Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

[PREVIEW] Exquisite Suffering 89: Portal Runner

It's shocking that we've recorded nearly 500 of these things, and haven't yet talked about an Army Men game. Well, here we are. The first thing you need to understand is that there's a depressing amount of Army Men lore. The second thing you need to understand is that 3DO was a massive bully to publications. The third thing you need to understand is that this game was released on 9/11/2001.

[PREVIEW] Bonfireside Chat Musical Identity: Sekiro

This is it, the last of our modern FromSoft soundtrack analyses. Sekiro sounds very different from the other Souls soundtracks, for obvious reasons, but it still contains lots of touches that make it fit in with its brothers and sisters. Listen in to hear us talk about what works and what doesn't.

[PREVIEW] Adaptation Decay 36: Mazes and Monsters

D12s... Not even once. This very boring movie is a relic of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, when concerned parents everywhere got very scared of Dungeons and Dragons without actually learning about the game. Tom Hanks takes a leading role in a story about a college student who loses track of the distinction between fantasy and reality, and his impossibly rich and preppy friends try to lie to the police so they can save him themselves.

Watch Out for Fireballs! 269: Axiom Verge

Metroidvanias are pretty common, but games that aim to ape the original Metroid are few and far between. Axiom Verge is a 2015 indie game with a distinct glitchy NES aesthetic and some pretty great powerups. It also has some problems with its combat and main character. You can't take away the beauty of those sprite designs or that music, however. Support Watch Out for Fireballs!
