This week I was honored to sit down with cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist and author of How to Think Like a Roman Emperor: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius, Donald Robertson. Stoicism has played a big part in my life over the past couple years and Donald’s book was part of my initial introduction into the philosophy. The book is a detailed account of my personal favorite Stoic philosopher’s life, Marcus Aurelius. Donald and I discuss how Stoicism guided Marcus’s everyday life as a Roman Emperor and why the philosophy is equally relevant now as it was over 2000 years ago. I had a great time speaking with Donald and can’t recommend his book enough.
