. Gotcha. Yeah. I Yeah. Because it's like if it didn't happen when I when I take a tortilla and I put it in the oil to make a soap up. Yeah. I have to I have to like constantly fight bubbles. Because it wants to wants to blow up into a bubble bowl. Yeah, we can do that. Don't me next time. I won't I won't let it bubble. My fear is is you know it's on. It's in. hot hot oil. Yeah. My fear is that it's gonna burst and spray hot oil in

my face. Yeah. I'll put a I'll put a face mask on. And we'll we'll do some some Sopia bubbles.

Leila

What are we rate crackers? That's, uh,

David

do you like do you like, I don't like crackers. Do you? Like just regular saltines? Like regular salty like, or do you like the Ritz doesn't depend on what you're doing? Right. Let's let's let's break it down. Okay, let's cracker talk. Let's go. Yeah, square regular saltines. I like with my chili or with my soup. Okay, most other applications of crackers. I want a rich style. don't necessarily want the brand. Just that kind of buttered. Brownish, round cookie. Cracker. Oh my gosh.

That's That's what I like for like peanut butter.

Leila

Oh, hungry today. It at dismissal. When I was waiting for my bus to get here. Me and a couple other friends. Were just eating a pack of Ritz crackers. Yeah. Not sponsored. Good snack. It's an okay snack. I was gonna eat her orange but the orange she literally dropped earlier. So it had a huge brown spot. Oh, no, no, thanks.

David

Speaking of oranges, how about tomatoes? No, sorry, strawberries. You know the sewing strawberry. I always thought it was a tomato. But I guess it's tomato with a little strawberry. Strawberry. Okay. Did you know that? It's an emery board. It has Emery sand in it. It's not an emery board, but it has Emory Santa. So it sharpens and polishes your needles as you put it in there. I did not know that. So cool. I didn't know

that. So the little red thing that you stick your needles in I always thought it was just like keeping you from stabbing yourself with a needle by safely storing them with the pointy end inside the tomato thing. But it actually helps polish and

Leila

sneak. That was neat, but I don't put my pens in a pen question. I need to I need a pin cushion. My birthday is coming to her birthday is coming. I have to have a plane pin cushion. I have like 20 plane pin cushions. I just don't use them. I have a little ramekin.

David

You've got lots of pin cushion items. You've got all those stuffed animals too. But those Do you know what Kleenex tissues were invented for?

Leila

Me? Just you? Yeah, I've

David

been using them so sorry. Hang it. My bad name on them. They were used. They were invented for gas masks. During World War One, like, there was a cotton shortage because you know, the war, and they made the thin tissues then Kleenex is and you would put them inside your gas mask as a filter. Oh, all right. Pretty good. I found the site I'm on his family handyman.com I think it's a Reader's Digest owned site, just

because of indicators on the site. Do you know what the indent on a bottom on a bottle of wine is on the bottom?

Leila

for inflation, it's,

David

yeah, you get less and less wine every time inflation. No wine is is sold by the milliliter. So it's right, the bottle would just be wider or whatever. But it's called a punt pu NT. And it makes the bottle stronger. Because when they're fresher, pushing the cork in, it creates pressure and you can't have a weak bottle for that. And then it also gives the server something to put their thumb in while they're pouring to give them a little bit extra grip. That's what the site says. Just

hold hold one bow. Do you know why there's a bump on F and J on your keyboard?

Leila

For your fingers? Your home row keys? Yeah. Which I don't use?

David

Five, no home row crew. I've no, there's no way. I guess I'm I've been using a computer since I was like five. And I cannot I just still can't do it. Yeah,

Leila

like how you can type. You just type. I just type. Who cares about my fingers go into the right keys. And all right. All right. You're right.

David

Sure. Right. Sure. Right. Exactly. Okay, so do you have any? Do you have any good ones? Have you found any good ones? Or do you want me to read another one? Because this one applies to me. I've done it before more

Leila

people have cell phones and toilets?

David

Well, just in our household, we have more so than toilets.

Leila

You know, okay, we've heard about water. In science. We've Oh, that's a word because I don't remember talking about water in science. They say that the most water you use in a household is the water using your toilet? And I believe it. I'm just like, really? I don't think because I don't think I do. I think I shower. Like I take one hour showers.

David

We have a huge water heater.

Leila

We have a humongous over she uses the whole thing.

David

Even leave it on like super hot so

Leila

I keep it at lukewarm. I don't take hot showers.

David

Oh my gosh. I like it when it's scalding hot.

Leila

I know you love it. Which is why we can never take showers in the same like six hours. Because I'll take one

David

either early in the morning, but I have to tell them if I take it early in the morning because I need to take one too. Yeah, it's very if Leila could take a reasonable length. Shower never I never originally, like showering. We could all all three of us could easily shower and the time that it takes for the water to run out. But nope, nope. No.

