Sometimes because of the attachment that we have to people it prevents us from seeing their role in our life clearly. We start making excuses for peoples behavior instead of taking actions for face value. Its because subconsciously we think about how much time that we've invested them, or physical monetary resources and it creates an illusion of losing something valuable. This is rooted in our attachment to them and perceived value of them in our lives.
