Leadership with the Guru, Mark Willis

On this episode, Linda and Dana talk to Mark Willis about how he realized his vision of being the leader of the largest real estate company, and what he’s learned about leadership along the way.  Mark started working at Coldwell Banker and helped grow it significantly, but every year Coldwell Banker kept losing to Keller Williams as the largest real estate company.  Gary Keller noticed Mark’s work at Coldwell Banker, called him and asked him to meet and discuss what he could do at Keller Williams.  Mark shares how when he met Gary he felt like he had met his business soulmate, and he became the first team leader of the original KW office.  By 2005, he was the CEO of the company and it was named the largest in the nation.  Mark shares how sometimes you feel like you’re moving backward to move forward, what he has learned about leading and hiring people, and how his HIWI approach to work has made him more effective.