Leila

I gotta take my sweet time. She does duct tape, listen to music or anything. I'm just another sign.

David

We just got a really good deal on some Altec Lansing Bluetooth waterproof speakers. So we have a shower speaker now so I can listen to podcasts in the shower. Nice.

Leila

Sounds great. Elaine, who listens to podcasts anymore? All right.

David

bunch of nerds. Yeah, you're right. Anyways, we taught we don't ever have enough downtime in our speech to play.

Leila

warts. Oh, yeah.

David

Did you know that duct tape can kill eliminate warts? Did you? Did you know that you can put duct tape on a wart and it's actually more more effective than freezing the word off? Oh, all right. I've done that before. I had a wart on my hand. And I put duct tape on and it went away. I

Leila

was in class today. And Parker got his hand hurt. And he went to go ask for a band aid and he got he got a normal band aid but it came off in the next class. So we asked the other teacher for a band aid and she was like I don't have that many mandates. It's like three inches wide. Like five inches length and tiny little.on his cannon and he has a cover up. We just had a comically large band. We

David

had we were doing some are grilling out one time and I cut my thumb really bad on something. I probably should have went and got a tetanus shot but I ended up being fine. But we didn't have any band aid This is a long time ago, we didn't have a fully stocked first aid kit like we do now. So I had to make something. So we took to some paper towel and wrapped it around my thumb, and then wrapped electrical tape around the whole thing. No, that's a mandate. If all of the all of

the parts of it came out of a toolbox Oh, wow. gala

Leila

gasoline contains 31,000 calorie.

David

Yeah, so if you're going on a on a 2000 calorie a day diet, so you can

Leila

if you're trying to get lean and buff, don't drink gasoline.

David

I'm gonna go ahead and say for legal reasons don't drink gasoline in no circumstance. I've had gasoline in my mouth. And it's really gross. I love

Leila

the smell of gasoline. I really think I would want to you don't?

David

I don't know. It hurts my brain. It gives me a headache. So do you know how, like I had to siphon gas out of a tank one time to put it into another tank?

Leila

Besides, like the smell of gasoline? Yeah,

David

it's not a good smell. It's really bad to be breathing that in.

Leila

Don't breathe and gasoline guys.

David

But no. All right. Do you know how to siphon gas?

Leila

Somewhat?

David

I know how to siphon siphon them works. Okay, so Well, we never had like one of those little siphon pumps or anything. We had to just like water hose and like, oh, yeah, you just

Leila

forgot your mouth. Right?

David

So it's like, but I think a lot of people, a lot of people have had at least some gasoline in their mouth at some point. Did you know the waffle iron inspired the first pair of Nike shoes? Oh, yeah. Didn't When did you hear that? I never heard that before.

Leila

I'm lying. Oh yeah, you're right. Liar. If I ever lied, the first

David

stroller made for babies. was pulled by a goat. Oh, all right. Oh, well. It's one of the most interesting facts that had us scratching our heads. Or a dog or a miniature horse, but not by parents. What?

Leila

So hey, where are the monkeys? What are a donkey round

David

or a miniature horse but not by parents? I don't understand that. What are you?

Leila

What are you trying to read? Okay, so one of the one of the many, many. One of the many interesting facts that had us scratching our head, or a dog or a miniature horse, but not many parents,

David

but not by parents. What

Leila

are the first three with the third Duke in the Devon Shire? The 1733 By the mid 18th century, strollers were pretty unstable, but they had handlers, not parents. So parents, not animals could pull the baby behind them. I'm really bad at reading

David

my message from our Dasher who was our food. I don't know.

Leila

Okay, so hey, hey, we're the monkeys. People say we monkey around but we're too busy singing to put anybody down. You know the monkeys, right?

David

I'm aware of the monkeys. Yes. So

Leila

Mike Nesmith. Okay, Nesmith. Okay of the monkeys? Yeah, yeah.

David

Mm hmm.

Leila

What? Hold on. What's this?

David

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around this sentence in this in this son

Leila

of unsung adventure. While Betty Nesmith, her name is while Oh no, her name was Betty. Bye while Betina Smith was working on IT executives thinking she began using white tempera paint to cover up typing mistakes. I haven't even told you what this is about. She made the white out

David

oh my gosh, she made white out

Leila

mom oh my goodness Smith made white out. Oh my god. Yeah, it was funny. She received 47 point 5 million paycheck Miller million dollar paycheck Hey, you know what I hate? Early gets my goat when

David

the button doesn't push correctly.

