Calm Down with Aaron and Carissa is a production of I Heart Radio. Welcome to the pregame Calm Down Podcast. I feel like we haven't done one of these and forever. I don't think we have either. I don't even know how to talk apparently it's been so long. For those of you guys that don't know pre game and you're new to it, it's ten minutes of a little um preview of what we'll talk about later in the week on our full Calm Down podcast. So a lot has happened.
We went to Vegas this past weekend on a work trip, which was so much fun. Aaron knows my affinity for Vegas, so the second I have, you know, any intimation that we're going there, I get excited. I have my little bag of chips that I carry around there from previous trips to Las Vegas. So they're all kinds of casino chips. In this Ritos no not to Rito's Cool Ranch would be my favorite. Not the norm will Nacho, but in this particular case, I'm referring to poker chips, and they
come in all denominations. I even had a cash voucher that was ten cents. You did. That's so embarrassing. But everyone's like, why do you carry these around? Like because I leave Vegas with them in the bottom of random purses and then I just compiled them and when I go back, I used them. I did shitty this weekend in Vegas, but I did learn how to play crops,
which is a big win for me straight hand. And I were calling you, Blanche, you walking around with your with your with your old ladies ziploc bag and your chips. And then I was laying on your bed at like one thirty in the morning, and I was like, do you think these are really dirty? Remember when you held that fifty dollar chip in your hand at the private area that Fox was nice enough to get And I
was like, oh my god. And then she started pointing to all the cameras around there, like there's so many people watching me. Such a great time. And we did have a calm down, viewer, listener whatever, reach out and say, I'm sitting at a bar right now in Vegas with Terry, Jimmy and how we maybe was there and they said are you there? And it was like, girl, just give us twenty minutes and we are down there in a minute.
It was so much fun and will expand upon the trip in our full Calm Down Podcast episode for this week. But yeah, Fox does a fun little retreat with the two pregames and Aaron's crew is a way for us to bond in the off season and it's so much focus. We haven't been able to do it the last couple of years because of COVID, So more on that trip
in the full episode. But as we do on the pre game every week, or when we do a pregame almost every week, we UM answer some of you guys questions which are nice enough to write in or d ms on our Calm Down podcast. I G. This one comes from a photo gypsy m u QT, she asks UM, and she's a friend of the podcast and we love her so thank you for asking these questions. Very mindful. Oh she did make an uh whatever about herself an observation. She was in a hotel room. She said, she's destroying
her pores in the mirror of the hotel room. I know you're a fan of those magnifying mirrors. I don't even mess with that because I would walk out looking like I was I don't know, in a burn victim of like the cellosilic acid I would have to put on my face after destroying every pore on my face. I can't do it. I was so confused about our hotel room mirror that we had the magnifying one because I was actually I found a really good black head. Like literally we had to be you, myself and our
friend Joel Santos. We were on a text chain and we're like, let's meet downstairs in ten minutes, let's get it going before we get to top golf. And I instantly looked in it and I saw a great little black head, but the mirror was so low, and I was like, I don't understand this, So anyways, yes, I love it. I went to town as soon as I got home. This is exactly what I want to talk to you about. And I wasn't planning it. I would
just like to apologize. What am I apologizing for? When I went to the magnifying mirror at home, I had like three of the longest nose hairs hanging out, and I started thinking, oh my god, if everybody in Vegas when we were all together was noticing, like by the way, I could have braided these or they were like flowing in the Vegas wind, because there was wind when we
were landing. I'm surprised with the amount of alcohol we all consumed on this Vegas trip that no one said, Hey, Rapunzel, you want me to buy you a pair of scissors. I am so sorry. I had no idea. I went to town on my nose hairs. Okay, you know that I would be the first person to tell you, because on the way out there, I was going like this touching my face. What you're not supposed to do? Heard you talking about this keep the dirt away. And one of our bosses was in the back of the plane
with us. We were sitting in like a little area, and I was like, oh, ship, that chin hair is back, you know the one. It's course it pops up out of nowhere. You pluck it and then you think it's gone away. No, because I'm taking hair pills right now, which is why I've got the fake extensions back in,
because I'm trying to grow my real hair. But when you start taking hair pills now, the hair is coming out of the woodwork laser the majority of my body, t am, I, but this chin hair is alive and well, so there's no chance that I wouldn't have told you about the you know, no situation. But every now and then, oh, you know, another really good mirror that I find a lot of items in the rear view mirror in the car.
