Hello, hello, and welcome. Wait wait wait, wait hold on.
Oh no.
Yeah, I got something different this time.
Oh yeah go we got a we got a cool thing Yeah.
Parker made it hurricane airy go Barker Kane from a couple episodes go gave us an awesome beatbox remix of our intro, and also something else that we will probably play later. We'll see. So welcome to Fun Fact Friday. This is your weekly show where we discuss fun facts surrounding a different topic each week. Send us some hot topic ideas or corrections. Or just you know, if you want to just chat shoot us a message mail at FunFactFriday.com
today might not be superior towards our template would it be?
No Yeah, we're doing sort of something a little different. We're doing something a little different this episode but before we get into that, we just want to thank Parker Kane again for making that beatbox worse he also made he also made this little ditty Should I do it now or wait? Wait, okay, wait.
Oh, you can do it now. It's fine.
Okay, well, are we ready? Because you've got one ready to go right? You don't want to do get ready for your Leila read a little thing he does at the end. Oh yeah. Let's hear what
Leila read.
That's awesome. That's so good. So Leila,
so I was talking the other day, something I think I was talking about walking the class. And I was talking about how I walk on the right side of the hallway like a normal person because some people would be walking in the middle or on the left side when they're going on the left side on the wrong way going the wrong way
should be able to just walk over people if they're just like as if they were not they're going
against the traffic and people don't want to move he just bumped into each other.
What did you call it hall ticket like hall ticket we can we can make a shirt with that like a top view of a hallway. And like arrows. Yeah. Like follow the hall etiquette. Oh, wow. So this episode, what we're gonna be doing is okay, so here's the the genesis of what's what's happening. We I went to give Leila some money for a field trip. And I was like, you know, I keep a little cash in my drawer. And it was getting low. So I was like, I need to swing by the bank and get some money
but I want to get small bills, so I can't use the ATM. So I actually have to go into the bank. And I was like, Hey, welcome to the bank with me. She's like, okay, so go on the bank. And she's like, looking around and she's like, oh, you know, and I'm like, wait a minute, Have you never been
inside of a bank before? And she's like No 13 You never been in the bad weeks to go in the bank like twice a week because you had to do stuff you know you had to had to cash checks or you know everything's electronic now so that got me thinking and we were thinking about something to do this week we've been super busy that's why we're releasing releasing a little later normal but um we got anything of what else that was like daily life
stuff that Leila has no idea about. So we're going to that was that was a weird audio artifact there I don't know if that's gonna come through in their final recording what from my childhood and teenage years does Leila actually know about? So we're gonna be I'm going to be quizzing Leila on 90s Nostalgia Yeah, we're gonna weave in some facts and then I've got I've got some slang and we're gonna see if Leila knows what this language she doesn't have anything up on our screen
right now. Yeah, but before we get started, I want to go ahead and I want to go ahead and hit the value for value this is a value for value podcast we we put the shows out for free and always and if you receive any value from the show if you you know when you see a new episode on your podcast player, get a little excited, you know something worth something to you put a number on that, put a a contribution in some other way on that and return some value. Like I said earlier, we always
need show topic. Next, we have the toughest time coming up with what to what to do, you can go to Fun Fact friday.com and click episodes. And you can see the 176 other episodes that we've had before this one and we have done so much stuff. So, we're getting we're getting to where we're like running out of stuff
to talk about what we'll come up with something. Or you know, if you want to do monetary donation like these fine folks I'm about to talk about you can do a boost and a modern podcast app for new podcast. apps.com uses tiny little amounts of Bitcoin and sends it straight to us. And we got some boost, we got one from Bulli. Steve stayed for episode 176 speed with Ashlyn Greg speed and we got 12345 sets 12345 That's 12,354 Satoshis. What a
great interview. Fun Facts all around entertaining, too. So we got facts, and we got fun and we released on Friday.
We did it. We did it. We did it. We did it. The first time we done that. Okay.
Continuing the the comment. Looking forward to the swear word drop. didn't mention that thumbs up hammer and then angry face emoji are like hurt face. I can't really tell where they're supposed to be angry or hurt. It's a red emoji face. Yeah, I think we talked about it on when we talked about you. At the beginning. I said something to Ashlyn? Yeah, about swearing. Yeah. And you mentioned Anyway, anyway. What?
