was up. Yo, yo, homies and home yo, yo back. So, welcome to Fun Fact Friday. Right? We do fact sometimes we have fun every time. We have fun every time and it's always on Friday. I think well get some time. Yeah. Friday because of the best days. So Dad, what are we doing this week? Whoa, we switched it up after 138 episodes. Finally we are going to pick up peck of pickled peppers. Are we going to chuck some wood pick a woodchuck? Yep. What do you know we've talked about

tongue twisters. But first, we have a message for Elon Musk. reached out to ligands we have been to say raid shadow legends because that's always what you will get sponsored by raid shadow leggings. Maybe a t shirt idea, or leggings. I guess. I can make some leggings. Make some leggings with rage, Shadow, rage shadow. If you're not familiar with the show, if you're one of our new listeners, and we know we have a whole lot of new listeners, because we were one of the top shows on

fountain in the past week for Satoshi donations. Welcome to Fun Fact Friday with Leland, David. I'm David ASO. David No, she's Leila. She's my daughter's she is 13 I'm 40 some, we're just gonna talk about that. We're not gonna talk about how old I am. We're pretty much every week, pick a topic and talk about it. And we typically have some some good facts for

you. And we're kind of only half research so we can be surprised on the show when we find something really interesting, especially when we're doing this episode because we wanted to not say too many right and this episode we are going to talk about tongue twisters. And to tell you about different types of tongue twisters, we're going to try and go through some tongue twisters. And try not to say any swear words, because a lot of them

have they try and get you. Yeah, but we have a message for Elon Musk. He wanted to come on the show, because we want to get some straight facts from him that are fun. Seems like it'd be a fun fun guy to talk to you about some fun facts. And we're just going to call them out every episode until he comes on the show. So if you know Ilan, past tweeted at him. Get a hold of them tell him we need some facts that are fun. So even if he just comes on and says one word, he'll be

satisfied. It's mainly because it would a it would be fun to talk to him and be I think it would probably get us some downloads. What do you think? Maybe. Now we're not we're not big on stats or downloads or anything like that. It's exciting when we have a good week or something happens. The reason we were on the list, this past this past week is because we got a lot of Satoshi

donations. And one of them put us over the top and there's a little bit of funny story behind it also Dreb Scott, as our regular listeners know and listeners to a lot of other podcasts know, the Bruce Wayne of podcasting 2.0 donated 234567 G's, so 234,567 sets now we've, I believe that's the biggest Satoshi Satoshi donation we've ever received. And you see that's where the problem lies. I have been a bad node manager. And we did not have a channel big enough to receive that big

of a donation. Yeah, so the donation failed. But Dreb reached out to me on Mastodon and let me know your server your your channels are a little little skinny there I tried to send a big fat donation through it and it didn't fit. So I got a hold of I got up on on Macedon and ask somebody opened Big Fat Channel to me and Adam curry got a hold of me from a podcast index and opened up a nice big channel. So we've got some incoming liquidity now we can receive Bigger, bigger

donations. So Dreb went ahead and reset that. And and we did get all the Satoshis. And then we also received some from a couple of users who did not have like registered usernames on fountain fountain.fm. It's a modern podcast app where you can send these Bitcoin donations through the Lightning Network. The users it just had Has usernames and there's no messages attached. So thank you. Whereas two five hundreds and one 100 Sat, donations but a special thank you to Dreb Scott.

That is an amazing big baller boost. I don't have the big baller clip to get we're going to or at the sing our own. You can play the piano on it. We could do a duet. Piano ukulele and automaton yay, go. Go. We're gonna make a new big baller boost. It's gonna we will crazy. But yes, thank you so much. Oh, there was a note on the Dreb Scott. I'm trying to get my phone out. I was trying to get my phone out. Oh, I have an important survey about my

vehicle. Yeah, the note is it's easier to get to on my phone. I found it okay. Such a fun show to listen to with the family in the car. My six year old daughter is obsessed with the show and its female co host. That's Leila me. She also loves chapter art and always begs to hold my phone so she can watch the images change for the chapters. I love you to random citizen. If you haven't checked, Yo, man, you're breathtaking, breathtaking. If you

