Calm Down with Aaron and Carissa is a production of I Heart Radio. Welcome to the pre game, everybody of the Calm Down Podcast. But when on Thursday, when our real like long version, thirty minute version comes out, I think we should quickly go over what our notes are and then describe the stories because I have the same thing perfect. Um. Also just broke the second as you can see there, I tried to do the Chloe Kardashian
long nails the seconds broken. This is insane. Then this is just the exactly I've spent more time with Lynn than I have with my relatives over the past three years. Enough is enough, Um, this is the pre game. For those of you that are new here, it's ten minutes of fun. Gives you a little appetizer of what we'll talk about. As previously we think it's fine exactly well,
you know what, Um, that's all that matters. But it's a little precursory conversation of what we will talk about in its entirety on our full episode of the Calm Down Podcast that airs on Thursday. And let me just tell you I called Aaron for about five minutes before we jumped on here because I haven't talked to her in three days, and that feels like a month. She's doing hand gestures for those of you watching because she's hot.
I'm sweating a lot of things to discuss. I don't I don't know what's going on, but here we go. This is ten minutes designated to you guys, who are so wonderful and right in questions, which induces conversations which sometimes we didn't even know that we wanted to have. First one Stephica again, I'm sorry if I'm saying that wrong. Thank you for the question. The question is what was your first car? Ms andrews mine. I was just talking about this with my girlfriend's the other day. A Honda
Civic stick shift. So I learned how to drive this stick shift. It was really cool. But then when I bought my own first car, that was a car my mom and dad gave me. It was a hand me down I bought it. I was a Tampa Bay Lightning reporter. I couldn't afford a Beamer, so I got a Jetta, a black Jetta, because it was like the closest thing
to what a Beamer look like. Black tan interior, so it kind of looked like a Beamer, and I asked for it to be stick shift in case any of the Lightning players wanted to know how cool I was. And I was good at it, thankfully. No hills in Tampa. What about you, I'm just gonna there's so much I want to say with what you just divulged there, but is a PC show. So anyways, I'm glad that you knew how to work the stick, and we don't mean
in hockey ladies and gentlemen. I also had a stick ship, but that wasn't until my second car, my first car I shared with my brother. It was a Geo Metro. The irony of all of this is my dad owned car dealerships, so I'm thinking like rich. No, we weren't rich at all. Um. He sold the cars that eventually bought into the dealership. Lee Johnson, It's the l J Way for those of you that are in Seattle, you know exactly. Whatever is there any other way than the l G A way. No, there isn't a great story.
Tim hastleback when I worked with him at ESPN, his brother, not Matt, the other brother was in the cafeteria and I was on Sports Nation and he said to Tim and he goes, Hey, what's the car commercial girl doing on at ESP and he goes she works here. Anyways, if you guys are in the market for a Kia, a Mazda, Chevrolet, and Nissan jun the dealerships are growing, come on down. It's the l J Way just off
five four or five exit eighteen in Kirkland. Anyways. Bringing it back to my first car, my dad's like, uh, dude, I am buying anything for you. You guys have to earn all your money. You have to whatever. The car. My brother and I drove a Geo Metro. My brother is six four and two and twenty pounds. Uh huh. We came out to the car. My brother was a senior Jake Ryan quarterback picture. I was a sophomore. I thought it was so cool because my brother was like
the cool guy on campus. We came out to the parking lot one day after school after his football practice my basketball practice. The car was gone and I'm like, did I get repod, where's the car? No. The car was so light that a bunch of his offensive linemen were able to lift the car and move it to a different place in the parking lot. I share you not my mom yelled at my dad and said, this car is not safe. Our children are going to die
in this car. We didn't get a new car, drove the g at montro and then put red stripes on it with paint like it was a baseball. Is the ten minutes up? I think so if we could get one of those offensive linemen that picked that car up on the episode next week, that would be Josh. That was one of the offensive lineman. His name was Josh Uncin. Where is Josh with Stephanie and I don't find him? Oh my god. Okay, next question, Pape, go all right,
Danielle Clee or something like that. The match. Who is your partner and who would you like to seb partners? That's a good one, you go first. I love that the match. I would love to be partners with Charles Barkley. I mean, we know what he's like on the broadcast. You wouldn't win, but yeah, I wouldn't win, which is totally fine in it for the love of the game. It would be straight comedy him talking shipped to everyone else, getting in the heads of all the competitors. I would
love to be with Chuck on the course. You yeah, I would. I would actually, well, no, that's bad. I was going to say I like to be paired up with my husband because he's pretty good. Shocker, he's golfing now. Then I also think i'd be fighting with him. Um. I think Aaron would be really good. He did a great job this year. I thought he kind of well he did Carrie Tom let's be honest, and he had some great one liners, so that would be great. Who
would you like to see be partners? I think our boy Stafford needs to be involved through the grape vine. He is very good golfer and it's another way for his personality to come out. I think would be fun. I couldn't agree more for those individuals that don't know how funny Matthew is he is. He reminds me so much of my brother. Actually, he's so dry and the one liners would be fantastic. Um. Next question is from Jenny Keel twelve. Why does Carissa hate birds? I do? Also? Did?