Okay. The next one we got from just listening is 1776 sets, which is 1736. And it says, Hello, Fun Fact, Friday. I'm loving the beats and the boxes on the beat boxing episode. Yep, that's episode
175. And then 3333. That's 3333 sets from Allen see Paul, I met him down at pod fest. I've done some great music. And also does a show called God and gigs. Nice podcast. I think that one's normally pretty family friendly. So, you know, Parental discretion advised though. And loved all of this, Greg and Ashlyn are inspiring and a ton of fun, too. We agree. We definitely agree we had a really good time with the speed family. So we are going to be moving
into the quiz portion of the show. And just a second, we have one more thing before. I just wanted to kind of kind of talk about AI, and how it has been helping me. Like I wanted to learn to code not like hardcore code make, you know, ridiculously cool complex programs with just small stuff like JavaScript, and, you know, even like batch files that do stuff. And this week, with the help of some, some large
language model, quote, unquote, AI. Yeah, I have learned more about JavaScript than I have an any of the courses that I've taken on it, because I asked it to do something, I asked the AI to help me or to write the beginnings of something for me. And I learned by doing so like it gave me the code. And obviously, if it doesn't work first go, right. So I had to go in, and I had to, and by going in and quote unquote, debugging,
what the API gave me. I learned how the logic works, how the you know, and I was just like, wow, this is like the best tool for me to learn how to how to do this stuff. But with the help of AI doing most of the heavy lifting. I made a cool chapter art image creator. Yeah, it was super cool. It's really neat. I was really
tired last night, and we showed it to me and I was like,
but then she got up this morning to show it to her. She's like, Oh, that is neat. Yeah, it can batch take all the raw images, slap them on our our hexagon background and stick our logo in the bottom corner. Yeah, it's really neat. All on one batch one, one command. Really neat. And then I also wrote one that writes the shownotes and the feed for me. It doesn't itself use AI. It's not like we're having AI listen to the
show and write our show notes for us. Like we still make the show note links, but it spits out all the XML that I need for the for the feed, it just makes it just it just saves shave some time off of the the post show stuff. So anyway, I'm proud of myself. I know that it did most of the work but I did also learn a lot so it was neat. On to the 90s
It feels so weird because I just closed my computer and I'm not looking at anything and work right. So normally
what you got you got cat you got your rat guy on the whiteboard that I haven't erased in like forever. And then you got your your Miku your little three be printed
from her hair.
All right, so I was I was a teenager in the 90s. Were you? I was from age eight, I guess. 787. Right, whatever. They're a dog in my backyard. And I think one of the little wiener dogs next door may have gotten into the backyard. So yeah, you might hear that in the back. All right, so let's get into it. Yeah. Oh, wait for you. I'm going to read you something and you tell me if you have any idea what I'm talking about. Okay. This is from the nostalgia section. Best line on life. The
pain of seeing your Tamagotchi die? Yeah,
no, I've used a Tamagotchi before. Yeah, no. Tamagotchi
is like a little virtual pet. They're really neat. They were real big in the 90s when they first came out. All right, singing along to the AOL dial up noise.
Now I've never used AOL. So but I think I've I've heard that I looked at it before, right.
So um, but do you know what AOL was?
No. Okay. So AOL
was kind of the first big national chat room? No, well, they had channels, but it was the first internet service provider that most people had. So you would dial up into an AOL server, and you would be able to get on the internet. Now AOL didn't want you to get on the internet, they wanted you to stay in their little ecosystem. So instead of typing in, Googled it, and existence time, instead of typing in google.com, you
would use an AOL keyword to get where you want it to go. So like, it was all kind of a walled system, it was just anyway, it didn't work out. And they had they made so many CDs. Do you know what a free like they'd send you a CD in the mail with their software on it. And a free month, where the beauty was, is there was a code on each CD. And you would just win your 14 day free trial or a 30 day free trial or whatever went away. You just took one of the other CDs they mailed you
because they mailed to one a week. What? Yeah, you had so many AOL CDs, they were everywhere.
Like give you a free month. Trial every two every two weeks? Yeah.
Because like, whoever's in charge has sent out CDs or like just keep sending them we get to do many or whatever. But we had free internet for like years because of the AOL No, it was it was a hassle every month or whatever we had to go and you know, re redo the whole thing. But anyway, that was that was before there was a whole lot of competition, especially in more rural areas. Do you know what I Ecto Cooler is?
No.