haven't checked out the show, give it a shot. It's fun and a quick listen. Yeah, we try and keep the show around around between 20 and 30 minutes. A lot of times we go over because we get to talk about this or that we try quote unquote, we do what we can. Oh my gosh, since I opened my phone, I had three junk mail messages pop in my inbox, or spam calls while I'm at school. Does it come back to my phone during dismissal? And I'm like I have three missed calls from random numbers

all about your car's warranty expiring, apparently. But yes, thank you Dr. Dreb. Also does the chapter art and chapter file for the show. If you're using a modern podcast app that has chapters you'll be seeing once he gets done with that when you'll be seated, be able to see the art that he picks out for each chapter and any links that he decides to put in there. Sometimes you put some really funny jokes with emojis and oh

my goodness whatnot, it's good stuff. So even if you listen to the show pretty early in the chapters on him there yet pop back in and and flip through the art Dreb is really good at what he does. So thank you so much Dreb And that's that's it for the donation segments were value for value. So we don't have a specific amount and we don't put anything behind a paywall. It's all free to listen to if you get something out of it, send

something back. Speaking of that, sorry, before we get into our tongue twisters there's a lot of exciting stuff going on with the show. We're in our new studio. We have the merch store up stored up FunFactFriday.com And we have stickers. I got some cod pastor stickers made up from a tongue twister or is a slip up that Leila did a couple episodes ago. We commissioned an artist to do a cod pastor work of art. And it's beautiful. I love it. But we I ordered a bunch of stickers. If you're a listener

to the show, and you want some stickers. Drop us a line mail at FunFactFriday.com Fun Fact Friday one on Twitter or at Fun Fact Friday at social dot meet us media.com On Mastodon, you can get a hold of us and we will send out some stickers. We would always appreciate any help because you know postage and whatnot. But if don't let that deter you from asking for one, because we have quite a few of these stickers and we just want folks to have them. So I think that's it for housekeeping. What

was the song we made up for Elon Musk? I can't remember. Elon Musk. He's got rockets. Well, no. We had what was it to the tune of? I have no idea why Gosh, it wasn't like anyway, we were goofing around the other night we were talking about. You make songs I missed about Walmart one time. We went to Walmart. She sings a lot about about stuff. Some of it some of it's a bop but most of the time, you're just like no. So you know how people will have inner monologues after apparently

I don't have an inner monologue. I just have music. Like I'm just a radio in my head. So you just always got music playing I always have music playing in my head like right now I have I have a song stuck in my head. It's always a different song every time I check. I'm like, Wait, this is different from two hours ago. You know? So don't blisters. Oh, good. Good news. We have news as I've said. And now Fun Fact Friday

good news. We only do good News on the show because we're not all about that negative stuff. We try to stay away from negativity on this show. On the show. Yes. We're going to talk about that comment later. We do try and stay positive in our normal lives. Speaking of staying positive, a 77 year old woman gets married in her nursing home. Wait, do you have a touchscreen? Yes. Oh my gosh, you just touched his screen to move to a different tab my laptop. This is not new technology.

I know. But I'm just flabbergasted because I've never seen you use it. But I didn't know what the HP Envy x 360 is like a 10 year old like, I don't know, it's old. In third grade, and we would use Chromebooks there was a single laptop. That was touchscreen, sorry. Going off on a tangent. There was a single laptop that was touchscreen, and everyone would try and call call dibs. Like the first one to get to the computer cart. Or

the get touchscreen on this is extremely accurate. So you know your art pad that you have your drawing your drawing screen. Yeah, your huiyuan or whatever it is. Yeah. This is, yeah, this is as accurate as that when I use the pen with it. I have a stylus that I got for it. So it's a really good, really good screen. I like it, but the laptop itself is getting old. But back to the news. We didn't mean to you off the tangent. So a 77 year old woman lands her dream wedding to herself.

