Now , in the comments , very quickly , let know what are you believing God for ? I want you to put it in the comments because I want my team to be able to pray for you and stand with you as you believe .

God for something , but this is so important . Why do you think that this is important ?

Speaker 2

I think it's important because first of all , I didn't know that you could believe God for stuff . You know , like I was born again for maybe two years when I first got saved and I didn't know , you were born again for two years when you first got saved . Well , what I meant was yeah , it didn't make sense .

Speaker 1

So you got born again . For two years you didn't know , and then for two years .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I didn't know . I just was so grateful that Jesus , you know , loved me and that I was a believer and I was starting to read the Bible and things . But I didn't have a lot of understanding . I didn't know that you could believe God for things . I didn't know what faith meant .

Speaker 1

So let's get this straight . What that means is that there are certain promises in the Bible that God says I will do this , I will watch over my word to perform it . This is what I want to do for you , and I think that there's a lot of people who don't know the promises Number one they don't know how to access the promises Number two .

They do not know how to war with the promises Number three . And we're here to help them today , because I don't want to .

I don't know about you , I don't want to get to heaven and be like oh my God , this is all of the things that God wanted to bring into my life , these are all the things he promised for my life , but I didn't have the access code .

It's like you having a billion dollars in the bank , but you , just you have the number , but you don't you like missing a number , you don't you misplaced ?

Speaker 2

the account number . It's in the house . It's like we are his children , right , and he leaves . He's given us an inheritance . So , just like you know , our natural parents will leave us an inheritance . Those are things that they give us houses , they give us money , they give us their animals . I mean like all kinds of things .

They give us their name , they give us their businesses . You know , there's all kinds of things that we inherit from our parents . We have the same rights and privileges from our heavenly father .

Speaker 1

Oh , today's going to be good , praise God . And I want to help people , especially people who grew up in a church where you almost think like well , you know , I'm good , everything's good , I'm all right , you know . Like you said , I'm saved , and that's good .

We want you to be saved , but I do feel like there's a posture and a position where you don't want to just be saved . You want to be saved , walking in the promises of God , so that you can share the fruit of the land , the good of the land the benefits of being a Christian and all of those things with other people .

Speaker 2

You want to live the abundant life . Jesus said I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly . Whatever that means to you , that to me means the good life . That means no lacking . That means that I am going to be victorious .

Speaker 1

I mean , there's so many promises . He says no weapon formed against you shall prosper . If you delight yourself in him , you'll eat the good of the land . He'll give you the desires of your heart . If you knock , it shall be open .

I mean scripture after scripture about long life , scripture after scripture about healing how it belongs to us , scripture after scripture about you know . He'll give you the heathen as inheritance , promise after promise . So I've been saved for a while , been in ministry for a couple decades , and I've learned that the Bible is not just a history book .

The Bible , most of all the Bible , points us towards Jesus . Old Testament , new Testament , points us towards Jesus . But it's not just that , it's also a love letter . And it's not just a historical book or something that points us towards Jesus or a love letter .

The Bible is also a book of promise , and the Bible says that all of the promises of God are yes and amen . And so today it's almost like shifting us to understand that we're children of the King , that we are heirs of God in joint heirs with Christ Jesus .

An heir , by definition , has a right to an inheritance , and I believe that there are a lot of people who have an inheritance , that they don't even know what they have , and if you are part of the family of God , you need to know what your inheritance has to be and you need to know the combination code so you can unlock what's in heaven , so that you can

experience heaven on the earth , I think .

Speaker 2

So it's moving from the perspective that God is this ruler who sits on the throne and looks down on us and commands us to do this and do that and judges us if we don't . I mean that's the wrong perspective of God . But God is love , so he's not some ruler up there , he is our father . It's different when you look at him as your father .

Then it's like , oh my gosh , you're my father and I am your child . There's a loving relationship .

Speaker 1

And that's where people you know sometimes we overcorrect . He's both he's ruler , he's sovereign , absolutely , but I think the biggest thing he's Abba , father , absolutely . You're not going to connect with God in the right tone .

Speaker 2

So to say if you ?

Speaker 1

don't look at him as he's my dad , he's my father , you know what I'm saying , well , you have that too .

Speaker 2

I mean there's . There's like you know , we have children and I mean I'm a mom and my kids they're . You know we'll play around and we joke around and stuff like that .

But they know when they've crossed the line like , oh , we ain't gonna do that , and even as a mom , like the kids will say certain things to me and they'll be doing you know whatever , like if we're in the kitchen , that's where we usually are but then dad walks in the room .

You come in and they like it's another level , everything changes and I'm like what in the world ? I mean , why are you acting crazy around me ?