An Ecto Cooler was a tie in between the drink company high sea and Ghostbusters. Hmm. Because the Ghostbusters ectoplasm is like, you know the whole thing. And they made green high seas. Because there were slime in the in the Ghostbusters movie. Slimer was green. Oh, yeah. All right. So wondering if Ross and Rachel would ever get back together?
I don't want friends. Okay, but
you know, it's from friends. So that's good enough. That's that's a few points here. As well, I'm getting putting points on.
Oh my god, you could just you could just make a scoreboard off to the side, you know?
Well, you know what? I don't like your attitude. Alright, so I'll just I'll just put a put a put up an eye for everyone you get.
Okay, so we got one.
You got one now too. It was Ross and Rachel. Okay. So, yes. Trying to determine which Spice Girl you are most like.
I've done but I still have no idea. Oh, well.
I don't know either. Let's just Let's just say, let's just say Posh Spice. Do ginger because he had no personality traits except red hair. Personality. No, it's just everybody can identify with her. Yeah. Alright, getting excited to show off your Trapper Keeper.
I've done that.
I have a trapper Trapper Keeper. I do. Those came back. Yeah. Yeah, they don't they're not real durable. All right, the joy of getting the last copy of a movie at Blockbuster. Oh, no. I have. I haven't. You haven't ever experienced an experience that I don't think I can give you a point for that. Because there's no way you can ever feeling yeah, there's no way because like, it just it was just pure joy. Especially if it
was a new release. Oh, yeah. All right. Watching OJ Simpson's low speed car chase, and subsequent trial play out on TV.
I have no idea who OJ Simpson is. I'm gonna be completely honest. Okay, I've heard about this dude for my whole life. I think
I heard the name. I've heard
the name but i What did you do? You know, okay, so
OJ Simpson was A football player. Okay. Okay. And American. Yeah. Yeah. And, and something really bad happened to his wife and, and her new husband or ex wife, I guess. Like he got he got accused of it. Because Because he probably did it. Allegedly. Okay. So there was a Yeah, there was a low speed car chase. He was a white Bronco. And it was on an LA. And there's like 13 cop cars behind them, but they were going
like 30 and it was on all night. We were at a hotel room that night for whatever reason we were on vacation or something. And we're like, what is going on on the TV? There's just as my lowest low speed car Jason that had like 10 helicopters watching it. Oh, it's crazy. Okay, you are aware of cell phones that are size of the break? Yeah, actually seeing in touch. Those are pretty cool. Wearing a plastic rain coats to test to stay dry. I've
never done that before. But I've seen other people do. Well, these were all clear.
In the night. Yes. So you can Okay, so we'll give you a point for that one. All right. All right. All right. Coveting your friends Super Nintendo system. Nope. Nope. All right. Let's see. What are these? Oh, dear. Are you aware of what Lisa Frank notebooks are? Yes.
I love Lisa Frank. Not as a person. Lisa Frank
has these these ultra violet? Like super pink and blue. And like all these have
some of her I have a sticker collection. Right.
I'm gonna pop through a few more. Let's see. Oh,
it's on everything.
Eagerly taking pollution down to zero with Captain Planet. What are you aware of?
Is that like a show? Yes. Yes. I've heard of that show before the
point. Captain Planet was everybody watched that? I didn't. But everybody else did. Having a huge crush on at least one Saved by the Bell cast member.
I've seen one of them in person, but I haven't watched the show.
Yeah, we met Zach. Yes. Wishing your dad was as cool as Robin Williams and Mrs. Doubtfire. No idea. No idea what any of that. I noticed
out fires, like a show or movie as a movie. Yeah, so I thought
oh, thinking Zima was the height of adult sophistication.
I don't know what Zima is.
Does it exist anywhere? It doesn't know it was a an alcoholic drink. Ah that they had an ad campaign that was like insane about how much they spend on ads. Okay, let's see. Slap bracelet banned. Oh, yeah.
We had something banned. We don't have much things banned at my new school. But at my old school, it was very strict because it's
a charter school. Yeah, they banned everything. Yeah, they banned like Beyblades are kind of reasonable. Yeah, yeah, they can go fly. Practicing the Macarena in the mirror. Yes. It's not in the mirror. But I didn't know how to do that in the mirror. It's like you know, it's super easy. You know what you look like doing it. Live smackers. You're aware of look smackers. Let's see. Oh, thinking that the Gameboy Color was the pinnacle of tech innovation. No, that was that
was a thing. Yeah, that was a thing they can see some of these still apply today. It's like, oh, oh, here's one that you want to understand. being disappointed when your disk mins anti skip protection didn't deliver. Do you have any idea what that means?