This is me when I'm 70 This is from today.com This old lady. Well, this young lady has a nursing home. Thank you. She Her name is Dottie or Dorothy. But people call her Dottie. She decided that she just wanted to celebrate herself. She said you know what? I've done everything else. Why not? I'm gonna marry myself. And in the show notes, there's a link to the article and there's a little video and it's just like when you think a little old nice lady. The image

you have in your head right now. This is that lady. And she just had a whole wedding white dress, you know had the beautiful Yeah, the preacher there and did the whole thing. So I thought that was I was just a cute fun story. She said I was nervous. But then I was happy. describing her feelings on that day. Guess what, Dad? What? I finally did it. You have a story that's not about an animal. How did you do that? How did you read my mind? Anyways, mine's

about science cuz I like science. Chinese scientists have developed a mid air ceramic 3d printing. So you know. Talk, okay, you know how when you 3d print something it has supports to keep it up? Are you? Well, they figured out how to not. They did it. Yay. So a team from Jing non University has enabled ceramic curves to freely extend in space without support opening a monopoly of additional applications for the already widely used technology of ceramic. This is a tongue

twister in itself, right? ceramics are used at high levels of engineering technology and aerospace computer and mechanical engineering because of the structural stability. Where's the sense of high temperature endurance? So this 3d printer just is really good at it. So using near infrared light can solidify certain ceramic structures with this

thin dimensions. Oh okay, so I guess it's kind of like the resin printers right but in the air yeah but in the air seven will be pool the resin so it's like as it's coming out of the nozzle the ceramic it's the light is solidifying it instantly. That's a better idea. Printers. That's why I thought they were the ceramic is probably really hard to work with. As opposed to the resin maybe. But we we've been looking at 3d printers lately and profit off

of it. Yeah, we could make money on them. There's a lot of people out there who just make parts for things and sell them on Etsy or whatever I was saying about making cosplay props. I knew a guy who would make stands for audio equipment. And make like 60 or 80 bucks off each one it was like a dollars worth of filament. So he would just set the printer to print one. Wow. And then it was like like if you had the road cat and we got the road caster. It would be like a stand that would make it stand

up like this angle like iron angle. So you could but you know it had to be certain dimensions and stuff for their equipment especially especially. So he would you know, rig it up design it up and ship off a dollars worth of plastic to them and make a whole bunch of money. Cool. So it's yeah, there's there's lots of ways you can make money the 3d printer. But yeah, that's our that's our good news stories.

This concludes the good news of the show. Don't I still didn't fix the the volume on the Chi labour clip for the end of the show. Oh, well, I've been Okay, so we're 15 minutes. And we ever started talking about the main topic yet. This is. I mean, we were talking about the stuff. Oh my gosh, we have five minutes. Let's go. Okay, I've been doing a bunch of computer stuff this week and things set up in the studio and I had to format in the laptop because it was just

oh my gosh, I had to tell them, what do you have to tell? So for my costume for the skirt, I need some LED panels. And I was looking on super bright leds.com And I had the thing that I was gonna buy, I was about to buy it. Like I had my card out and everything. And I was like, All right, let me let me go into this. And I refresh the page. And they were sold out

somebody bought them right out from underneath. And they're discontinued so they're not gonna they're not gonna make the wrong clearance which is why there were like $2 a piece and I was like steel, you know, like I was so mad. So, to do. Tongue twisters there are a tongue twisters are phrases difficult to articulate properly, is essentially what a tongue twister is just because of the way that the sentence is structured in the lot of times it has lots of the same

consonants in it, especially S's and peas. It's kind enough to say I don't know I just turned Italian there. I did that Italian didn't see enough to say you know what video eventually you were like, You know what I like to do? What do you like to do? You know how there's like stuff people say in Brooklyn, like I am walking here. Nobody says that. But okay. I know. Being a stereotypical stuff. I like to say that in an Italian accent because it's funny. Hey, um, whoa, can he

make it a pizza? Okay, so now there was a there was a guy in New York who was mad aside anyway, he was like, Hey, I'm walking here. And it was a tourist who said it and a real New Yorker grabbed him by the shoulder was like No my god no, just shoot him out. I looked that up. I don't have my notepad out here yet. I write it down. I'd made put it in the show notes but don't quote me on that. For the shirt, right.

