And on this show and inside of my program , we're teaching busy dads just like you had to do just that . So hit that subscribe button if you haven't already . And on today's episode , I want to talk about why you can't afford not to invest in your health and fitness .
I'm going to keep this episode short , and I don't normally get on my soapbox here and talk about why you have to invest in your health and fitness or why you need to spend money on this or anything along those lines . But recently I've noticed that a lot of people have been applying to my program and they go through the whole process .
They say , yes , this is perfect , this is exactly what I'm looking for . And it's like , okay , great . And then so here are the final details , this is how much it costs . And then it comes to like a screeching halt .
It's usually like man can't afford it or , oh , I need to think about it , or I need to go look at my finances , I need to go crunch some numbers , I need to go do some math . We're thinking about buying a house , we just bought a house , we're going to have a kid , we just had a kid , right , and all these excuses come up .
And again , I understand finances are real and so I'm not just saying that they're frivolous excuses , but there's a difference between a lack of resources and a lack of resourcefulness , and so what I mean by that is , let's just say , for example , you had a massive leak in your kitchen sink and it was literally like flooding your floor , and so you call the
plumber . The plumber comes over and they're like yeah , it's going to take me about five minutes to fix this , but it's going to cost $1,000 . It's like , okay , great , I don't want to spend $1,000 , so I guess I'll just figure this out myself . And would you do that ? If the plumber came to your house ?
It's leaking out of your kitchen , would you say , oh , it's $1,000? . You know what ? I'm just going to figure this out myself .
I'm going to piece together some YouTube videos , I'm going to get the old toolkit out of the box , I'm going to put on some dungaroos jeans or whatever and I'm going to freaking , get to work and my wife is going to encourage me yeah , you could do this , babe , you could do this .
And it's going to take me a few hours or days to learn all the ins and outs of my sink and on YouTube videos and get the right tools . Then I got to go to Home Depot and buy some more tools because I don't have that tool and I'm finally going to fix the sink . Would you do that ?
Yes , I understand you don't want to spend $1,000 , but in that situation would you just say , hey , no , thanks , plumber , who can do this in five minutes ? Who's a professional ? I don't want your help . I'd rather just figure it out
¶ Hiring a Professional Trainer Is Important
myself . Or let's say another scenario you wake up and you're getting ready for work and then you realize your car is just not working , for whatever reason it's not working . And so you take it to the mechanic and the mechanic says , yeah , I can fix this , but it's going to be $1,000 . And it's like , oh great , you know what ? I don't .
That's no , I'd rather just figure this out myself . So I'm going to again grab some YouTube , piece together some YouTube , get some tools and figure this out myself .
What could take the mechanic five minutes to fix he's a professional is going to take me days or hours , if not days , to figure this out by piecing together some YouTube videos , going to the getting the tools , buying the tools that I need , buying the parts and all that stuff , and I'll figure this out myself .
And in doing so I'm also going to be missing a couple of days of work because I can't get to work because my vehicle doesn't work .
So , again , I paint those two illustrations , or those two scenarios , to illustrate how it's not a lack of resources , it's a lack of resourcefulness , because in both of those scenarios , like you know , yes , you don't want to spend the $1,000 on fixing the sink , but if you had to fix it , you know , because it was flooding your kitchen , I'm sure you would find
$1,000 . Whether you put it on a credit card or you just take it out of your savings or whatever same thing with your car . It's like you know I could , I could just miss work for the next few days and figure this out , or I'm going to pay the mechanic $1,000 . I don't want to , I rather not .
But you know , at the end of the day I need my car , and so here we go .
So when you're applying to a health and fitness program like this one , now , look , I want to say this if your goal is to just like , hey , I'm already in pretty good shape , I work out regularly , I just kind of want to see my abs , and it's like okay , and you don't want to spend $1,000 to do that , great , you're already working out regularly , you know
what to do . Just work out a little harder , dial in your nutrition and you're going to be great , right .
But if you have 20 , 30 , 40 pounds to lose and your lab numbers are going in the wrong direction and your doctor is saying , hey , look , man , you need to turn the ship around , and you know you feel winded when you're walking up a flight of stairs or you lack energy , you don't feel like you have enough energy to play with your kids and you need naps
throughout the day and you don't like the way you look in the mirror , right ? Well , that's tantamount to , you know , having a sink that's flooding your kitchen . Right , it might not be in your mind like as big of an emergency , but it's kind of an emergency , right ? If all those you know lab results and blood markers are moving in the wrong direction .
