Did you guys just call yourself Mills because you are. Calm Down with Aaron and Carissa is a production of I Heart Radio. Okay, you know I don't have a lot of things I like to brag about, but I'm really good at rolling my arts. Can we do the Travis Kelsey now? Can we do it? My god? Go sister, give it to me your math? Do you? I love him? I love it best. He's the best. And you know what, I'll tell you what the best really is our Calm
Down podcast versus their podcast. I mean, stop facting like you. Guys are so successful and popular. Congratulations to Travis and Jason, love them both. Welcome to the Calm Down Podcast everybody. Yeah, we have so much to unpack and talk about. We do. Let's start with Travis dream. How is he smelling? Always smells amazing. It's leave Vuton, I believe Yeah that's what he said. Anyways, Uh, guys, we got two weeks. Super Bowl is finally here, Aaron, of course it's worth the
NFC Championship Game. The Eagles advance will take on the Kansas City Chiefs. We mentioned Travis Kelsey. He will be taking on his brother Jason Kelsey, which, by the way, like and we talked about it when you were leading into your Bluck Party interview, which was incredible and obviously you know, have you get into all of that, but such so sad, right, like the Cinderella story didn't even get to get to midnight. It was ten o'clock, and we wanted the fairy tale, not even because we're partial
to whatever our friends and wanted a game exactly. And I don't want to speak for you, you were working the game, but um, we just love the stories of families because Aaron and I go very close to our own families, and like, how cool is that for the Kelsey's, for his mom and dad to like, you know, you drive these boys to practice and you know their little league, the peewee football at all this and like to see it come to fruition where you get to stand and
he Travis Eve said, He's like, my mom is gonna be a winner either way. It's so awesome. I can't wait for the game. Couldn't ask for a better matchup. I mean even those final four teams were the best teams all year long, So I can't wait for it. But um NFC Championship game. You're in Philadelphia. Go well, first of all, can we just give ourselves a little bit of love here? Hey? Fox, do you need any more evidence that we need a segment? Pretty much every week?
And except for if I'm doing a late game. If I'm doing a late game, I love you, c T. I'm not going to feel that early. But if I'm being able one o'clock, why are we not getting a segment? I'm sorry, I'm gonna do you know how many people texted me after that and said, you guys were fantastic. Yeah, welcome to the Calm Down podcast on the Fox Free Game. That's what she's called. So here's a little tease though.
I got told by a little birdie that's putting together the Super Bowl rundown that we are gonna get a couple of minutes together. Now are we going to take liberties and take that minute thirty and make it three minutes and thirty seconds? Let's blow that run down? Right? Best stretcher out wrap? He trapped me. I need to ask is not working? Is not working? Whoa anyho? Okay? So I can't wait for that. Aaron and I will do our stand up comedy acts. Standing up or sitting down,
fight for right to party. So Championship game, walk me through, you're working to San Francisco, forty Niners, Sideline and chaos, and let's about our segment. I mean, we couldn't have been Tutor, tell me Sean Payton love to be included in all of it. Me knock it off. This is what he said to me. And I don't care because
Sean wouldn't care if I said this. After we do our hit together, I was leading to Aaron, who had sat down with Brock and Aaron and I never get to actually like do anything in the show together, right, So I say that we could be old enough to be you know, Brock's parents moms, because we could, right, That's like an actual fact, we could be his mother. Shan, go, did you guys just call yourself Mills because you are
Sean Get over here, you a little cutie. I love him so much, and then of us and say to you, Aaron, just go, she's so great that anyways, no one's a bigger fan of Sean Payton than you and I. Okay, so super Bowl we have a lot to look forward to. But in the meantime, we have to go back revisionist history tell us. Because I haven't talked to you, I've been doing it, which is very rare for us not to actually be able to download on what's happened since
the game. But you're on the sideline. Brock gets hurt. Go it's a part of the game. It sucks you hate it. I mean I think I was a little too emotionally invested because I love Kyle, I love John Lynch, we all do the players, and you just want a fair shot. You just want to you want both teams to be healthy. You don't want to see well, first Fred Warner goes down and we're thinking, holy sh it, no, like he's the heart and soul of the defense, Like
get up, get up. He gets up. And then, like I said, you just don't want it to come down to what it did that they're on their fourth string quarterback. Then they lose him. So, which is crazy that Christian mccrazy is sitting there a book, a tablet, insert of whatever. People wouldn't believe if I told you this ship that was going on the sidelines Before we got on to record, I just was downloading with our producer, Richie's Zions, who, by the way, did. I'm just gonna brag and probably
talk too much for a minute. But all of you young females that are listening to this and ask us about being in sports broadcasting or news, here's one for you. Here's a live TV one oh one. And this is why I get off on it, but not in this way, because I didn't want to see anyone get hurt. He goes out there, he gets, you know, injured, He comes back to the sideline. We don't think anything of it.