Tongue twisters they rely on rapid alteration between similar but distinct fino sums which is you know I'm dead. On let me let me click the word finos your finger on your screen clicking over here. Fina homes are a unit of phone. That can what? Wikipedia man me with my phone phobia is a unit of phone that can distinguish from one word from another in a particular language. Okay, all right. Well,

I didn't understand that. But okay, it's okay. If a noisy noise or noise annoying in an annoying, noisy, noisy, noisy and onion more. I haven't heard that one. That's a new one for me. Really? Yeah. The one that I always think of is how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? a woodchuck would chuck all the wood? He could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Say that's too much. I always say as much wood as a woodchuck. I was a woodchuck could if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Oh, that's what your dad taught me. Yeah. I haven't heard this news. Okay, this is my first time ever trying to trying this tongue twister right. Okay, there we go. Betty Botter bought a bit of butter. The buddy. The butter Betty Botter bought was bet a bit better and made her better batter bitter. But a bit of better butter makes better

batter. So Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter. Oh my gosh. Making better Betty's botters bitter, better better. I have a shorter version. That was hard. I'm just wondering. When's the butter butter butter but could make her better bitter so she better buy some better butter. I have the shorter version. Yeah, that's a little different to red Rubber baby buggy bumper, bounce.

Rubber baby buggy, right? rubber banding that one's really tough for me I know people do that in like the choir industry not industry like technically is an industry there are people who make money at it so that's an industry the choir industry as we all know. As you all know big choir you ever heard the conspiracy theory about big choir? We got the big pharma we got the big choir. Buildings right next to each other. Oh my gosh. Oh, a box of mixed biscuits with the

box biscuit mixer. I'm decent at tongue twisters. Yeah, I'm okay. I'll get them like that noisy noise when some tongue twisters are used for speech practice and vocal warm ups. Yeah. This one is the example on Wikipedia of that. The lips, the teeth, the tip of the tongue, the tip of the tongue, the teeth, the lips. I've heard that one was I used to I used to have something I said before I went on to do a voice acting stuff when I was getting getting things ready.

Oh, I can't remember what it is. And I won't remember. I knew one. Hold on, hold on hold on. So other types of tongue twisters derive their humour from producing vulgar results, which only when performed incorrectly? Should I know? I can always bleep stuff. I mean, yeah. Let's see. One smart feller. He felt smarter. Sorry, no. One smart feller. He felt smart. Two smart fellas. They both felt smart. Three smart fellas. They all felt smart.

Dude, there's a photo that I saved into an Angry Bird and it's like you're either a smart fellow or a fart smeller I guess I mean that that's what they were trying to get. I know right? But either smart filler for smella so this is the top one most difficult tongue twister in the world according to Reader's Digest. Pad kid poured curd pulled cod. That was really easy. So Pad kid poured curd, pulled cod. It's easy. That's easy. My man. Reader's Digest. What do you do when numina

Walter silica? Mineral Ultra microscopic silica go volcanica Yo Yo is like I didn't say Okay, so like we could forward we could probably sit down and come up with our own tongue twisters based on the information in this next part of the article. So based on the MIT confusion matrix of 1616 120 single phenom errors. The phenom with the greatest margin of error in speech is i i love MIT. Wait,

no, l le. I don't know it has to be has to be L mistaken for are the other genomes that have a high level of speech errors include s mistaken for S H. So as mistaken for which makes sense with the seashell C set she's you notice for F for P, which I'm going to go into that in a minute, are for L, W for R. And and of course there's many more it's like well, then why don't list dessert limited number of characters allowed on

Wikipedia. Anyway, these sounds are most likely to transform to similar sound when placed near in the near vicinity to each other. Most of these mix ups can be attributed to the two films having similar areas of articulation in the mouth. So that makes sense. So the the F and the P and I was B. Okay, so there's this thing called the McGurk effect. Okay. It's, you're gonna have to look it up on YouTube, because you need video for it. And what it

is, have you seen this one? The fall in the bar in the fall? No. Okay. So the sound that you hear is directly tied to what you're seeing when you hear it. Okay, if I sat in front of you and played an audio clip of full, full, full Oh, wait, I have heard of this because V Sox did a little video on it. There you go. And then there's Bo I love these. Crazy Yeah. But the distinct F sound they Your your mouth makes when

