Episode description

2020 provides some useful takeaways for dealing with conflict effectively.

This year has been full of challenges and many are happy to put it behind them. As we turn the page, we can benefit from remembering a few lessons. First, many individuals reached across differences to help each other – these successes can be lost in the scope of the challenges. Second, when grappling with the issue of racial inequality – and other issues, too – we do well to remember that we are all individuals, and worthy persons. Third, as Damian Barr stated, we are in the same storm, but not the same boat. We all have different experiences, which shape our perspectives. Respecting those differences allows us to handle them better.

Finally, many thanks to my listeners, guests, and fellow podcasters. One guarantee for 2021: conflict will be a part of life. And, we can get better at dealing with it well.
