Getting REAL About Heart-Led Leadership With Tommy Spaulding

Today's guest is Tommy Spaulding, the founder and president of Tommy Spaulding Companies, a leadership development, speaking, training, and teambuilding organization based in Denver. He is also a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today best-selling author of three books: It's Not Just Who You Know, The Heart-Led Leader, and The Gift of Influence.

Every day we humans get to choose whether we will be Leaders, Followers, or Critics. And, if we choose to be Leaders, there are two types: Servant Leaders-, or what Tommy calls Heart-Led Leaders, or self-serving leaders.

According to Tommy's research, 90% of leaders are self-serving. This is just one reason his work is so crucial.

During this conversation, Tommy and I talk about the importance of helping leaders first love themselves, which seems to have been the missing element in leadership development programs for so many years.