you're saying versus, you know the lip. Yeah, shapes. If someone's mouth is doing the F sound, but the sound you're hearing is the b sound, you will hear the F sound, you'll hear what you're seeing, instead of what you're actually hearing. Yeah, here's a video on the merch, the merch, the MacBook, but it doesn't really work on audio only. Yeah. So actually, here's it, here's a test, here's what we're going to do. Take this podcast that you're listening to right now. And get your phone

out. And, and put the phone speaker on, sit in front of somebody else and have them sync up their lips. I am going to say bah, bah, bah with a B and have them say, Ah, but not actually say anything. Just make the FDA sound with their mouth. And then listen to me say this and I'm going to do it in that that tone. So look at their lips. And listen to me. Bah, bah, bah, bah. Now, you can go back and rewind and listen without

looking at anything I'm saying. Bah, bah, bah, but if they're doing the F sound with their mouth, you're gonna hear far from me. Is my is my computer. Sound up on the road? Yeah, the Bluetooth is up. Sure. Yes, but I'm halfway down the videos loud. Okay. Hey, Dad, this is you. It's not up. You're a lawyer. You are a liar. There is no sound coming from there. Is there is I have it playing with mine and sound. Bluetooth and other devices. This is great show Taunton. It

is it's connected. It's connected. Well, nevermind. Oh, anyway. Anyway, I was gonna play the dog a wisdom thing. Ba no ba dog. Ba ba ba ba ba put it in the show. All right. Did you have any more tongue twisters? You want to do? Very many. Okay, we'll go through them. Okay, let's see. I'm gonna take a drink on my team start at the top. Please peel this peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper packed. Surely Charlize shall sell Sheila's seashells by the

seashore. Which which wishes to switch a which wristwatch for her Swiss rich watch. The last wristwatch always gets me alone. How much wood could watch I wish I could have wood. knapsack strap snap. The skunk sat on top of it stunk in stunk the stumps dunk, but the stump thunk in the sunk skunk. No. The skunk sat on a stump in thunk the stump stunk. But the stump thunk the skunk stunk. So, basically this whole story skunk was sitting on

the stump and thinking about how the stump stunk. But the thump was stinky the the stump was thinking stunk sunk gunk stump was thinking that the skunk stag like smelly you know that not many anemone is a name above the m&m Mini. I'm sorry not to say it correctly. Not many. En Ananda me is enamoured of VNN and me and then to me. I'm saying it right. Not many and an enemy is enamoured of an enemy an enemy. An enemy an enemy. Okay, so these are like long. Tongue Twisters. There's also

the type of tongue twister that are just they're very short. But then they're like, say it five times fast. Right? Yeah. Okay, so I'm gonna I'm gonna give you one and you're gonna try and say it five times fast without messing up. All right, okay. Unique. New York. Unique New York. Unique New York, New York. You got to Alright, I'm ready to love. You're ready. Yeah, red leather yellow leather. That's what I used to say. I used to Yes, you did. Red, yellow, yellow. Red leather

New EEG. Boys. I was trying to say at the same time as me that's what it was. It wasn't New York, New York, New York. New York. All right. This is riveting content, right. This is this is the instinctive and extinct insect stings. Growing grey goats graze great green grassy groves. I hate that one. Also weird to say but it's here we go. Hold on down fed. The sign language equivalent of a tongue twister is called a finger humbler?

Whoa. According to Susan Fisher learning ASL, the phrase good blood Bad Blood is the tongue twister in English as well as a finger humbler and ASL? Interesting. I bet it is. I don't know what the sign for blood is. But I don't know. Yeah, Leila's found an app. That is Yeah, it's like Duolingo for ESL. It's pretty cool American Sign Language. We did an episode on sign language with a voice actor Kyle a bear. We did. We got we thought that'd be funny.

We did because he talks about voice acting all the time. Right. Like, let's flip it. Yeah, let's flip it. You don't want to you want to be like, you know, imagine questions over and over. Imagine managing the manager and an imaginary mid manager at menagerie Menagerie. Mix the box and mix biscuits with the box biscuit mixer. No. Why? Where are you finding all of these? I didn't find this many. This is on fact. monster.com Okay. She didn't know it.

