Epic Every Day

Evan & Liz Frerichswww.epiceverydaynow.com
We live in a world of overwhelm—not enough time, not enough energy, not enough money... the list of not-enoughness could go on and on. Most of us can only dream of finding margin. Most of us struggle to have time, energy, etc. to really fulfill God's calling in our lives, to be the people He's designed us to be. Without changing how we live, we will never find margin to thrive. Epic Every Day is about transforming each moment from the inside out, creating margin in that moment by using the CSC's. Living in the CSCs is a state of being; being calm, surrendered, centered, connected, and complete. They are an adaptation of Peter Ralston's Tai Chi principles and can also be found all over the Bible. Being in the CSCs can transform each moment into a place of freedom and enough-ness, no matter what your circumstances are.

Doubt and Micromanaging Are Love Killers

God cares more about you than I do. He cares more about your friends than you do, so why do you keep thinking you need to rescue them? Our culture tries so hard to avoid offense and hurt feelings that we often miss out on real love. Real love also involves constant reinforcements. Can’t just say ‘I love you’ once and for all, it needs to be heard again and again. God says this to us. Epic Every Day is available on Radio Public, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Sticher and YouTube. LOVE: We May Be Settling for Too Little

God will not be intimidated by our temper tantrums. His love is big enough to listen. It’s so big that sometimes we shy away from it because it’s too bright. C.S. Lewis said that sometimes we want too little from God. If we’re just looking for a warm fuzzy, we won’t find it because God’s love is more real than a nice feeling. How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

Doesn't God’s demand for our obedience make Him a tyrant? This is an emotional response, which is where we live. It takes developing new neural pathways to process God’s love. We don’t have to love God in return, we can choose to hate. This could cloud our judgment of His love for us because we think He could hate us in return. However, the Bible says He cannot. He is love. Epic Every Day is available on Radio Public, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Sticher and YouTube. Like us on Facebook: https:/...

That’s the Power of Love

It’s impossible to surrender to someone you don’t trust because you’re admitting their way is better than yours. Trusting someone is seldom about a big event, it’s a million little instances. God though, in one grand display on the cross, has eternally proved his love. We also talk about the power of self-sacrifice/redemptive themes in media. He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

What do you think about when you think about God? What are your assumptions about Him? Do you think about Love first? Growing deeper in love with God takes work—like any relationship. Feeling or thinking about love is not real love. How we understand or misrepresent God’s love as Christians either adds to or steals our calm and peace. Bracing For A Whirlwind of What-Ifs

The wall around your heart’s garden can get damaged over time. Fortunately, there are ways to maintain the wall. But unfortunately, it’s all to common for the cracks and holes in the wall to go untended—and then we just keep getting hurt by the same things over and over. We run into problems if we take it to the extreme too—if we build up the wall into an impenetrable fortress, braising for the unknown future. Yelling at God Through a Closed Door

What does it look like to keep the gate of your heart open to God? To really trust Him? Are you projecting something someone did on to God? Today on Epic Every Day Evan & Liz Frerichs talk about ways to open the door to God—to trust him again. When trauma is a part of the picture, it’s impossible to just trust God without doing some major healing work. Being a Good Gatekeeper

What’s the best criteria for what to let in through the gate of your heart? Is that something you can determine on your own without consulting a wiser party? When we truly know ourselves in light of who God made us to be, it gets much easier to discern what to say ‘yes’ to and what to say ‘no’ to. We’ve got to be centered. Defending Against Pressure. External & Internal

It’s been said that love means never saying ‘no.’ But never saying ‘no’ is like not having a good wall around your heart—anyone can come in and plunder your time and energy. Having good boundaries and saying ‘no’ when you mean it, as well as saying ‘yes’ when you mean it, is a good way to love. But it takes practice. I think I can, I think I can

It’s too easy to feel stuck, to develop a fixed mindset when it comes spiritual growth. And unfortunately, the people around us can reinforce that idea with negative and shame inducing talk. If you listen to them, you’ll start to talk to yourself that way and then you’ll never grow. Today we discuss ways to shift our thinking back to the way God designed us—able to grow and change. Stretch to Fit Goals

Pharisees are famous for making holiness too complicated. But we can all identify with that—the draw to so thoroughly define your spiritual / life system that you end up drowning in red tape. Jesus calls us to a much simpler life. His desire is to stretch you without burdening you. We discuss the importance off developing a simple, manageable, and doable spiritual life management system on today’s show. ENDING TODAY!!!! Who’s Making Things So Complicated?

We keep trying to make spiritual rules concrete, but loving people is not as easy to define as that. Different people and situations change the outworking of love. God’s greatest commandments are about love: Love God & love others. A lot of His rules are like that: simple to hear and then we make them complicated when we try to figure out how to obey. What’s the plan, man? If it’s too complicated, we won’t do it, but if it’s not robust enough, it’s worthless. Don’t Just Do Something, Stand There #Irony

Surrender means moving forward in God’s power, not sitting back doing nothing! Surrender is saying “yes” to God. Surrender is asking God “what can I say ‘yes’ to today? My schedule is not working, and I need Your guidance.” Surrender can be, sometimes, realizing that either good enough option is OK. We may not get a clear voice from heaven about which to choose. It can also be waiting instead of rushing ahead—only God can tell us whether we need to speed up or slow down. Our Free class to leave ...