Like that . Those are kind of like the check engine light on your car . Same thing , you know , it might not feel like your car is sitting dead in the driveway and you won't be able to work for the next couple of days unless you fix your car , because it's this slow creeping thing .
But again , if you have 20 , 30 , 40 pounds to lose and things are moving in the wrong direction , that is an emergency and you should want to hire a professional who can hit the fast forward button on your progress and actually help you get the results that you want to achieve . Like , can you figure this out on your own ?
Can you go to YouTube , piece together some workouts , some meal plans , some nutrition and all that stuff ? Like , absolutely , you could absolutely figure this out on your own . However , there's a good chance you don't have time to figure this out on your own right .
Like you outsource other things in your life Like , I said , plumbing , you know the mechanic stuff or maybe you outsource other things in your life , right , you pay for laundry , you pay for cooking or you buy meal services . Like you outsource other things in your life .
Yet when it comes to this one area in your life , a lot of guys think like , oh , I can figure this out on my own right , I'll do some push-ups , I'll do some crunches , I'll eat some chicken , I'll dial things in , I know what I need to do .
Yet most guys don't know what they actually need to do , and so they end up floundering and ringing their hands and yoyo dieting and seeing some minimal results and then gaining it all back . And seeing some minimal results and gaining it all back because they just don't know what to do .
So my question for you is have you ever been in a situation where you have like , okay , I'm piecing this together , I'm running more , I'm doing some push-ups , you know I'm losing some , I'm going to try keto , I'm going to try fasting , but then you know , once you stop , you gain all the weight back .
If that's happened to you , it's because you know and I say this respectfully you don't know what you're doing , you don't know how to do this sustainably , you don't know how to actually make this total and permanent transformation .
So it's time for you to outsource , it's time for you to hire a professional who can do this in you know , preferably five minutes , right , like the plumber who comes in here is like dude , I could fix this in like five minutes . It's going to cost a thousand bucks . So right , the mechanic yeah , I could fix this in about an hour .
It's going to cost a thousand bucks . So right , it's like oh gosh , I don't want to pay a thousand bucks , but this guy's a professional , he can figure it out and do it right . Well , it's the same thing when you hire me and my team to help you solve this problem once and for all and create total and permanent transformation in your life .
So , again , it's not a lack of resources . Oftentimes it's a lack of resourcefulness , like , yes , you don't want to spend a thousand dollars , but if you really had to , an emergency , you can figure out how to spend a thousand dollars . And I say this with love , I say this respectfully and I understand everybody's in a different financial situation .
So , like , if you legitimately don't have expendable resources , if you legitimately don't have extra money to spend on something that is seemingly frivolous like fitness , then yeah , that's a bigger problem and you need to go figure out that . You need to go solve that problem first . How do I make more money ? How do I get more income ?
How do I actually afford the things that I want to afford ? And maybe looking into a program isn't the sort of like next best step for you right now . Maybe instead you should be figuring out how to level up your finances or something , right . But if you do have the extra income but you just don't want to spend the money , well , that's different .
If you do make money , if you are financially stable , but you just don't like the idea of spending money on fitness , well , that's another story , right ?
So again , I say all of this out of love , out of respect , out of kindness , understanding that everybody's in a different situation , but I do want you to understand that this is an investment in your long-term health and fitness and one way or another , we're all going to be paying for our health and fitness , either on the front end , via programs , apparel ,
equipment , coaching , etc . Etc . Or on the back end with our health , our poor quality of life , with medical bills , with prescriptions and all that stuff . So it's up to you when you decide when you want to pay , either on the front end and with some preventative care , or on the back end with all the other stuff that I just mentioned . So that

is it . That is all , legacymakers . This is why you cannot afford not to invest in your health and fitness .
So if you're curious to learn a little bit more about my coaching program and you're like , okay , I understand this , I want to figure out the rest of it and see if it all makes sense , and just go to fordgerleaffathercom and I will personally be in touch to work out all of those details .
So until I see you next time , legacymakers , let's keep creating a legacy program . See if health and fitness , not only for ourselves but for generations to come , let's go . Thank you , have a great day . No-transcript . You , you , you , you . The main thing is
