Speaker 1

When she finally sat in the seat, I started screaming and talk back.

Speaker 2

That's her, that's her.

Speaker 1

Calm Down with Aeron and Carissa is a production of iHeartRadio. Well, without further ado, I mean, we thought that Taylor Swift showing up to the Kansas City Bears game was a worldwide event. So was having Greg Olsen on vacation taking time away. Look at this guy with a Jimmy Buffett in his hat. Rest in peace, Step down a pop top. Thank you for joining our podcast. This is our Taylor Swift moment.

Speaker 3

Well, I appreciate that there. I told my wife there's only a few people in the world that I would break away from our annual birthday trip to the beach four and you guys are at the top of the list. You guys are at the top of the list. So I said, sorry, honey, we'll celebrate tonight. I got to go talk to my Fox ladies and get to the bottom of all this love.

Speaker 1

You cared me so much, of course, played fourteen years in the league, two time All Pro, three time Pro bowler and an all round great guy. Won an Emmy for his sports brought casting prowess with the A Crew team on the scene yet cheer by.

Speaker 2

The way we all have it.

Speaker 1

I can't even get interlibrating Greg's vacation. Yeah, I don't even get an invite to go to watch other people.

Speaker 2

Win the award. It's a Mintro award.

Speaker 1

But either way, Greg, we appreciate you being here. You get to spend three days out of your week with my gal. I'm so jealous. I get the texts and updates from you guys. So Aaron, who is wearing a Tailor's For those of you listening to the podcast, this gal has already had a Tailor's swift printed picture from her in the suite silk screened onto a white pin shirt in a matter of ten minutes, because this is

how she rolls. I am wearing the thank you for asking the Greg Olsen hoodie from SPORTI yes it is, Yes it is.

Speaker 2

Are you an investor, Greg?

Speaker 4

I'm not. But how comfortable is that sweatshirt?

Speaker 2

It's the only swets that I wear. I throw all the other ones out.

Speaker 4

Sure did wear other than where other than were other?

Speaker 1

Well, that doesn't count. These are in different categories anyway.

Speaker 3

This is not a license. This is not an NFL licensed product. So completely different, completely different exactly, so they don't sell sport ticket cracker barrel.

Speaker 2

That's a story in the D block right now. The headline is these two.

Speaker 1

Yesterday we're at the big forget the Super Bowl usher, Congratulations.

Speaker 2

We'll get to you later.

Speaker 1

Taylor Swift in this suite watching her boyfriend Travis Kelcey, and you guys were there. Give me all the details when you found out go set the scene.

Speaker 3

Yes, well, it was actually Aaron that broke the big news. We were down on the field. We had just said hi to all the guys. So we have kind of a pregame routine where me and Burkhart come down from the booth, we meet Aaron and we kind of do a lap around the field.

Speaker 4

We call, you know, let's make our lap, and we.

Speaker 3

Kind of go and you know, we say hi to various members of each team in front office people and players, and each week kind of has a different vibe based on how many people that we know from each team. So this week obviously a big priority for me is I've gotten to know Travis over the years.

Speaker 4

He's a good buddy of mine.

Speaker 3

So you know, I said hi to a bunch of people from Chicago, and then we made our way down to the chief sideline and we went out to the field and the tight ends were just getting started with mahomes doing like their pre practice kind of pregame warm up routine. So we said how to those guys and we bullshited for a minute, and then all of a sudden,

Aaron walked up. She's like, guys, I just got a text from Ze who's Richie Science, our producer, and she's like, the word on the street is that Taylor Swift is here.

Speaker 4

And we were like, I mean, really, like what do you mean. She's like, I don't know.

Speaker 3

She's like, I'm just hearing this from everyone else. And then she got a couple more texts and she's like I have to ask him. I'm like, yeah, you do, I said, Travis, when you're done with this whole football thing, Aaron Andrews needs to speak to you. So he did pick it up.

Speaker 1

He like, Trav is in the middle of like it really was like a drill, if you will. Is that what we call him, Greg, He's in the middle of a drill. Greg's streams, Hey, Trav, this is not a easy in a minute to talk about some non football things. I was like, oh shit, cats.