Speaker 1

Anyway , I'm just saying All right when it comes to believing God for something . Why do you think people struggle in that area ?

Speaker 2

I think because there's the unanswered question of well , or the unresolved well . This happened , I believe , for this . Well , why do people ?

Speaker 1

die . Okay , okay , okay , stop there . Stop there , because you're getting ahead of me . All right , so I'll give you some that I've wrote . Okay , that was a segue question . This is what I wrote down , because they have the wrong idea of God first they feel like God is sovereign . That means he's going to do whatever he wants , whenever he wants to do .

That means that why do I need to believe God for something ? Because I need to just be content with what I have . He's God . Let him do whatever he wants to do . Now , when you look at the Bible , though , we see this exchange between God and man .

There were times where who was it in the Bible where it was like he was about to , like God was about to wipe out a whole group of people ?

Speaker 2

and then he prayed Abraham when he interceded .

Speaker 1

Yeah , someone interceded . I don't think it was Abraham . Was it . I think it was Moses or somebody , I don't think it was Moses Anyway it's in the Bible , y'all look it up . He interceded and it was almost like this question will the God of all the earth do wrong , like if you destroyed these people ? I think it was Moses , he was all , what would ?

The other people say he almost acted as an intercessor and God changed his mind . What I'm saying is and that was probably a deep example to go to- but , what we see is that the will of God is brought to pass by the prayers of the saints , meaning that what we do on earth , when we partner with heaven , gets heavenly results .

Speaker 2

That's good .

Speaker 1

So if we don't do our part , then heaven doesn't move . Okay , so there is this partnership . So the person that says that God is sovereign and he can do whatever he wants to do , you're right , he's sovereign . But that truth is not complete , because this is what I would write down the will of God is not automatic and that's what people think .

Well , if I got cancer , it must be his will . No , that is not his will . We see , his will is to heal . He got on a cross so that we could be healed .

We've been healed by the stripes of Jesus , but for that healing to manifest itself , it's going to take warfare , it's going to take prayer , it might take pursuit , it's going to take some things that we have to do on our side of the equation , because the will of God is not automatic , it's brought to pass by the prayers of his people .

Speaker 2

If the will of God was automatic , there would be no need for the Bible , there would be no need for prayer , there'd be no need for faith . It's because everything . Why would we do anything ? Because God's will is going to happen anyway . But yeah , we've been given dominion .

Speaker 1

So the first revelation that we have to receive when it comes to believing God for something is that I like that we've been given dominion , but also we are in partnership with God .

Speaker 2

Co-laborers , together with Christ .

Speaker 1

And so we're in partnership with heaven . That's important . Now here's some scriptural references . We're in partnership with heaven . That's important , okay . Now here's some scriptural references , because basically there's just different perspectives on how you live life . Some people just believe that God's going to do whatever he wants to do .

Yeah , okay , but then that's the wrong . The right perspective , the biblical perspective , is what we call a warfare worldview or a warfare biblical view , meaning that God's good . The devil is bad . God Jesus came that we might have life more abundantly . Satan comes to steal , kill and destroy , and in between what manifests in our life , we have a part to play .

What we call that is spiritual warfare . This is very important for people to understand , and the scripture makes reference of these things like fight , the good fight of faith . 1 Timothy 6 , 12 . It says that we're more than conquerors . A conqueror is one who consistently and continuously wins in battle .

That means that if you're going to believe God for something , you can't just sit back and hope that it comes one day , because you're waiting on the Lord , but the Lord is waiting on you to use your authority Well .

Speaker 2

the Bible also says in the Old Testament I believe that God says I lay before you life and death , blessings and cursings . And then he says choose life so that you and your family may live . So you have a choice . You have a choice . Life , death , blessings , cursing or the curse .

Speaker 1

1 John 5 and 4 says whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world , and this is the victory that overcomes the world , our faith . So we're actually called to be world overcomers . That doesn't happen by us just being passive . There are things in your life . Addictions must be overcome . There are some sicknesses that must be overcome .

There are some bad marriages that must be overcome . There are some negative thoughts . How'd you overcome depression ? You've been 20 years set free from depression but , there was a part that you had to play to speak to the spirit of depression and command it to get out of your life for you to see that spirit .

Leave your life to where you've been healed now for 20 years . We have a role in righteousness . We have a part that we have to play .

Speaker 2

Absolutely .

Speaker 1

The Bible says that the thief comes to steal , kill and destroy . We see this warfare edge with it . All right , and so here's what I believe , why it's hard for people . Number one they have the wrong idea of God .

Speaker 3

But number two they think that the promises of God are just suggestions .