Oh, thing you can wear on you that has a CD player, or is a CD player. And you plug your earphones in and you're like, we'll go walk in. And then it skips. Yeah,
yeah, it skips because that is that tiny little laser. Yeah, the slightest bump into jumps tracks. Yeah. How anti skip work, is it there was multiple lasers. And it was actually playing from the laser that was behind the first laser. And it essentially had memory. That's cool. So it would like and it would Yeah, it was really neat how it all worked, but knowing all the words to Weezer's blue album. Okay,
how can I talk about that? I know all the words to the Weezer
I don't know Yeah. Sam.
My name is Jonah is
is that it's our our LD word rule. Yes. Using ironic incorrectly thanks to all this madness. Yes. The moot the song ironic while on is Morissette is not none of the things that she mentions are ironic. That's the irony. They're just bummers. Yeah,
it's funny because my English teacher played that song for us when we're talking about irony. Oh, yeah, yeah.
All right, so let's see singing the log a song from Ren and Stimpy. What? The log song I
don't know that it
was a take off on the original. What's the what's the toy, the spring toy? slinky slinky. It was a takeoff on the original slinky commercial. And it was a song. But instead of a slinky toy, it was just literally a log that they were trying to sell you. And it was a log. log log. It's big. It's heavy. It's wood. It's log log. It's better than bad. It's good. Yeah, you've heard it before. I've sung it before and the car probably Anywho. Gearing up gearing up for y2k. Ah, what was what was y2k? It
was like this big crisis where everyone thought that like the world was gonna explode because the computers weren't gonna set back. Or the computers didn't know what to do. After 99
Okay, so back in the olden days, dates on computers were stored, as you know, 8990 9192 instead of 1989 1991 You know, so, everybody was like, oh, no, the computers are gonna think it's the year 1900 when it when it rolls over. 2000 The computers are gonna flip out and to be fair, no more right. But like people acted like it was gonna be like, straight up apocalypse. Like like it would be now if all our computers shut down, but we get crazy about computer shut down now. But lose
our job. Like like little said, like, everything would explode like the planet would explode. exploiters. Yeah,
I think computers malfunction.
I stopped keeping points. Dang it.
How dare you.
Okay, so let's see what's another what's on the another one that that would? That's kind of entertaining. We could talk about hearing the Tickle Me Elmo laugh in your sleep? Yes.
I'm pretty sure I've had that before. Didn't I have one of those? No, I didn't.
You didn't have a Tickle Me Elmo. You had the rock band Elmo. Oh, when you were really small sing with sing along or sing with me Elmo or something like that? Yeah,
it's not like that. And then I got chewed up by the dog and I got traumatized. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well,
hey, pager codes major chord.
Oh, are those like the beepers? Yes. What's the 143? Yep. Yeah, I know those pager codes. Yeah.
So let's see. Oh, are you aware of what the Legends of the Hidden Temple? Huh? I've heard of it before? Okay, so it was a game show. And like you had to answer trivia questions, but then you also had to run through this, like, hidden temples, kind of like American Gladiators where like, the temple guards would try and stop you. So alright, so la looks? Nope. It was a, as you just call it product. Like, you know, like hair gel and stuff like that. But it was everywhere for
teenagers. Gotcha. All right. So we're gonna go into a couple of facts. Some of these have stuff to do with what we were just talking about in 1999, which led to take gas and what a gallon of gas cost.
50 cent?
I wish $1.22 I remember my senior year getting down to 78 cent at one point. All right. So the Macarena? We talked about that earlier. Colin Powell. I think he was the Secretary of Defense, or something like that, even to the ocarina. And we had let's see. 95 Oh, talking about OJ Simpson. During his trial, 95 million Americans watched the Oj oj simpson verdict on television. Oh, wow. Because they televise the whole trial. I remember I was in middle school. Want to say fifth or sixth
grade? Because yeah, cuz we were in the fifth, fifth grade, sixth grade building. And they stopped everything and had all the kids go to the two rooms and the whole building that had TVs. So we could all watch it because they're like, this is history. And it I mean, we're talking about it's 2024 now, so yeah, okay, so this this one makes me wonder if AI wrote this or if the person's just woefully misinformed. To get online you had to use dial up or Netscape. Net Netscape was a web browser.
