CYA. For those in healthy work environments that have never needed this acronym, it stands for Cover Your Ass. If you’ve ever worked with or for toxic people, you are all too familiar with this term. Covering your ass at work is a skill used when there is a lack of trust, integrity and accountability amongst employees and management. Most often this is our reality as full-time black women in corporate america where we are scapegoated, thrown under the bus or just required to prove our competency.