Speaker 1

They think that the promises of God are just suggestions . They don't understand that they are promises from a promise-keeping God . Are you with me ? Yeah , so what I mean by that is Jeremiah 1 , 12 . It says um , I'm watching over my word to fulfill it . God says Isaiah 55 and 11 . It says so shall my word be that goeth out of my mouth .

It shall not return to me void , but it will accomplish that which I please and prosper where I send it . Matthew 24 and 35 , it says heaven and earth will pass away before one jot or tittle of the word shall fail . Second Corinthians , 120 , it says for all of the promises of God are yes and all of the promises in him are amen . Amen means so , be it .

So when you put those scriptures together , what you realize is that God is waiting on us to use our authority to stand on his word and to stand on his promises . And I would even take it a step further God is not scared of us reminding him of what he said .

Matter of fact , there is a reference to that in the Bible where there's almost like this thought that part of faith is like God you said . You said that I was healed by the stripes of Jesus and I believe it because I know your character , I know you're not a man that shall lie or the son of man that needs to repent .

I know that if you've spoken it , I can take it to the bank . God , I'm reminding you of your word . You said when I give , it shall be given back to me . Good measure , pressed down , shaken together and running over , and I don't care what it looks like or what it feels like right now . God , I stand on the promises because I know who you are .

To me , that's a different level of fervency than God . I hope I don't even know if you're really listening to me . I don't even know if you even care , you know what . I'm saying and I believe God's inviting us in , to be able to stand on the promise . Anything comes out .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I mean , you know , we call God the promise keeper and I think that it's different .

It's not a man's promises , because we've all been let down by someone says you know , even as a parent , you know , my kids will come to me and they'll say but mommy , you said , and I'm like baby , I'm sorry , I can't do it right now , we have to do it another day .

You know , and I'm like baby , I'm sorry , I can't do it right now , we have to do it another day . So we all know what it's like probably too well to not receive the promise , and we've been a part of broken promises . But God is the promise keeper . So the only conditional thing in a promise from God is your part .

You can say no , I don't want it , and not receive it . Or you can be ignorant of oh , I don't want it , you know , and not receive it . Or you can be ignorant of oh , I don't know that these promises are available . So therefore , I'm not asking for it . But when you ask , you shall receive .

Speaker 1

You're touching on a topic now , and that's exactly where I'm going . So , let me kind of back up a little bit . So my question originally is why do people struggle ? With believing God for something . Answer number one was that they have the wrong idea of God . Answer number two is that they think that the promises of God are merely suggestions .

But number three is and let's just spend some time here is that they have a hard time processing faith failures . The times that they believed God for something and it did not go their way , that's big . The time that they prayed , but somebody still died . The time that they sowed , but they didn't . They received bankruptcy , foreclosure , finance , something .

The times that they said , god , I'm going to stand with you , but they felt let down .

Speaker 2

Yeah , have you ever had anything in your life where you were believing God for something and it didn't happen ?

Speaker 1

Yes , Can you tell me about that a little bit ? Um , let's see , there have been several times . It seems like you're kind of going through your mind . I am going I don't , I don't know . Well , let it all out .

Speaker 2

Um uh , I don't know , I speak the . The first time , uh , like major thing , uh , that I had happened was when I had my first childbirth , my first pregnancy . I had a plan , um , my , my birthing plan . I had it written down . This is how it's going to go .

Um , you know some I'm reminded , like you know , I know a lot of single ladies and they have , you know , their , their spouse , written down . I want them to look like this . I want it to be like they got the list . I had this list on my pregnancy and , um , like an old school faith old school faith board . This is what .

I'm believing , for I prayed over my baby before she was born , prophesied over her life , and so now we get pregnant , I have this baby . The pregnancy was great , but then everything to . You know , my pregnancy just didn't go the way I planned . So I didn't want to be induced , I had to be induced .

I didn't want to have an episiotomy , I had to have an episiotomy . I read this book , supernatural Childbirth , which was an amazing book . It taught me principles of God , but I was believing like no pain in my pregnancy , and I know people who did not have pain .

Speaker 1

And so I wanted the same thing . All have pain , and that's the crazy thing . So I wanted the same thing , all right . So other people read this book and they just popped out them babies .

Speaker 2

No pain .

Speaker 1

They stood on the word of God no epidural nothing . So in your mind you're thinking if God did it for them . He's going to do it for me . You know you can put all kinds of scriptures with stuff . God's no respecter of person . I have what . I set my faith high . You know I'm like why not ?

Speaker 2

You know this is , this is what I'm going to do , and none of that happened , right , none of it . And and not the opposite . Um happened , but it was . I got beat up and it 24 , seven 11 , exactly 7 , 11 PM to 7 , 11 PM , the next day , hours of labor , 24 hours .

Speaker 1

I knew things was bad when you start puking green stuff .

