Episode description

Scott Eggenton, a 5th Degree Black Belt and founder of Southern Skies Aikido, joins me for a critical discussion on the state of Aikido around the world today.

In this episode, we explore how mainstream Aikido organizations have adopted teaching systems that hinder the development of the art's technical and martial aspects. We also discuss how this has led to misguided teaching practices that have contributed to Aikido’s degraded public perception as an ineffective martial art.

The intention of this episode is to shed light on these issues in order to help guide the evolution of Aikido in the direction it deserves. Thank you for listening.
