Summer is usually the Division III basketball offseason but We Are D3 is back at The Basketball Tournament (TBT) 2023 to represent the division and play for the $1 million grand prize. In this episode we welcome in special guest Mike Rejniak, the head coach and general manager of We Are D3. Few (if any) have been part of Division III basketball in as many ways as Rejniak so we get his thoughts on the previous season of Division III basketball, the current state of Division III compared to what he has seen over his years and his early thoughts on next season. Then we dive into the meat of this episode to talk about his involvement in We Are D3 and this year’s TBT. We Are D3 will be playing in its fifth TBT in 2023 and the roster has quite a few new faces. We hear from Coach Rej on the philosophy of how the roster is put together and his thoughts on this year’s squad and their matchup against Mass Street, a Kansas Jayhawk alumni team.