Speaker 2

I was like this didn't go hey I started shaking uncontrolled all over my body . Then I started throwing up and then I had to go to the bathroom . I was on the toilet shaking and throwing up . I was like it's done , yeah , give me , give me , what is it called ? The epidural . Give me epidural now . And then all the pain went away .

Yes , then the pain went away .

Speaker 1

So anyway , so the next two pregnancies . We got smart enough to believe like , hey , we're going to believe for it to be pain free , but God's put an epidural in the earth .

Speaker 2

We'll take one of them right now . Yes .

Speaker 1

But anyway , it's to each his own .

Speaker 2

So that was my first time , yeah .

Speaker 1

So you had faith , high expectations , high scriptures . You were standing on , yes , but it seemed like you got the opposite .

Speaker 2

Right , I felt let down . I felt let down by God and , more than anything , I felt like I did something wrong , like I didn't believe right . Maybe I had fear in me , my faith was contaminated , I doubted too much , so I just felt like I internalized that . Like what did you ?

Speaker 1

there was such strong preaching on faith , and it was so needed because , for before the movement of faith people didn't take God at his word . We understood stories but we didn't take God at his word . So in certain seasons God will release certain anointings or concentrations or focuses for a time , to kind of shift the body back to his original intent and man .

We were so built up on faith and understanding that life and death is in the power of the tongue .

Speaker 2

I wouldn't change it .

Speaker 1

It was good . However , if you only focus on that and you don't tell people about the evil day , and you don't tell people about trials and tribulations , if you don't really equip people with seasons of suffering , what happens is when they get hit by life .

It's like you get the wind knocked out of you and you're like is this Bible even real , or is God even true ? And then we overcorrect and then we go way to the other side and now we're so doctrinal heavy , we study , we have so much understanding of scripture , but we don't have any power . We don't know how to raise the dead any longer .

We don't know how to pray for the sick any longer . We say and we conclude that I've tried that before and it didn't work for me and we've stopped short and that's never the answer . This right here , without telling people about the trials and tribulations of life , is not the answer .

And God knows , being over here without faith , the power of your words and a believing heart understanding same . God back then , same God right now . Can you just talk to me a little bit , Because this is going to help somebody . How did you get out of that ?

Because that almost seems like a dark hole Now it seems like when I asked you the question , you had a few faith failures that you were thinking through , but you landed on the baby one because this was your first one , this was my first one and that one smacked you .

Speaker 2

Yes , it got me . Why I think a little bit you touched on it a little bit is that I didn't know that it was normal . But storms come , but don't take heart because Jesus has overcome the world . Stuff happens . I didn't know that the weapon may be formed but it shall not prosper .

So the weapon was formed in different things that happened during pregnancy oh , we can't find the baby's heartbeat , oh , we have to cut you . Here it's like , okay , the weapon was formed but it did not prosper .

So that again was a point of victory that I had to tell myself after the pregnancy and after I felt so bad I had to just look into the scripture and find , okay , the weapon was formed , but the good news is it did not prosper because no weapon formed against me shall prosper right Healthy mama , healthy baby . Healthy baby , healthy mom .

I had to understand that and this is what I learned later on , after that personal struggle , that personal struggle . Now I know that , even overcoming cancer , I know that sometimes it's the enemy .

You're doing everything right , you know what I mean , but because of the anointing on your life , because of the opposition that you face , it's just an attack of the enemy .

And so now I know that I have an enemy and if something comes up , okay , no , I rebuke you in the name of Jesus and I stand on the promises of God until this test is over , until this storm is over .

Speaker 1

We knew that we had an enemy , but like if you , the tone of the preaching is just all one sided and you're just believing God and it's faith , faith , faith , faith , faith .

Speaker 2

You know that you have an enemy but you're not prepared for the sucker punch when the wind gets knocked out of you . Yeah Well , because the emphasis is like God is with us , so we win and the enemy is no match for us . So , devil , you can try whatever , but we win . And that's true .

But there's still warfare , and the things that he tries and the thoughts that he throws at you and the tests that come up , it's going to be warfare . It doesn't always feel good .

Speaker 1

So I mean I got so many things running through my head and I forgot one major thing I wanted to say I'm hoping that the Holy Spirit will bring it back , but so it's not wrong . It just needs to be complete , because we need to be strong in faith . Absolutely , we need to take God at his word .

We need to prophesy over dead dry bones and say live again .

Speaker 2

I would rather err on the side of faith , because without faith , it's impossible to please God , like I would rather believe . You know , like to the , I'm going to believe no matter what . Now , if I'm believing for up here but I come in down here , okay , I'm going to celebrate down here and I'll keep striving for better .

But there's no condemnation to those who are in Christ . I'm not going to feel bad about I got some things .