So that's like saying you had to use you have to use broadband or Google Chrome. I don't know. Oh, broadband is just super fast internet. Like are always on internet connection we have. Yeah. Okay, so let's see, except for when it's not. In 1994 61 million people were using pagers. Wow, let's see did I have one in 94? And I didn't get mine until like 95 or 96? Probably Probably 96 is when I got for my first pager. Mom
wanted to keep up with me. You know, she'd send me a message either call or go find a payphone or use somebody's phone. Let's see. The most watched television series in 1993. Our most watched television episode was the cheers finale. Your watch cheers. No, that's what Fraser Yeah, that's where Fraser originally came from. The best selling selling VHS tape in the 90s was Aladdin. Yeah. Do you
know what a VHS tape is? Yes. Oh, well, let's see. Oh, talking about Tamagotchis earlier 76 million Tamagotchis were sold. That's a lot a little little screens. Right is yeah. Let's see the Nintendo Gameboy was the most popular portable console. best selling novel. The 1990s was the Alchemist by Paulo coral cola hole. I haven't ever read it. Nokia was the most popular cell phone. Those invincible little, little blue phones. They can play Snake on light bright was the best selling game in
1991. That is pretty cool. Like rights funds. Yeah, those are the most popular snack in the 90s was a fruit roll up.
Yeah, I agree with that.
I agree with fruit roll ups. I agree with that. Oh my gosh. Barbie Dreamhouse was the best selling toy in 1999. In the same year, Bill Gates was worth $90 billion in 1999. Bill Gates, yes. Minimum Wage more than that. No minimum wage was for 25 an hour. Nice. Everything was cheaper too. So it all came out in the wash. Tetris was played in space. A first video game we played in space. Yeah. Wow. Vanilla Ice is Ice Ice Baby was originally a beside. It's not meant to be like his big
breakout single. Yeah. Are you aware of what a ThighMaster is? Yes. Are you aware of what a mood ring is?
Yes, we have both.
They were invented by the same person.
Oh my gosh,
I didn't know that. So that's a fun.
That's a fun fact.
Fun fact, we finally got one on this episode. Okay, so I'm gonna give you a slang Rebecca Quizzing. I'm gonna give you a slang and you tell me what it what it means. You already talk to the hand?
Because the face don't understand. No, because
the face ain't listening. What? Talk to the hand because the face ain't Listen, Stan. No, it has to rhyme. They changed it. Because we didn't rhyme in the 90s Excuse me? Totally. We did not. It was not cool to run. Was it? We didn't rhyme in the 90s I'm telling you. Okay, baby talk. Talk to the hand. No, okay. Anyway,
as if, Yeah, that one's more like a you gross. Right? I say if I would ever
ever dot dot dot Boo yeah. That's kind of self explanatory. It's just like, I don't want to be almost scrub.
Like a like a black guy. Yeah,
yeah. Not
it's kind of like a kind of like a It's just what it says.
It was everywhere. Like it was in movies and stuff. You'll be like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll definitely go to the movies with you. No.
No, the ball oh sorry. We got it. We got a red line reached like an inch
that's what a compressor is for. A Monet? No idea you don't know what a Monet is? You watch clueless who was on clueless Alright, so a Monet is someone who from far away looks good. But when you get up close they're a hot mess. Yeah. It's like a thumb someone who's real good looking in the thumbnail but then you actually make it bigger on the screen. You're like, Oh, yeah. i
All right. Yeah. crunk. I don't even know how to explain.
It just kind of it's almost self explanatory. crunk. Whatever. Yeah. To say you have to say it like that though. What ever? Because that's how it was. Fly.
Pretty fly for a white guy. Yeah.
I fly pretty pretty fly. Right? Cool. Pretty cool. There you go. getting jiggy.
Like getting down? Yeah, yeah. So like it's fine with that. So I use
this for bugging out. Like,
like Tori Spelling sighs
Oh, that was me. All right. Okay, so yeah, bugging out. like freaking out. Yeah. Yeah, like and it's funny now because like, I think of like a bug out bag. I think of bugging out is like, a bug out bag is when you have a bag, like a backpack or suitcase that is full of all the necessities that you would need. If you had to leave your house for an extended period of time. It's called a bug out bag. So open a can of
them apples. No, I don't know. Open a can of whoop.
