Episode description

Beth Basham, MS, RD, LD has been a dietitian for 14 years with her most recent applied experience in functional medicine, mindful and intuitive eating, and women’s health. She currently runs a virtual health coaching business and is an online course creator passionate for helping women break free from the diet industry, reconnect with their bodies and learn how to discover what she calls their “inner nutritionist”. Beth also has background and training as a yoga instructor and breastfeeding counselor. In this episode, Beth and I discuss: the differences between mindful and intuitive eating an example of the internal dialogue that can run through your head when making food choices (*ahem* cheesecake) regimented, prescriptive fad diets that promise "instant health" why it's not just what but how you eat that affects processes of digestion three tools you can learn to use to practice mindful eating during your mealtimes (hint hint -- these are things you can do TODAY!) why food is more than just nutrients AND how nourishing yourself is about more than just food Have comments, questions, or feedback you want to share?