Speaker 1

Let me just blurt out some stuff , because I just feel like there are people who are like it's almost like they have given up their faith because of their experience or they have allowed themselves and they still died , or they're battling a health problem right now , or they got cancer .

I think your perspective , when you said that it was an attack of the enemy oh , that's what I was going to say so if you go too much on this side it felt like the tone back in the day was almost like well , if you get sick or something bad happens , you ain't have enough faith , and what that does is that it brings a level of condemnation that I didn't

pray enough , that I didn't give enough , that I didn't serve enough , that I didn't do something .

Speaker 2

It's the enemy .

Speaker 1

I'm not enough and it moves you over into works Like I got to do something else to earn the blessing of God . That's unhealthy . That's unhealthy , and because you are Enneagram one which is more like a perfectionist you took the position . You wasn't even angry at God , you were angry at yourself .

Speaker 2

Yeah , god's perfect . He didn't do anything wrong .

Speaker 1

There are some people who are just angry at themselves . They just feel like I don't pray enough , I don't fast enough , I don't do this enough . I'm not holy enough and you got to stop that , because you are born again , child of God most high . You are already blessed , you are already victorious , you are already those things .

There is a partnership side with heaven , but it's not from the place of condemnation , it's from the place of conviction . It's not from the place where you got to feel bad because you missed it here . Listen , his grace is so sufficient . There is no way that we're going to hit this thing in the target 100% , 100 out of 100 , 10 out of 10 .

There's no way His grace is covering us all , and so I just feel like you know , if you're that person , that's not it . That's not the right tone . That's not the right tone because I lived with you . And when you went through your cancer battle , you were . You were like , probably a vegetarian or a vegan working out consistently .

Um had forgiven so many different people , um living right , eating right , doing all these things . What was that ? It was just an attack of the devil to take out your life .

But you know , what happens with attacks of the devil is if you don't allow him to just wreck habit you come out with a greater anointing I feel like the anointing on your life to see people delivered from the demonic is stronger .

You're anointing to see people healed , or stronger and I'm not saying this because you got to be careful as well , because some people hear well , does that mean that I got to go through hell to get more anointed ? No , it does not it does not necessarily mean that , but if you're going to go through hell , be more anointed .

Speaker 2

Right , you know what I mean .

Speaker 1

If you're going to go through all that you like , there are too many people that they don't know how to process their pain , and so what they're doing is that they're throwing away the Bible , throwing away their faith , and saying , well , if God wanted to happen , it's going to happen .

And I'm like , no , that's not how you believe God for something you have to remind him of his word , stand on his word and be like David . Remember that time that David messed up with Bathsheba and the son was about to die ? What did David do ?

The Bible says that he prayed and fasted and prayed and fasted and prayed and fasted , just in case God might give him grace and let the child live . And what happened when the child died ? What did David do ? The Bible says that he washed himself and he went back to worship .

He didn't go into a dark depression and walk away from his faith because he had a faith failure . He said , okay , that happened , I got to go back to worship , I got to go , put God first again . And then , what God do ? He restored him with Solomon .

Speaker 2

And .

Speaker 1

Solomon becomes a king himself . I think it's in that biblical order . So when we've been through hard times and financially and ministry I felt betrayed . I've said God , where are you ? The principle that I've learned is to put my palms up and say God , no matter what I go through , I still trust you and I will never turn back on you or your word .

All I can do is stand flat footed and declare the word of God and prophesy over my family and stand in faith without doubting . All I can do is believe God and take God at his word . It's up to him to do the rest . But if things don't go the way that I want , I can say God , I don't get it and it hurts , but God , I still trust you .

And sometimes the highest form of faith is not our declaration , it's our surrender . Just saying God , I still trust you , without changing the goodness of God , Because the goodness of God is the foundation of our theology . If you start thinking that I don't know if God is real and I don't know if God is good , satan got you .

He got , you , you got you know , if you start questioning the goodness of God , no , because I went through hell , because I went through bad things , it does not change that he's good . I'm in a fallen , broken world and I don't get it . Here's the high . I don't , I don't understand it , but , God , I still love you and trust you , you're still good .

Speaker 2

I think one of the reasons why depression is so prevalent nowadays is that people don't believe in the faith message . They don't believe that God will provide for you , god will heal you , god will make a way out . Of no way He'll turn it around and make it work for your favor .

Like we don't believe that , and when you don't believe that , like we don't believe that , and when you don't believe that , you don't have hope , and when there's no hope , it's just done . What do you do without hope ? Right , and so I think that the faith message , it gives you hope , that .

