Episode description

Do you have a corporate persona for white audiences? While this is not uncommon for some people, some may actually go as far as to give it a name. This is a level of code switching. It extends beyond simple enunciation and grammar to encompass tone, language style and mannerism. Some view it as a necessity for survival in professional settings. A way of disarming the majority to gain a seat at the table. But really, these personas are just a mask. A disguise used in hopes of gaining acceptance in circles where we’re considered an “other”.