When you do this for a really long time and you feel like you're eighty years old, you start to understand when doctors are walking over or or medical attention is going somewhere. It doesn't take a genius to figure something out. You're like, something's wrong. So I just went over and I saw the head doctor for San Francisco, who I love, go over to Brock. He starts looking at him, So I say to Z Richie's to be called Z as our producer. He has a lot of
voices in his head. He is talking to Kevin, he is talking to Greg, he is trying to follow the game in real time. He is listening to me, He's listening to Ronaldi, he's talking to the director. He's I mean the amount of ship. I just told him the live feed of all of us talking to you. I would love you to put that out there. I never thought because I can't imagine what that was, so much freaking information coming in. So I said to Z, Philly's
on the field. Offenses on the field, Z, when you get a second, just a minute, Aaron, and I see the doctor working on him. I wait a couple of seconds. I'm like, because they need to get a shot at right away. Ze. When you get a minute, Aaron, I need you to hold on. I could tell it was bad. I'm like, Ze, I need to talk to you right now. He's like, yes, Aaron, what is it? I was like,
I need a camera on brock party right now. They're looking at I can't tell if it's his wrist, if it's his hand, it's you don't want to miss it. You like, is to literally need to get it in ears. Yea, they need to get it so we get a shot on it. Kevin is like, okay, la, la la, you know this is what's happening down there. We go to break, We go to break, and I see Brock getting up. I still see the medical attention with him. I see Kyle coming over. I'm like, can you open me up?
When I say that, that means I'm talking directly to Kevin and Greg. I'm like, guys, something's going on. Like I can't tell if they're looking at this. I can't tell if they're looking at that. And He's like, you're coming back from break and you're gonna say this is happening and great. All of a sudden, I see Josh Johnson get up, I do my hit my mike is. I'm still talking to the guys. I see Josh Johnson coming. I go Greg, Greg, Greg Greg. I literally screamed like
a little kid. I'm like, Josh Johnson is coming in, and Kevin's like, purties out, pretties out, and we're like, holy sh it, So this isn't break Like Z has to figure out and he goes, Okay, everybody calmed down. So Josh Johnson goes in the great plug for the Calm Down podcast. I'm still trying to see if they're working on pretty all the while, I'm like, who the funk is a backup quarterback? I knew before Christian McCaffrey joined the forty Niners that Kyle, you check was the backup.
So I said in break, I said, hey, Greg, I know that you check is the backup. But he goes I think it's McCaffrey. I'm like, ship, I gotta figure this out, because what happens if he goes down, Josh Johnson goes down? Oh my god? What? There was a moment again, Greg saying something, Kevin saying something, I'm saying something, and Z just said, hey, guys, let's just let's stop for a second. Kevin, you bring us back. Aaron, you tell us what you saw. It was fucking awesome, awesome.