What? Nevermind. What? We'll just skip it. Skip it. I think folks know what it means. We'll talk about it later as kids show. A family show. You go girl. That's that's all that and a bag of chips. Yeah. These stories is that still used today? People still ever say that. Just kind of ironically. Not actual, ironically. But what ironically means now?
Not really.
We don't say it anymore. Home skillet.
homeschool it dude are using that. I need to bring that back. That's so funny.
Bring home skillet back.
I'm gonna bring homeschooling back. I've already brought back a word, word,
word, but you do the W E or D version. Word. Kick him to the curb. Yeah, just come down with him. That's not really 90s
not really gonna care about him anymore.
Some of these are just kind of self explanatory, like there. But yeah, that's so that's some slang from the 90s. Yes. And yeah, I think I think we just we just did a nice little nostalgic trip.
I want to talk about our modern slang.
I want to talk about the modern slang. Yeah, let's get some. Why not? Oh, because if anybody listens to it, you're gonna be like, yes. I had to explain sling to my dad. No,
I kind of want to do it. But I'm not explaining Janelle for because I'm not part of that. I do not accept
that. What is I don't understand when the generation splits are. What's that?
What was that? It's good. It's been going on for like a minute. Now.
Let me pause it. That was spooky. It's not recording. Yes, it's red.
Is it right? Is it Oh, okay. I didn't know it was recording it was red. And that makes sense, because it's counting up. But
I thought it was the yellow. We heard a noise and I don't know what it was. Like someone
was like sneezing, but like in a different room. No other rooms. Yeah, we're
here. We're like air gapped from anything for a good distance. It was weird. Maybe there's a ghost. So while she's looking that up, I want to tell everybody I got the fence fixed up with a tree fall on it and went out there with a little chainsaw. My dad bought over his big chainsaw. And I was trimming all the smaller limbs off with the little one. And he was chopping the trunk into big sections. And then we fixed the fixed defense up. I had an extra pole laying around and we're all
good to go. Was it only took like an hour? wasn't wasn't that big of a deal. The the tree fell like dead center between the posts. I'm just keeping y'all super entertained.
This is This is scary.
Oh no. What did you What did you look up make sure like
ahead. I know what most of these mean. I'm gonna
talk about the Super Soaker. Super Soaker was in the 90s. And it was my favorite. They had a whole line of these amazing water guns that would shoot really strong beams of water at your enemy. And we used to have epic water fights out the backyard or my buddy Sam's house because he had just like the best backyard for water fights. There's something going on I keep hearing stuff. Maybe there's a little a little good stuff going on. Is there a spooky ghost in the studio?
Hello, ghost. Why? Alright, so what do you have a couple. All right, let's let's hear him. Let's hear him. We can always edit if we have to. Yeah,
I'm trying to find one. That's you know, legit. Legit? Yeah. A Mag. Mag. Yeah. What's a mag like a magazine? Like a? Like you read a magazine?
But is it talking about a magazine?
It's talking about magazine gun magazine. Well, it can mean both, I guess. Yeah.
Cuz if you say a mag typically you're talking about the magazine on a firearm. If you're shook. What does that mean? If you're shook that means like, like, unstable because just like something's bald, like, Oh, no. That frightened me. I'm shook. Like I'm shaking because of the thing that just happened.
Like you stand. Yeah. Not necessarily like jogging. Yeah, no, but yeah,
you know, I mean, like, Stan, that's that was the word I was looking for. Yeah, it wasn't coming to mind because I heard another spooky noise. Something's going on out here. There's something spooky going on. Sports.
Do you want to pause again?
Are you good? Oh, good. I'm just gonna sit here. Keep keep my head on a swivel in case I get attacked by ghosts.
This is Yeah.
All right, what else we got? Okay,
so we got
what else we got drip, drip. That's talking about talking about somebody's clothing, right? Yeah, like their style, their style in their particular clothing. What does it mean about their style? It means that it's like, it's just like, really good and cool. Yeah, like you're the coolest. Like he's got drip means that he dresses well, and I appreciate his style. Yeah.
A lot of these words are only like popular people words. Like,
Oh, yes. This Tiktok language. Yeah, that's what that's what it all is.
Do you know what like living rent free?
Yes, that is when you are constantly thinking about something. It means it's living rent free in your head. I mean, yeah, always.
