Good morning everybody . Happy Sunday . I'm coming at you with another weekly update . All things Double Edge Fitness . We're going to shoot for short and concise once again , all right . So first thing , I want to send a huge shout out to everybody involved in the swings for Life golf tournament this last weekend by last weekend I mean yesterday .
It was a huge success for our first ever partnership for a charity golf fundraiser New for us in all aspects and we learned a lot and with that we're very excited for next year .
But can't thank everybody enough who came out , the support for forever 14 , for a cause that is near and dear to both my brother and my heart , and uh , that cause being prevention of teen suicide One of the number one causes of death here in Washoe County is suicide for teenagers and bringing awareness , having conversation around this difficult topic .
To talk about the mental health conversation in society is still just , it's too taboo and not recognized for the importance that it is . And the more we can have conversation about it , the more we can talk about it , the more we can be open for help when needed .
It's a massive , massive deal for us to make sure that we are participating in helping spread the message that that , yes , there are alternatives , there is help available If you're fighting through and struggling with suicidal ideations , depression , anxiety .
Mental health , in my opinion , is arguably more important than physical health , because if you don't have your mental health aligned , your physical health doesn't even matter . So making sure we're having these discussions is so near and dear to my brother's heart .
It's a big deal for us and we really want to make sure you know that we're doing our part to contribute to the conversation , helping you know those out there struggling and hopefully being a beacon of light , that there is light and you're not making , you're not fighting these battles alone .
You know , just always be a helping hand for somebody , be a good person for somebody , to talk , to Be open with people around you and in your community . You know , and always check on the on , check on your friends , check on your loved ones .
You know , be that person because you never know what somebody is struggling with , what somebody is fighting with , and just know you know , be that person because you never know what somebody is struggling with , what somebody is fighting with . And just know you guys , we love you and if you're struggling and fighting , just always feel free to .
You know , lean onto us for resources and we'll do the best we can to make sure that we can help facilitate the proper help and find answers for those needing help .
When it comes to this topic and those people at Forever 14 , it's a tough day walking the golf course recognizing and remembering children who've taken their lives to this awful , awful sickness that can be prevented and there is help available for those struggling . So just want to thank everybody for coming . Out we raised a little over $5,000 .

And this week's let's Learn Some Stuff put out we released part one of Spine Health Series that I myself did with Dr Justin Grant , who happens to education , health and knowledge that is actionable for you and helps you out . So that is on our podcast , double Edge Fitness podcast . That is also on our Double Edge Fitness YouTube page .
I personally am experimenting , practicing and working on my own educational formats and trying to get better at this . I am trying to put out meaningful content . It's not perfect , it's not ready for the mainstream of double-edged fitness . So it's on my personal page , on my personal YouTube deal . But again , I think there's nuggets there that can help out .
I dive into my perception of health span and what I'm doing to live a long and healthy life . Approaching 40 . I do plan on remaking these videos that I'm putting over there for the double edge page . That are going to be a lot more better . That sounded good , a lot more better . Something I am looking for from our members is anybody out there who would be willing to participate in some video testimonials about your experience at Double Edge Fitness . It's hard to get on camera .
This has taken me a lot of practice to get to where I can just kind of get on here , and I'm still working on it , still not comfortable with it , but I get it . I get it . But if there's anybody out there in the community that would be open to participating in some professionally developed member testimonial video content . Let me know , please let me know .
Let your coach know . I think you all not get in touch with me , but it'd be a great value and we can figure out some kind of win-win there for helping us out make that content , because I can see our members having a great time , but it's a lot better when it's coming from y'all . So , yeah , anything there , let me know and we can set that up .
Coming up , november 16th , saturday , we're going to be doing Metcon for Hope . We are partnering with Forever 14 . They are our foundation , the foundation that we are choosing to support in our fundraising efforts , and we will be releasing information and everything on that soon .
A couple minor changes this year which I think everybody's going to like , but yeah , metcon for Hope , November 16th Mark the calendar . If you want to have fun , throw down on a one-day event to raise awareness , raise some money , have a good time for a , again , wonderful cause , just like we did the swings for life golf tournament .