No , I know that it's crazy in my life right now , but I know God is working all things together for my good , because I love him and have been called according to his promises , and so yeah . Gotta believe , gotta have hope . Yeah .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , so good . I want to give five steps of how to believe God for something . All right , and stop me if you want to jump in . Number one is you got to find a promise from God in the Bible . You got to find the promise in the Bible .

Speaker 2

Whatever it is you need .

Speaker 1

Whatever it is , you need .

Speaker 2

Something's going on in your life .

Speaker 1

So when our marriage was bad , we went to the Bible and we found out what did God say about marriage ? Right , I'm going to stand on that . Right . When our finances were bad , we went .

So when I was in business , I took years and studied , from Genesis to Revelation , everything God says about money , and what I found out is he says more about finances than he does heaven , hell and salvation combined , and as a businessman who had $100,000 of debt and financial pressures , I needed to understand the promise of God concerning my finances .

Speaker 2

Yeah , but I want to go a little bit more detailed into that . So let's back up to the marriage very quick . So when our marriage was crazy , we went to the word and said what does the word say about our marriage ? And so what ? I found out ?

What the word said about my marriage and me as a wife , and so now my prayers to God was and my faith declarations over my life was Lord , I thank you that my marriage is blessed . I thank you that I love my husband and I serve my husband and have a heart toward him . I thank you that he loves me like Christ loved the church .

I thank you , lord , that my husband is satisfied with my breast all the days of his life . I thank you , lord , is satisfied with my breast all the days of his life . I thank you , lord , that he is always infatuated with my love all the days of his life . We take the word , and now we declare the word , and we pray the word .

Speaker 1

I just saw a vision of people that love Jesus but they don't know how to engage heaven . They love Jesus , but they don't know how to get heaven to invade them . And we're going to help somebody . So , even when we had unsafe family members , we've had people that are not saved , different faiths .

We will go to God and say God , the Bible says that you give us the heathen as an inheritance . Yes . You say that the heart of the king is in your hand and , like streams of water , you'll turn it whichever way you want it to go . We pray for brother . So-and-so in our family . We thank you that you give them to us as an inheritance .

We declare that our family shall be saved . That is a different temperature than going to God and saying well , god , I really don't know what your word says . So to me , the Bible is a book of promises . You have to know what the word says and you go back to God with faith in his word , not with this anger in your heart . God you said no .

But God you said I know who you are and I know you're a God of love . I know you're a faithful God . You know what I'm saying . So I stand in faith , believing I receive . Then I go into thanksgiving , and that comes in number two . How do you believe God for something ? Well , this is number two .

You got to ask God for his promises to come to pass in your life . So , you first got to go to the word , then you got to ask , because the Bible says you have not , because you ask , because you ask not . And there are people say well , I don't know if I need to ask for that .

I mean , god's so busy , god's so busy up there , I don't know if I should be asking for a job for little . What does your child ask for you ? Everything .

Speaker 2

Everything . You are their source , you are their provider . They come to you for food , for shelter , for money , for toys , for anything , if they're bored , for a hug , for a kiss , when they have a boo-boo , they come to you . That's how you go to the Father .

Speaker 1

We do not have to be reserved in what ?

Speaker 2

we ask God for .

Speaker 1

And it's not like we have to ask God for just spiritual things . I want to ask God for helping traffic . I want to ask God for helping me pick out the right watermelon , so I don't get home in Lord .

Speaker 2

My attitude is bad right now . Lord , help me have a good attitude .

Speaker 1

I'm asking God for all kinds of stuff , people to be saved . When I do my prayer walks in the morning , I just do like this and I said , Lord , let everybody in my neighborhood come to Jesus . I thank you that they wake up with dreams from you , right now . I thank you that Muslims are seeing Jesus . Atheists are seeing . Jesus right now .

I thank you that every person in my neighborhood shall be saved in Jesus name . I have not , because I asked not , we got to get to ask Number three . How about this ? How ? To believe God for something you have to offer continual thanksgiving and also praise for the manifestation of the promise .

We get this out of Mark 11 , I believe , and it says that when you pray , believe you receive and you shall have it . It says when you pray present tense believe you receive present tense and you shall have it future tense .

So it means that when I go to God and I ask him for something , soon as I ask it , I have to believe I receive it and I will have it , meaning that I don't have it now but I'm going to have it . So if I believe I receive it , what do I do ? I give them thanksgiving for it , and I think that there's a lot of people now .

I do believe that there's a scripture that talks about asking , and if you look at some translations , it says keep on knocking , keep on asking , but when I do that , I'll ask , and then my next time I'm going to ask with thanksgiving . So Philippians 4 , I think it says let your request be made known unto God with thanksgiving and the peace of God .