Speaker 3

Out of the bag, meow, you know, and then you know, obviously we all saw introductions and.

Speaker 4

No stop.

Speaker 1

Yeah yeah, let's not the end of the gay go And I talked to Travis.

Speaker 2

I run over.

Speaker 1

I'm like a little kid on the sales stands and the three of us great friends Greg Moore, so just because they have the brotherhood and the tight end, you going for them. But Trav great guy to all three of us. He goes, yeah, she's going to be here. But you didn't hear that from me. I run over to Greg and Kevin like a little kid. I'm like, you guys, shy hare. Greg's like, how are we even going to handle this? Like how are we bringing this

up during the game? Like how are we handling? But okay, here's the thing about it, and there's a there's many different talents to this story that I can't wait to dive into, swirl the glass of wine. It's a full body I just anyone that is not into this story, I'm not interested in any.

Speaker 3

Peters because they have poop in their pants. They have poop in their pants. There's no other there's no other explanation. If you were that's a tough guy. The amount of people like, you know, I don't. I tried not to make a living, like checking mentions on Instagram and Twitter and what people are ridiculous.

Speaker 1

Take it from us, that's not a good idea. You'll end up in a regal position. Change your pants every.

Speaker 3

Once in a while, you do and whatever, And like the amount of people are like, stop talking about Taylor Swift and Travis. I'm tuning in for the game. I'm like, really, the score is forty one to nothing. Fucking get over yourself. The game sucks. We'll thank god she's here. It's saving the day. If you don't like it, tune into another broadcast because we're going to have a blast.

Speaker 4

Like, get over yourself, get out to yourself.

Speaker 1

You know. The Broncos wish that Michael Jackson came from the dead and was in the stands in that game. They're like, oh my god, can we change it is off of us?

Speaker 4

Oh my Princeton, Minnesota.

Speaker 3

I mean yeah, I mean they just want superstars to deflect from how difficult the football is.

Speaker 4

But the way I could.

Speaker 3

Kind of imagine it, and again, I don't have any frame of our friends to compare this to but like, it's how I imagine people covering like the Royal wedding, Like this was our American pop culture icon, a traditional like football, tough guy sweating on like a true like Americana ball hero like teaming up for like the American Royalty.

Speaker 4

I don't know. It could last the week, it could last a year. They could nor need I need length to this.

Speaker 2

I need length.

Speaker 4

It was amazing.

Speaker 2

She's not wearing She's not wearing that teeth.

Speaker 4

It for nothing.

Speaker 1

There's so many levels to this. So whatever with the game, and we can keep talking about the game. I will say, Greg, you guys didn't have me in your ear at this point. But like when Russo finally Rich Russo, who was mentioned on Good Morning Football today, he's thirteen Emmy nominations. To correct the people on Good Morning Football are friends on Good Morning Football. When he finally got the shot, Greg,

I don't know about you. Like when she finally sat in the seat, I started screaming and talked back, that's her.

Speaker 2

That's har like what guys like.

Speaker 1

Because I saw the red lips and I was just like a fifteen year old.

Speaker 4

It was so exciting.

Speaker 3

I'll be honest. I took a picture of some of my telestrator in front of me. Is the production Like, that's the feed that goes to everyone's TV at home when they were showing us like we weren't on air, So they were capturing a couple of clips from the different cameras and they shared it on my telestrator.

Speaker 4

I'll be honest.

Speaker 3

I took a picture of the shop at the booth in pregame and I sent it to my daughter Talbotch. She was so fired up. Her immediate response, Daddy, did you meet her? I was like, no, honey, this was the best that I could do, but I took.

Speaker 1

A picture of her for you, so sweet. I'm walking, I'm going I have a quick break. I'm going to ge up something to eat. I'm in the hallways. Bill Richards, our executive producer, tell your girl that Taylor Swift's at the game. We need to get her on camera. And I'm like, oh, I'm right on top of that road and the QD reports.

Speaker 2

I'm sure she's gonna just come running. But yeah.

