Days of Future Cast 56: Hulk Juice

Hi folks! Starting with this episode, we are covering the 1996 animated series The Incredible Hulk. It's got a pretty stellar voice cast (that do a pretty terrible job with one notable exception) and decent animation, but there's plenty of room to find the funny in that classic Days of Future Cast style. Enjoy!

[PREVIEW] Adaptation Decay 20: Pixels

Pixels just sucks. It suuuuucks. It sucks. Are you ready for some garbage!? Holy moly, this Adam Sandler movie about invading alien video game characters is just straight up gutter-leavin's. Its humor is outdated, the deliveries are halfhearted, and the visual effects are ugly and confusing. Thankfully, Peter Dinklage is in about 1/4 of the movie to brighten things up. Otherwise, this nostalgia bomb is a complete dud.

Watch Out for Fireballs! 215: The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine (Main Quest)

The world of the Witcher 3 is almost completely dark and grim, where moral ambiguity reigns supreme. So it's strange for Geralt's tale to end in Toussaint, which is picturesque and relatively calm... except for the murders. It's also a land of chivalric values that seem nice at first but are actually pretty backwards. This massive expansion sees Geralt working with an old friend to hunt down the Beast of Beauclaire, a vampire who is murdering nobles. However, things get wildly out of hand as pal...

Radio Free Mid-World 51: From a Buick 8

Jim Stormdancer (of Frog Fractions and Video Games Hot Dog fame) joins me to talk about another Tower-related novel, "From a Buick 8". A strange man abandons an even stranger car at a gas station in western Pennsylvania, and it ends up in the custody of a state police barracks nearby. The novel, through flashbacks, tells the story of how a rookie led the charge to investigate the otherworldly happenings spurred on by the car's presence, in what's probably King's most Lovecraftian book to date....

The Level 263: Just Like Pandas

Kole, Ben, and David talk about Red Dead Redemption, the Diablo: Immortal backlash, and we ask you about your favorite game dialogue. The Brief: Blizzard upsets fans with Diablo: Immortal, a mobile game. Ubisoft censors Rainbow Six: Siege for the Chinese market. The Multiplayer: What’s your favorite line of game dialogue? The Grind: Ben: Red Dead Redemption 2. Left 4 Dead 2. Kole: Call of Cthulhu. Resident Evil 7 (Not a Hero, and other DLCs). David: Fortnite....

[PREVIEW] Exquisite Suffering 56: Rex Ronan: Experimental Surgeon

We resisted talking about smoking for so long. It was a temptation, as Rex Ronan is an educational game that aims to teach kids how smoking will mess up your body. So we talk about the absurdities of experimental surgery, and do some GameFAQs stuff... but we fuck it up in the last ten minutes or so. Sorry.

Watch Out for Fireballs! 214: Playing Games Wrong

We originally intended for our live episode at Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2018 to be about Super Smash Bros. Melee. However, we figured something out... we don't like playing Smash Bros. competitively. This led us down a rabbit hole that ultimately made us change our plans... What does it mean to play games wrong. Is it even possible? Is that a real or fake idea? So we turned the episode into an editorial, talking about different ways to play games wrong, and giving a few examples of our favorit...

Radio Free Mid-World 50: Bag of Bones

Autumn Greer joins me to talk about Bag of Bones, a novel about a writer who loses his wife under mysterious circumstances... which starts him on a collision course against a conspiracy of old racists in a small Maine lake town.