That lighting. You pull that thing down and you say to yourself, oh my god, I thought I waxed my eyebrows and there's some rogue hairs. So anyways, photo gypsy, Oh we hear you, we see you. I'm not really one for the hotel mirror, but every other meal with mirror with natural lighting, I'm in on. Okay. Another question she had, she says she's thirty eight and single in a new city, and so she was asking for tips.
I mean, look, I'm you know, I'm not the expert in dating, but I will say this as someone who's now single and ready to mingle. I think I don't do. I've never done any dating apps. Did you ever doting dating apps before you get married? No, I'm too afraid of that. Yeah, me too. And that's not calling anybody out there don't because I think you're very brave. But I just know totally. My sister actually on match dot com met her husband and this was twelve years ago.
I mean this is when it first came out, so it worked amazing. She had a nine month old baby, Alyssa, and because she had been cheated on by her first husband, Oh boy, do we have ex husband stories me out. So she had been cheated on by her husband who they worked together, which, by the way, Jennifer Thompson would love me to tell that story because she lived to see the dark days and came out better on the
other side. Anyway, So she had a nine month old baby and she met this incredible guy who's now my brother in law of twelve years on her first it was her first date on match dot com. They met for coffee and the rest is history. And other two kids at their own so it clearly works. But um, I would say, I I think for me being in now, definitely want to be vetted. Um meeting someone through friends
of friends that would be my advice. So whoever lives in your new city, maybe if you've got some friends like in a in a in a group date kind of a thing gets set up or I don't have any other advice. No, I think that's good because that's how I met Jarrett through straight hand and friend of a friend. I agree and we've had conversations about that before. It's like, if you don't know somebody for a very long time, but your friends do, that kind of just
vetted out a bunch of stuff. They're not going to bring an asshole into your life if they're like, you know, so, Yeah, I think that's great advice. I had posed a question on the Calm Down podcast i G about selling Sunset. I finally got through it. I finally like bench the whole thing just the last season. I didn't go back.
I don't feel like I need to lots of questions, but my number one question that I posed on i G. And I'd love to hear your thoughts because we've never talked about this, but now some viewers or listeners are writing in about it. What what filter are they using on that show this last season? That is not a normal that's not like what we're on with Fox. That's a filter. They don't have one freaking pimple or nose hair. You know, No, there's no chance because since we're all
and what are we in now? Four K, five K too too many numbers to count in terms of high definition. But it's a great question. I don't know, but I'll take it, but they are right, or it's that blown out lighting because sometimes, like when I watched Kelly and Ryan in the morning, I'm like, they look more power to them, whatever lighting is going on in that studio, because there's no shame and me, I will take all
the light me up like a Christmas tree. I mean at this point, I don't know, but there's definitely incredible lighting. Or in post production they can add some filter situation because you don't want them to look they want them to look perfect, so there's no I mean when we look we go back on first reality shows too. Now everyone even like the Kardashians. I don't know if you've been watching and I was going to ask you, you said you are watching it. Are they doing this too? Yeah?
Everything's perfect, great, yeah, And I'm not mad at it, you know at this point. But well maybe I'll get into it on our full length podcast because I sometimes the too much filters, the too much filter, Oh girl, I at it. I mean, I'm gold be up to live with a filter, but I know, so that's my mouth and my face. Whoa. And with that, we're going to wrap up on the Free Game. We will see
you on our full episode on Thursday.