Speaker 1

So I was so excited when I found this out that I get back to my where I do the highlights and Aaron goes, she's here, and I'm like, yes, yes, yes, okay, why do you think Greg that, because we'll get to your your moment in the second of her hearting a tweet of yours, however many years ago. But why do you think to fame that Taylor Swift? Because I have my theories. Why do you think that Taylor Swift is so popular and everyone just like roots for her and loves her and you know all the things.

Speaker 3

I think that was really well done. Thank you, that was incredible. You know, I think again I'm the freaking you know, expert in this whole world. But you know, I think there's very few artists in the world who I can put on my wife puts on my son's put on my daughter, puts on my mom. Like everybody has a Taylor Swift album, a Taylor Swift song. I mean, I remember my wife and I always tell this story.

We were coming out of college. So it's two thousand and seven, we graduated Miami and there's this big music festival down in Miami called the Chili Off, and we're getting ready to go, and like the headliners are you know, Montgomery Gentry. But the first act of the day, so these festivals start at you know, call it noon, one o'clock. Nobody goes to the early shows, and we're like, who is this Taylor Swift girl? So we get there in the afternoon. We're going to make the day of it.

And she's got like one hundred people listening to her. Seeing Tim McGraw before, she was like a real big deal. So like it just feels like there's a moment of Taylor Swift in everybody within the last forty years life. And we all remember like her real country countryside when she's she's.

Speaker 4

Not even a young girl.

Speaker 3

Well I'm thirty eight, so in my forty years, I don't know, I know whatever her age is, thirty years, twenty five years, whatever it is. And like I remember Tim McGraw. Then I remember going to see her on the nineteen eighty nine tour and singing like.

Speaker 4

Welcome to New York and then in the Wildest Dreams and like all these fire jams, and then her late album Into the Woods and you're just like sitting there, and then you got Anti Hero on her latest album, and like every album is just so unique, Like my daughter loves it.

Speaker 3

I could take my daughter there. My son's there. I can go with my wife, I can go with buddies on my team. Like it just works for everybody. And I don't know how many people on earth can say that they relate to every demographic literally known to mankind.

Speaker 1

I thought one of the cool like, I mean, CHRISA, you missed it.

Speaker 4

Greg.

Speaker 1

That's why I was so bummed that we all broke up last night. Greg went home, Kevin and I went and got blitzed at the Kansas City Airport to get on his Southwest celebrate unbelievable hangover I've got right now. But Chris, we were facetiming Chrissa from the bar and she was sending us memes and sending us memes, but the one I was having a concert of my house drinking wine force. She was like, he goes, were you this excited when you met me? And I was like,

I don't think so. I was just blasting Taylor Swift FaceTime.

Speaker 2

I loved it. I was it was.

Speaker 1

Great, right, this guy real wedding. Yeah, but I love of the meme that's out right now. I think Sports Center did it. It was gosh, and I wish we had gotten it on our cameras. Probably fourth quarter, all the guys are out, the starters are out, and Travis and Patrick wave to her, and then all the trainers.

Speaker 2

Where's that wave? Hey, Patrick's that's a very Matthew's traplard way. Yeah, but it was so great, and all the trainers are like, oh wow, oh.

Speaker 3

Wow, it's awesome, and I think it's awesome. I don't know, there's also something about it. Obviously I know Kelsey well, you know, he's a buddy of mine and obviously a fellow tight end, but like there's also something really cool that it's not like the star quarterback. Yeah, I don't know, Like there's something about like Kelsey's just like a dude.

He's just like an every man's dude. Like Aaron and I and her husbands, their husband Jared, we have this group text and I send like funny videos of them, Like we had this thing about like being like a hockey bro. Yeah, just like a full on just a regular dude, like the guy in the locker room you want to have a beer with, you want to shoot the ship with, and you just want to hang with.

Speaker 4

Like that's Kelsey. So there's kind of like a all.

Speaker 3

American kind of like normal do normal bro vibe to it that I think is also part of the appeal.

Speaker 1

And that's why the Swifties should I mean, I don't know what the consensus of the Swifties are, but a bunch of people that I follow that aren't so much Swifties, but are you know, comedians and stuff like that are like good for her, like get it like a man, you know, like, yeah, I love it, get a man.

