Certifiable Consulting Conundrum

There's a lot of pressure in consulting to stay billable, learn new things, and get certifications. Whether or not we want to admit it, brain dumps helped a lot with that last one. But now, certifications are adding a practical component to the exam. What does that mean for a consultant who's already burning the candle at both ends?