That surpasses something like that . So what it's saying is that I'm going to let my request or my ask now be completely saturated with thanksgiving , meaning that God always already knows what we need before we ask him . So I'm going to ask like God I just thank you so much for us being healed of cancer .

Then , after that , I believe I receive it , and now thank you , Lord , that she's healed from cancer . Thank you , Lord . Now my request is being saturated with thanksgiving because I believe I receive it . Is that too deep ?

Speaker 2

Well , I mean it's good because you have all kinds of listeners right now , and people on different levels , you know . So that is the deeper end , but the shallow end is just like just ask , like God isn't like like , oh well , you already asked me for that , so now I'm not going to give it to you . That's not it .

Like it's in your heart , because sometimes I've asked God for something already and it's like now I'm going back to God Like , okay , this didn't happen yet . Lord is there . You know what ? Do you talk to me about this ? Should I do something ? Am I doing the wrong things ?

But okay , lord , nevertheless , I'm going to believe for you and I believe that his son . It's a conversation .

Speaker 1

This is like times .

Speaker 3

It'll get on my last nerve , but I don't think god is in heaven like you know , yeah , and after a while you're like okay just take it , just get out of here .

Speaker 1

Oh my god so I'm glad you said that yeah , and that's why I love the podcast ? because the podcast we can give um just a tad more balance you know , and that's why you got to be really patient with your preacher , because preaching on um , you got 30 minutes on the clock . 32 minutes , it's not .

You're basically trying to take 25 years of your life and every revelation that God's given you and trying to give people something , and so sometimes you can come off with a tone that if you talk to me privately , I'd be like oh , I didn't mean it like that . You took it like that , but here's the balance to it . Here's the other side of it .

Speaker 2

Well , there's Liberty . You know like this , you know we have to , but this is what I wanted to say about asking and receiving , and that you know . So , when I was fighting cancer , it was hard , and so what I would do is I would practice what you just talked about .

What that looked like was I didn't have hair , I didn't have eyebrows , eyelashes , I was thin and , like you know , just weak because of the chemotherapy and things like that . But I would go into the bathroom alone and I would thank God that I was healed .

And it hurt to move , but I moved anyway because I said okay , Lord , I thank you that I'm healed , and I did whatever I could do to act out my faith . So I believe that I receive it .

So if I were completely healed right now , like I'm going to be , you know , like I would be dancing right now , and so I would just dance in the bathroom by myself If I could jump up and down . Believing that I had to do this is personal . This isn't like some law .

Speaker 1

This is not a formula .

Speaker 2

This is me with my father and like okay , Lord , I believe that I'm healed and so I'm praising you now , because I know that you're going to do it . I know that I will see the manifestation of your promises . So right now I'm going to praise you in advance .

Speaker 1

I remember when we got our first building for our church this was many years ago , this is like 16 , 17 years ago there was this building that was 10,000 square foot , that sat on a very public road , and I would go to the owner and I say , hey , I would love to lease this building . He would .

And he told me one day he was like no , this is park place . He's like I don't , I don't really want a church here . This I want like Wells Fargo . This was his exact words . And I would come back day , week after week after week , and say , hey , I really like to rent your place . I probably heard him tell me no , like 20 times .

Yeah , right , but I would do a thing where I would , I believe God for this building because it was vacant building .

So we just holding on to it and I would pull up to the building , pull around to the back , get out of my car as if I was going to church , walk all the way up to the door that I was going to come into and I would grab the door and it was locked and I would say , in Jesus name , it's going to come open one day . Thank you .

Lord for this building . I believe I receive it . I would literally drive my car as I would pass the building day after day , get out of the car and do the same thing by faith . I believe I receive , I believe I receive . And that was the first building that we got .

God changed his heart and actually ended up leasing it , then ended up buying it , and that was the one building , of many buildings , that we've purchased since . But I can go through all kinds of things in my life where we've asked God and then acted on what we believe believe that we've received it , and then heaven .

God has responded to that because he's moved by faith . There's a scripture that says when the son of man returns , will he find faith ? I don't know about you , but I want him to find it Wow .

You know and here's number four you got to have faith for the outcome , how to believe God for something you got to have faith for the outcome and I think , next week let's just , let's do a podcast about faith . Let's do it .

I just feel like there's a faith drought and I feel like there's people here that need to build up and receive the spirit of faith I love .

Speaker 2

Can we do that ? I love the topic of faith . Y'all tune in , come on .

Speaker 1

I'm telling you next Thursday , tune in tune in tune in tune in tune in . We're going to define what faith is , how faith goes , how it grows , how it comes , what hinders your faith . We're going to help you out . Next , make sure that you're with us . But I would define faith in many different ways , but I always teach the three components of faith .