Speaker 4

I mean, think about this scene right.

Speaker 2

Across your legs? Are you acrossing your legs?

Speaker 4

I love it?

Speaker 2

Wait this I have I have the theory on this.

Speaker 1

It's you're the college coach that does the over extended rub the large sky and say, ony, don't you come have a seat to your players while you discuss cutting them in all.

Speaker 3

Seriously, my desk is way too close to my legs and I'm too tall, so if I sit under it, it's sits. It's too close to my legs. Dead, poor choice of furniture. I'll talk to my wife about it in a minute.

Speaker 4

Helps available.

Speaker 1

It's a virtual in home design services we can offer you.

Speaker 4

So picture this.

Speaker 3

So we're walking out of the stadium yesterday, and this is what God's honest truth and we're walking down of the stadium and there's this really nice ss. I think it's a Camaro old school vintage and it's in one of the parking lots. Yes, And I said to Burker, I was like, little does this guy know? Man, Like he pulled in this morning at ten am, eleven am. It's a beautiful day. They just one by forty. He's gonna hop in his convertible drive home. I had no idea it was Kelsey's car.

Speaker 4

Amazing. So then the pictures.

Speaker 3

Online pop up of the two of them leaving the stadium and like, I think again, Like we go back to like why is this happening?

Speaker 4

Like why is this so appealing? It's the high school girl jumping in the car with her boyfriend.

Speaker 2

Ta yea Cindy Mansini, Yeah.

Speaker 4

And like.

Speaker 3

It's just there's something so normal about it, right, there's something so wholesome and normal.

Speaker 4

And listen, I'm not a psychiatrist.

Speaker 3

I don't no Taylor Swift at all, but like if I'm her, I'm like, You're damn right, I'm jumping in this thing. I'm going to be normal for a couple of hours. I'm going to cheer for my boy. He scored a touchdown. I don't give a shit who cats me on camera. I don't give a shit what I look like. I'm jumping in this car and we're going to go out to dinner after and I'm going to be a normal person, and like, I'm all for it.

Speaker 1

Three things that I loved about this, And there's a multitude of things, but number one, you actually showed up. You weren't trying to be too cool, yeah, trying to hide. You weren't in sunglasses, try to be whatever. You have things and red lips, and I am so in hu. You're next to the mom who being sweet and like real, like you know, her relationship with her mom and her relationship with her dad, Like that comes through. It feels genuine. And then also he scores a touchdown and you're like,

let's fucking go. I love that you're not just going like this.

Speaker 2

She bumped.

Speaker 4

She wasn't too cool, she chest bumped. I want to know who the guy next to.

Speaker 1

Her with everybody dies and I think the swifties need to come out and let us know.

Speaker 3

Yep, we got to figure that out. But obviously you know she was pumped into and like I just think she didn't make it. It's not her fault. The story became her, that was not her. That's not her fault. That's just the reality of being who she is. But like, I don't know, she didn't come down on the field. She didn't make it all about herself. She didn't make this great entry. It's like she was there as a fan, dressed casual Karen on Kelsey and.

Speaker 4

The team and was into it. And I give her a lot of credit.

Speaker 3

Like she could have had her guard up, she could have been uncomfortable, she could have been hiding. She embraced it, and she's like, you know what, for an afternoon, I'm going to be a normal person cheering on her boyfriend friend whatever we want.

Speaker 4

To call them. Like, I give him a lot of credit. I think it's awesome.

Speaker 1

I think for the first time too, not his intro into you know, the stadium when they did and he shot at bow and Arrow and he was like out running and being all cute. I love the shot of them leaving together where they can't get away, which I feel so bad. This girl's trying to have a normal life, but she's so comfortable and she's like, hey, and for the first time eighty seven looked.

Speaker 2

A little shy.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I'm gonna have about Jared Payton getting the capture that.

Speaker 1

Jared, I have question act like you've been. I don't need you to, Jared, I need you to lay low on that one. He wants the credit on that. That's fine, but he does. Hey wait, so Greg in the game and then we'll move on to other things.

Speaker 2

Maybe. But in the game you said you're claim to fame.