I mean? Um hate birds? I don't know if I hate birds. I just the kind of freaked me out when they come like swooping in out of nowhere. Um. I think I have an aversion too, because my ex husband, Rob was his name. Um. He always wanted a parrot and I was like, we're not getting a parrot, and he goes, but wonder if I get a parrot and I teach it how to say you're pretty, you're skinny. And I was like, then I'll think about it. But
to this day, I still have seven hundred emails. If I like, go to search c r A like for the name Craig under Craigslist for all these birds. He wanted an African gray. It was like the special kind of parrot that he wanted. Needless to say, I never got it. I don't hate birds, but they're not my favorite. The swooping in and kind of dirty pigeons. Pigeons, no, thank god, there's not only swan swans. And that leads us right into Miss Nina's Ninas whatever. What is the
most Canadian thing Jared says or does? UM, I would say two things. What he says is a he says a lot. I say it as well, you can add to this, and I think one of the most Canadian things he does. I don't know if this is an American thing, but I've never met somebody that does this more than him. He freezes everything. His favorite cookie shop in town in Manhattan Beach is called Becker's. He loves
his little oatmeal cookie from there. He gets his little chocolate chip cookie and he eats part of it and then he puts it in the freezer. And I'm like, what are you doing? And he's like, well, just keeps it fresh. And I think I was showing our group this a rack of ribs he had one time and then they were four years old, and he had blocked a shot in the game that night and came back and his ankle was all swollen. He was like, hey, I think we have a rack of ribs that we
need to cook up. But in the meantime, can you grab him so I can put him on my leg. I'll post that picture on the Calm Down podcast. They were expired for four years, so no, we weren't cooking them up, but sure we were doing it to ice down his ankle. What a guy. Here's my question, where's the expiration date? Like? Does it say it on the package on the rack of ribs? Yeah, don't worry, I'll put it on the Calm Down. I g Yeah, it says expires and you can clearly see the date I
took the picture. It was like four years later. I'm writing this down. This is a further conversation for the full length podcast. The expiration date. If something says expires, Let's say it's June and it says June seventeenth, are we throwing out? Are we not throwing out? Like? Oh no, it just has to be the cell by date has to get off the show. I think what it is, Well, what's the grace period? I'm going to write it down. I had coffee the other day and I was not
excited about what transpired after that. I'm writing down. Okay, coffee creamer. There's something there, and I, you know, maybe that's why I got sick. Um, Okay, what's next. Drinks on the West day, yeah, Meredith, Mommy drinks on the first date. Yeah, I have to have a drink on a date. I remember Brooklyn Decker, which is a fun We need to get her on this podcast forever the best. So she was telling me when Andy and I used to work together on Fox Sports Live. Every night, she
was Willis's babysitter. I would drop Willis off from their house. She would because he was a tiny puppy. I worked at Extra during the day, I worked at Fox at night. So she was saying how when she got set up with Andy, she was like, I had to get drunk before I went on a date with him. We'll save that, We'll get her on to tell the story. But yeah, they were both and they both had the same thoughts, so they were both wasted on their first date. Adorable.
Next question, Okay, this is our last one. We're going overtime. We have an overtime to the pregame. Does that happened? Megan one Hoffman tips unpacking bathroom toiletries when traveling. My toiletry bag takes up room mind does to Jillian Gregory makes fun of me about this, But I don't care. I've had way too many things ruined. I do the large zip block bags, I do all the travel size and zip block bag and I throw it in and I know it's not cute, and I know it's not hot,
but I've had way too much ship. And when you have an outfit that you're getting ready to sit down with an athlete and it's got freaking champions and condition her sains on it, that ain't good. We're all out of time. But I have of thoughts on that because my foundation which I text you about, are we still wearing foundation? When all over my makeup bag it's still like that. It's been a week. That's disgusting, I'm gross