I think you're kind of caught up. I'm not gonna talk about Jen Alfa slang because oh my gosh, I use some of that. I consider myself kind of like, prominently. Oh, yeah. What's yours? Right on the edge. A lot of sites say 20 tends to cut off and a lot of sites say 2012 cut off, but are for Gen Z. But I'm kind of, I'm in 2010. So okay, so let's see.
And see these. No, they're all approximate years. Now. This one doesn't go as one don't go to that says Gen
Z ends on 2012. Right? Like, what are these generations post
millennials? Okay, so this this site says the generations defined? The Silent Generation was 28 to 45. Boomers is 46 to 64. Gen X is 65 to 80. I see I consider myself Gen X. But yeah,
maybe it's just because you're like, like, NAFTA. Yeah,
it's, you know, it's three years give or take either way, generally. Yeah. It's not like a hard cut off. I feel like when you're on the cusp, like that I
can kind of millennial in you. But yeah, I can see a tiny, tiny bit. Mom, there's mostly
there's a there's you know, influence. Yeah, there always is. But anyway, Gen Z is 97 to 2012. Yeah. And after that would be alpha. So,
so 2011 forward, or no 20 Give
or give or take, give or take, because it depends on which site you're on. Like this one says Gen X ended in 79. There's one that says 84. So there's everybody has their own take on it. Yeah, I think that within five years of like, whatever the they say the official is, I think there's kind of a buffer, where you're kind of on the cusp. Yeah. xennials is what they're called xennials on the when you're on the cusp of Gen X and Millennial
would you call it his alpha z alpha. I really liked that. Call myself as alpha. Actually, no, I'm not Gen Z. Because I hate that.
Actually. Just call yourself a genetics. What Gen X. Just say I'm Gen X.
Now I'm a boomer sorry. Actually.
That's all just labels. You know, labels are they're never 100% on
I only use a little bit of Gen. Alpha slang because it's really funny that they use it, right? Like some of them are just funny as irony, but I've started using them like, not ironically.
Okay, so I'm gonna look up while we're while we're here and we're doing this traits of Gen Z of generations. Gen. Gen Z generation, journey or journey Gen. Two generations. Okay, understanding the characteristics of different generations I didn't want to chart I don't want to read Haha, I want to charge you really every show. Okay, so let's see. Like liking for stress create what? I don't understand what this means dominant personality traits across generations. Okay,
so we're just gonna go back to Baby Boomers. leads by percentage idealism. Democratic pneus social confidence. Are there big traits? Gen X competitiveness, social adaptability and collaboration lab o return Gen Y, risk taking emotional stability. intellectual curiosity. That's the millennials Gen Z. Liking for stress. I don't know. I don't know what that means. Creativity and motivation. So this is from research, research. gate.net. Okay, um, so I'm
trying to find like a better chart. I know it's what I'm doing. Oh, actually read generations at the workplace. All right. Okay, so the personality characteristics core values for baby boomers, optimism and involvement involvement. For Genesis because it just only goes to Gen Y. This is lame. That's
lame. That's lame. Come on, man. That's why it's in the workplace. Oh, yeah, I guess that makes sense work yet. Or some Gen Z doesn't work yet.
I guess that's makes sense. Yeah. So Gen X skepticism fun and formality. That's, that's true. Generation Y realism, confidence, extreme fun and social.
Like you're having too much fun. I'm gonna slide down this slide. Great if you're just peeking everywhere this episode. Oh my gosh.
Okay, let's see education. A dream a birthright. Okay. Veterans is a dream. Boomers is a birthright X is a way to get there. And y is an incredible experience. For they consider education. What? for education? Yeah, but
what does that mean? Oh, okay. You're just so education. Yes.
I'm telling you. This is what it says. Okay. Veterans say that education is a dream that boomers say education is a birthright. Okay. Gen X says education is a way to get there. And Generation Y says education is an incredible expense. Not experience expense. Yes. Read though.
All right. So that was confusing. Yeah.
How do they how do they deal with money? Veterans, put it away pay cash. That's the greatest generation baby boomers by now pay later. Gen X cautious conservative save save save. Generation Y earn it to spend it? Yeah. Honestly. Yes, most young people. So if you would have done that, that chart years ago, they did an extra events. Now. I don't know. Again, these are all just general generalities.
So all right, well, I gotta start adding home skillet to my
Yes. I'm going to make sure that you get I'm going to tattoo it on your arm. Yeah. So that you'll remember to use it regularly. And like really janky letters to write. It has to be a 90s 90s.