Speaker 1

Of course, not the fourteen year great career that you had, the All Pro career. It was up until that point that Taylor Swift liked to tweet explain how this went down for those of them.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's that's true.

Speaker 3

So so when she went on the nineteen eighty nine tour, she came to Charlotte. So this was probably like two thousand, fifteen sixteen, give her somewhere like in that area. So we so my wife and I and we go with Ryan and Natalie Khalil, who Aaron knows well. They live out in Manhattan Beach by her dreams. So the four of us go to the Taylor Swift concert like where the Hornets the basketball team where they play in Charlotte. So we go and you know, we're having a blast.

That's my favorite album. As I said yesterday on the broadcast, every song is fire. And me and Ryan like they passed out these glowstick bracelets or necklaces something I don't remember exactly what was, but there was something glows sticky that they passed out in the stands, and we like filmed the picture of the two of us and we made like, you know, her like signature heart sign with the glowstick or whatever, and like we were just having a great time and we posted it.

Speaker 4

She liked it. No big deal.

Speaker 3

I don't want to make my wife jealous. I don't want to make other people jealous. I don't want to make Kelsey jealous. But she liked my she liked my tweet, and until yesterday announcing their relationship to the world. Prior to yesterday, that was my signature claim the fame, and now yesterday obviously trumping that making the big debut they wanted me to present them to the world.

Speaker 4

Sure, so that was special, But prior.

Speaker 3

To that, it was the tweet being liked on her nineteen eighty nine tour about seven eight years ago.

Speaker 4

So big moment. I don't want to brag.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I don't want to hate myself with that brush. But yes, yes she did like a tweet of mine. Well, it's great she did to put a pin in it. As Kevin said, it's the romance America needs. He said it on Airy I Die.

Speaker 2

Yes, so true.

Speaker 3

It was good, wonderful. I'm happy. I'm happy for Kelsey. I'm happy. I mean he's come a far away from uh the Kelsey or catching Kelsey.

Speaker 1

Yeah, interview him when I was on Extra before he was like the Travis Kelcey that everyone knows now, even pre Taylor Swift, and he was like, you know, on all these commercials and like this big character, big face in the NFL.

Speaker 2

I have this picture of us.

Speaker 1

I mean it must have been from whatever eight years ago whenever he did the show. He looks so young, and I'm like that show is now going to be one of those things where he's like, Jesus, why did I do that?

Speaker 2

But it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1

How about Bill Belichick say that guy's caught a lot of good passes in his career. This is the biggest catch he's ever had. When Bill Belichick weighs in on this, you know what.

Speaker 3

Listen, it's great And you know what, I'm Kelsey is as good of a dude is down to earth. He's just a great dude. I like him a lot. I like his brother. I like the whole story.

Speaker 4

You know what. I hope it lasts forever. I hope they're happy. I hope. I mean, I'm all for it.

Speaker 1

This is the last thing I'll say about this because Aaron won't say this. Travis Kelsey bought her a baby gift for mac like who does that? And made sure he found the address and it was a sweet gift with a sweet card. And he's just one of those people. And I know it's like he's like a brother to us and.

Speaker 2

We just love him.

Speaker 1

But like who he is very busy, But to think about, like Aaron had a baby, so I'm gonna buy her a baby gift, Like Taylor, you've got yourself a good one.

Speaker 2

Do not let him?

Speaker 1

Yes, and Swifties trust us, like, welcome to our side.

Speaker 2

We want her on our side.

Speaker 1

It's about time she watched this Saturday Night Live episode where he is helping other girl's boyfriends lift up their girl. Now, just think of that's your goal. I mean, that's a perfect Travis Kelsey, It's the best skit episode.

Speaker 4

True. It is, it is, It is so true.

Speaker 1

When Greg Olsen agrees to come on the podcast, you make it a two parter. We have so much more coming up on the big show. We are going to ask him about travel tips and also why he doesn't accept anything from flight attendants. It's like Christmas gifts or something like that.

Speaker 2

And we also.

Speaker 1

Ask him and start crying of laughter because we're laughing so hard. You get it. I'm tired about Chris's infamous game break Highlands, Oh God, and also his favorite thing about Aaron.