Leila

And when they write the little dollar sign and the number amount

David

what what I

Leila

Okay, I'm not great at reading so I forget to say dollar sometimes. So when I'm like reading a thing for the class or for the class, you know, like she received a 47 point 5 million paycheck. Don't say dollar after million. I

David

have always thought that the dollar signs should be after I always thought that but

Leila

then it wouldn't be 97.5 dollar million paycheck. Right? Or it would be she received $1.47 point 5 million paycheck

David

you wouldn't move the word no dollar

Leila

is the sign. Yeah, but that's stupid. I

David

mean it's standardized across the world for all types of money so I get it.

Leila

Yes. So I get it yes it goes before

David

the number but I don't like it. You know what, what else coffee pot you know what really gets my gosh when somebody puts their their smiley face emote thing

Leila

backwards backwards with the colon, or no, it's good to

David

see first and then they call it oh my gosh, anyways, infuriates me

Leila

my first webcam was created to check coffeepot.

David

Oh, yeah, I've

Leila

heard about this one. Yeah. And it sounds like, yeah. Oh, okay. Did

David

you know that you know what Shellac is?

Leila

You know, weight is the stuff that you use on the wood.

David

Yeah. To your shellac it you know, puts like a coating on like Slack like a resin coating. When you're smacking someone you have slack. Did you know that it's made? Its Hold on? I'm gonna say the word it's secreted by female lack bugs in India and Thailand. All right. It's yeah. All right, this one. I'm gonna I'm gonna say it but I'm gonna give a little warning. Little parental warning about this one. You got very young kids in the cars.

Leila

Don't say that one. Don't say that one. Don't say that one. Chainsaws

David

were not originally invented to cut through wood and trees and stuff. They were invented as a medical device. I think I just say that and that's okay. Yeah, that's horrifying enough. But it's horrifying enough you can go to the family handyman and read what what it was originally intended for medical device. Oh my god. Spaghetti spoon hole. The spaghetti spoon hole is the ultimate hack on the internet. Like everybody tells me like like, nobody knows it. Go ahead. Tell it to tell it to us. Like

Leila

you say it. If you know if you're so smart. You put the

David

hole in the spaghetti. The hole? Yeah. Yeah, you're right. All right. I'm gonna move the road caster over the whole spaghetti soon. Spaghetti Sassoon spacing is just the right size for one serving of spaghetti. Dry spaghetti noodles. Yeah, that's it. That's the whole thing. Everybody's like, oh my god knows. I've heard it a million times. Of course. Somebody the first time. Yeah. You know, literally a million

Leila

literally a million. What was that? Well,

David

I don't know. Oh, it's

Leila

a plane. It's a bird. It's a plane.

David

Did you know In a deck of cards, yes. Only one king has a mustache or only one king without a mustache. Oh, really? He's the king of hearts.

Leila

He there. You're right. He

David

didn't feel the heat. He wanted to keep the mustache. He wanted to be clean shaven. Wait a minute ball on top of the stocking cap. I call it a beanie. Or a toboggan.

Leila

Oh, my gosh. What? Okay, I'm on the same website you're on? Because I'm still in it. Because it's good. Yeah, I know. Right. Good one. On the Heinz ketchup bottle. I'm not done with no boat. No, you are so Paul. You are

David

all right. Go ahead. Well, you sound so defeated. faded out. My mic is off.

Leila

Okay, so the 57 varieties on the tomato ketchup Heinz bottle undefeated. But it's been. It's been a long week. So it means that there's been 57 Other tries as a formula. Now, the formula? What? Read the article. Suppose you were the 57 on the ketchup bottle just met how many people out? i Okay.

David

You skimmed it in a gotcha.

Leila

It's like in the math equation. We were trying to factor something out. But you miss the negative sign and it means you have to minus the whole thing instead of just one number. Oh, wow. Means the other one. It the Heinz Company used to emphasize 57 varieties of pickles. It's all it's all greater than 60 products before adopting the slogan.

David

Okay. The 57 on the Heinz 57

Leila

for independent Lee of each other.

David

You're still skipping the article. You're

Leila

skipping Heinz pick To the numbers five and seven for 57 independently of each other handset five with his lucky number and seven was his wife's lucky number.

David

And the other secret behind it is that the company says that's where you're supposed to tap the job is agree to get the ketchup to come out. How do you get the ketchup come out telling

Leila

it like, yeah, it comes out. You tap on the bottom, right, that's the right way to do it.

David

Aluminum foil,

Leila

aluminum foil. Oh yeah.