You need believing , speaking , acting , believing okay , where I'm believing , because all things are possible to them that what Believe , what you hear , affects what you believe . So if you hear this podcast and then hear other people that are ungodly , what's going to happen ? You're going to have mixed faith , okay .

What you need is atmospheres where you're hearing the right things consistently affects what you believe . Speaking All right , um , what's in the heart comes out of the mouth . There is a principle in the scripture that what's in your heart and in your mouth is coming into your life . Salvation is the gift by grace , through faith . How do you release faith ?

Believe in your heart , confess with your mouth . There is this um . Confession is not just confessing your sins . It comes from a Greek word homologio , homo being same logo , logio being logos , the word of God . It's where you say what God says , and so confessing is not just confessing sin .

It's where you say what God says and when you say what God says , you'll see what God says in your life . And so you have believing , you have speaking , you also have acting Acting . Is you acting on what you believe ? What you said about I'm sick but I'm dancing as if I'm healed ?

I'm acting on my faith , and many times they will say go show yourself to the priest and you'll be healed . Go dip and wash yourself in the Jordan and then you'll be healed , meaning that there is a wending . That happens that as you act on this , things are coming your way , and so we'll get to that later . But how to believe God for something ?

Number five is that you don't allow delay to deter . You cannot allow delay to deter , and so there's been times in our life where it just feels like is this ever going to happen ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , so you mean like you can't allow the delay to stop you or make you quit ?

Speaker 1

don't get out of faith . Oh , I'm reminded of hebrews 11 . Hebrews 11 is what we call the hall of faith and it goes through this whole thing about man people receive their dead back to life , and people you know . You know so many things was done , kingdoms was wrought because they walked by faith , enoch , all this stuff by faith .

But then it goes towards the end and it says and there were some who received the promise , there were some who died in faith , not receiving what was promised . And it's almost like we'd like to omit that , but the truth is , I believe it's there by the wit of the Lord , meaning that at the end of my life I'm dying in faith .

You know , I can't tell you when the promise is going to happen and how it's going to happen . I believe it's going to happen in his timing and when I want it to happen , but if it don't happen , I'm dying in faith . Amen . And there were some people who went to the end of their life and they didn't see what they had been believing for .

But at some , people who went to the end of their life and they didn't see what they had been believing for , but at least they died in faith . I believe there's too many people dying in doubt , dying in unbelief , dying with skepticism , dying in deconstruction , dying with questioning . God , but for me and my house .

Speaker 2

We're going to die in faith . That's a crazy perspective . The other side of dying in faith is that you just die in doubt . You just die because you're gonna die anyway . Yeah , how you ? How do you want to die ? Yeah , like I'd rather die .

Speaker 1

I'll say this , and this is personal and I'm not gonna cry on this podcast so my mom has been dealing with stage four cancer , four years chemotherapy , and that many years of chemotherapy is not really healthy , it's hard . And so there's this procedure that she texted us the other day about and she was like , hey , this is really risky .

They had one person they tried to do it on and they didn't make it . But I really feel led that I want them to try it on me and I was really concerned about it . I'm like , listen , I'm I think we should just cut out all of it . Believe god , and I like , but what's in your heart ?

And she says that , well , I want to go and have the procedure , I want to see what happens . And so we got off the phone and was like , hey , you got to do what you have faith to do . Me and my sister , we were all all of her children was on the phone . We got off the phone .

She sends me a text later and she says says you know , um , if this procedure works , I win because I'll be healed , but if it doesn't work , I win because I'll be with jesus . Now that's , that's different level of faith that's the life , but how ? good is that , though ? If I , if I , if I get healed , I win , but if I die , I win .

What is that she , though ? If I , if I , if I get healed , I win , but if I die , I win , what is that ? She would die in faith I'm not saying that our faith is that she'll be healed . Our faith . That's all I can do . All I can do is stand on what the Bible says until death does me part .

All I can do is say this is the BIBA , it's the book for me . That's it . It settles it . He said it , it settles it . I don't have this doubting question Am I going to become a Hare Krishna one day or become an agnostic another day ? Forget all of that . None of that stuff . It's Jesus and Jesus alone .

And what my mom was saying is like I'm good either way . It reminded me of Paul . Listen for me to die is gain Right , but if I stay here , it's for Christ to be glorified in me . If we could all come to the place where we're not , so we don't make the outcome the idol . Yeah , where it's like we're not the God of the outcome .

He's the God of the outcome . He's the God of the harvest . I sow a seed . I can't tell you if it's going to bring back 30 , 60 , or 100, . I'm not the God of the harvest . He's the God of the harvest . He's the God of promotion . All I can do is make sure that I'm still believing when it's all said and done , I still got faith . And .

I cannot allow the delay to deter me .

Speaker 2

That's so good .