So that'll be on the show notes if you want to try out. What we would love is if you would record yourself doing tongue twisters. Ladies, yeah. And send them over to us mail FunFactFriday.com Most phones have a voice recorder. Just crack that bad boy open. Save it as an mp3 If possible, just to save on space and shoot it over to us mail at Fun Fact. friday.com Or if you have a YouTube channel posted up there make it private. Send it to us make it public. I don't want to I'm not your boss.

Grim granny gummy grin when her greedy grandkids grilled Gracie Grilli. Grizz grim granny gummy grin when her greedy grandkids grilled greasy grizzly green, grilled cheese. That was really good. Thank you. Oh, my gosh, this. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, a peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked up Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers where the pickup Peter? Where did the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

Yeah, that's the full thing most people just do. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. And then leave it at that lame lame tongue twister Tuesday. So oh, wait, hold on. What is this I'm gonna click it. You've already bought or bought a bit of butter but she said this butter is better if I put it in my batter it will make my batter better so she bought a bit of butter better than her better butter and she put it in her batter and her batter was

not better. So it was better Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter. That's a bop Oh man. That needs that needs a beat because Hold up, hold up. We need to get a beat. Bada Bada bing the beat and she said this butter is better if I put it in my batter it will make my batter better. So she bought a bit of butter better than her better butter and she put it in her batter and her batter was not better. So it was better.

Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter. Maybe bought or bought a bit of butter but she said this butter is bitter if I can't make it stop there we go. Oh, that was that was that's fun. All right, folks. Oh my gosh, we've had fun I want I want to hear y'all doing some tongue twisters or if we didn't hit your favourite tongue twister shoot it over to us and we will try it one more and we're not going to do any that might make us say cuss words. Yes. That's just not our our jam.

We did some in the pre show though. Yeah, with just us too. We didn't do it live but this week's not live sometimes we do it live. Follow us on the socials to that we mentioned earlier to get live updates on when we're doing live shows or not some of the times our schedule says and allow it so. So one more. This one's long. And it has a bunch of ease in it. Okay, through three cheeses, trees, three free fleas. Bull flu. While these fleas flu Freezy breeze blue. Freeze,

please. Raise made these threes trees Freeze. Freeze the trees made these trees cheese fleas. Freeze. That's what made these three fleas. Free fleas sneeze? I did. I added a whole bunch of unnecessary words on there. All right, well, my tongue twister, How about yours? Yes. Sometimes when I'm recording lines for, for something for the voice acting stuff. The way that the sentences written will give me give me all tongue twisted. And what's crazy as I'll be

doing just fine. I'll read through, you know, two paragraphs perfectly fine. But then I'll hit one sentence. And it'll mess me up. And then I try and read essence again, it messes me up. He doesn't take me like 10 tries get through one sentence. And then I'll finally power through it and then just read the rest of the thing all in one go. It's like one thing will mess you up and then it gets inside your head that you've messed it up. On another note, and I'll bet a lot of

podcast listeners can relate to this. Have you ever been listening to something and you miss? Like, like, a small part of it? So you're winded to listen to it but you rewind back too far. And then right when they're about to say the thing that you missed? Something else distracts you and you miss it again. Yes. Like you see, yeah, and then like right you you you resume right back and then finally once you finally get back to it and actually listen to it, you're like, Oh, I didn't need that

information. Yeah. Yeah, that happens to me quite a bit because I'll be listened to a lot of lot of podcasts and whatnot. So it happens to me quite a bit. Y'all have a fantastic weekend everybody. We are gonna leave host up the episode. Be sure and have fun this weekend. Yeah, his his with boost also and leave us leave us a booster gramme. It doesn't have to be a big huge amount like drab we'd love that. But it doesn't have to be a couple 100 sets still if

you liked the show, and we'll see y'all next week. possibly live by got some tongue twisters for us. Kyle is probably gonna say the same thing he always says really? Request always says that is a Mitas media production that is quiet and a little bit like to help support the show. I don't know what he even says over at Fun Fact. friday.com He says Patreon. I don't know if our Patreon students fill up. Please like and subscribe. And join us next week for another Fun Fact Friday. Bye bye