David

The box of the box of aluminum foil. Reynolds Wrap specifically is pictured. But it doesn't necessarily have to be

that when I think all brands do this. They have these little holes in the side that if you punch them in, it'll hold the little Yeah, it's supposed to hold the little roll inside in place and it does not your best bet is to go if you regularly use aluminum foil, go get you a dowel that will fit inside the thing and like put it in there and have it stick out a little bit on each side because then the roll will actually stay in the box or you

Unknown

just put a paper

David

piece of paper

Leila

where you could just hold the aluminum foil in the box

David

we we just take the aluminum out of the box and then tear it where we know

Leila

we need to okay we're gonna start a petition on change.org To get my parents to stop doing that.

David

Oh we're gonna we're gonna start doing that to get each other to stop doing stuff because quite a few things to stop do it like what? Like what leaving your shoes literally everywhere?

Leila

Okay, I take them off because I'm tired and you just go

David

all over the house wherever you're at

Leila

okay in the den mainly. Or right

David

next to where I sit at the dinner table so I tripped over and when I stand up you should look

Leila

where you're standing up.

David

I shouldn't have to know you should. Because what if there was

Leila

a murder snake? There was a murder sitting on

David

the floor next to the snake Oh my gosh. Oh boy. gets my goat what gets your goat? You Me?

Leila

When you you? When

David

are you trying to think of other complaints? But I'm perfect so you can

Leila

oh my gosh. So what are their what are their surprising

David

facts for everyday? Everyday items? Do you have no idea we know about bread plates used to replace the bowls are made out of bread now bread balls. I hate it. Oh, have you seen the vid there's a video you can just even just search for it. It's a classic these like Baker guys are like her like world renowned bakery people make amazing bread. They watch they watch their Yeah, they watch their their sourdough get cut into a bread bowl and watch somebody pour some cheap soup

into it. And it like breaks their heart when

Leila

I think about every single time. Oh my gosh, I eat a Red Bull and I don't eat a Red Bull, which is a funny thing. Oh, am I gonna explain that later on is made out of bread. If you ever slurped clam chowder over bread bowl then you'll appreciate it Smithsonian so was Missoni magazine, apparently like slurping clam chowder our bread

David

cuz I was a horrible damage.

Leila

Oh, wow. Slurp anything out of Britain?

David

No, use a spoon and then

Leila

isn't even good. Because it's just soggy bread. Oh, so he's our dough. Okay.

Unknown

Are you done?

Leila

Are you done talking about him? Figured it out? Yeah,

David

I figured I edited that day. I don't know what just happened with my face. Words are just totally okay. A fork. The fork was once considered immoral unhygenic and a tool of the devil. It and in fact, there's pitchforks. The the word fork is derived from the Latin for call, which means pitchfork. The first dining forks were used by the ruling middle class and by the ruling class in the Middle East in the Byzantine Empire in 1000.

For the year 1004. Maria Agra Paulina, agro Paulina, niece of Byzantine emperors, Basil the second and Constantine the eighth, was married to the son of the doge of Venice, the dosha those are

visits to Venice to the moon. She

she brought with her a little case of two pronged golden forks, which she used at her wedding feast Venetians were shocked And when Maria died three years later of the plague, oh my gosh. St. Peter Damien proclaimed it was God's punishment for the forhow for using a fork three years ago. And with that St. Peter Damien closed the book on the fork in Europe for the next 400 years. Oh my gosh. That's amazing. Oh, okay, so the chopstick predates the fork by about 4500 years.

Yes. Because it's sticks. sticks have been around a lot longer than forks. Yeah, that's so funny. All right. So I think Do you have any more really good ones? Um, yeah, a lot of the ones I'm seeing are kind of me and we dinner just arrived. So let's let's thank some folks, and we will this Dasher is like super sending texts. fantastic weekend. I think that was it for this week. I think oh yeah. Wait, what? Oh day. Question. Mark Leila's birthday is Monday. Happy birthday. Leila, she will be 14. Also. We have a new thing that we're doing. We didn't even do it. What do we do? So Leila before every episode plays a little game Ah, on the internet, yay. And it's just, it changes it kind of changes over time. But we've like she has all these little sites that she has to have all these little fun

games on them that are like free. Yeah. So we're gonna start highlighting one this week she was playing google snake.com. Yeah. And it's just snake, you know, the old game with the collect little apples or whatever. And the snake grows, and you have to keep not running into yourself. So you can go to google snake.com and check that out. And on Google snake.com There's a bunch of other little time waster games for when you have to, you know, I gotta kill 10 minutes, and you're on the

computer, waiting for something to render or whatever. And you can just boop boop, boop, boop. And it's fun little stuff. So we put that in the show notes. It's a Google snake.com not obviously not a sponsor. We don't do sponsors, so ever have a great weekend? We're gonna go eat some. I'm gonna eat some chicken wings. I don't know what she ordered. But totally. Y'all have a tacos? Oh, yeah, you gotta see y'all next week, everybody. Bye.