He's been in every situation, everything. It produced a million Super Bowls and the chaos that ensues, but it is. It's a testament to his experience, but also to you guys. I mean, everyone's got their respective jobs to do, and your job is to tell the viewer at home what's going on. So it's like, you know, for you guys, I don't know. I just I can't imagine that that whole city for for the Niners. And again, you worked
a lot of different Niners games. I mean, you worked the first Rock Party game with the Tom Brady game, and Christian McCaffrey's uh, you know, arrival to the Bay. It's like, there's, yes, you mentioned being emotionally invested, but this poor team, they overcame so much, got this far, and for their season to end the way it started, I know, with a quarterback going down. It's like Christa, you did the first interview, which trade Lance in Shanahan
and then to think about Jimmy. Season started with Trey Lance and it ended with the mere thought that Christian McCaffrey would be going in even for testament to Brockberty though for going in, I mean this guy, and you know, I'm not a doctor, but the older nerve situation being reported, like for him to even go back in there to hand the ball off, I don't know. I just I'm excited for them. Obviously right now is not the time
to talk about that. But they're very young. They have a lot there's you know, all those guys coming back and they're not done. You know, they've been in three of the last four NFC championship games. There's a lot of upside in that team. Um, they depite one piece, they need one piece, and that kid's not going to be ready for six months. They need one piece, don't say, and Kyle Shanahan they need one piece. It's an interesting conversation.
One piece, one piece, hold off one day. Anyways, my final thought is this things that people don't see and I get it. It's part of the game. It's injuries. It sucks. I'm happy for the Eagles. Love those guys. They're awesome. But ye cutie too, like those kids at that Oh my god, that little girl. I cannot So there was a press con earlier earlier in the year, earlier in here on the broadcaster earlier here, and we
had them on Amazon the next week. I never do this because just whatever, I'm a nerd, but I'm like, I belined for him and I go, Hi, I'm Charissa, I've never met you. I love your children. Because those baby bears up at that podium, and he was like, oh my god. I was trying to make sure that they say this what This was the earlier in the year press conference where you first got a glimpse into
how cute they were. So when I saw them back up there, that little girl at her like mannerisms, I was like, how adorable and you know, like with us like being so close with the Staffords and like those little girls up with Matthew at the end, you know, last year, and that moment, Like how cool it is to like have that, Like those families don't see their dad a lot because they're working hard to get, you know, fulfill their dreams, and so it's like to be able
to share that moment and really have it be a family affair. It was very cool. What a great super Bowl you have, sister. Are you excited? Yeah, it'll be good. I am trying to start getting the studying done now because once you know, we get to Arizona, it's like a ship show, free for all. I gonna go to bed early tonight. Oh. I went to about at two am because Sean and Chris our outside and I'm talking to drinking. Diane Long get over here. I mean, it's crazy.
Super Bowl is such a fun I mean it's different for you, you know, like, yeah, I have some hits in the pregame, but like actually working the game and all the meetings and all the zooms that you have with these players and coaches and stuff and leading up to it, it's a very very busy week for you, and but also such a cool thing. I know I've mentioned it before on here, but I think you said
this your fourth or your fifth super Bowl. Uh, it's the dream of where you always And we talked about it, uh like a week ago, and we were doing something which I'm excited for to come out and we'll share with you guys later, a fun little project that Aaron and I got to do together. But my proudest moment as a friend is like standing on the sideline with you right before you get to do your hit and
right after just like, let's do that this year. Yeah, of course, but just like as little girls, we've always wanted to do this job, so never take it for granted and standing there on the biggest age and I can't wait for Rihanna. I know you'll be busy at halftime gathering your report, but I'm going to shine bright like a diamond and be dancing. I mean, come on, how about Marcus? Was it arch As Valdes scant link that was like can I watch the performance? Buddy? Like, okay,
can we say right now? Because we were trying to talk about it with Greg and Kevin the other night. I'm pulling her up on Spotify. I don't even know if I'm allowed to say that because we're I heart? What does everyone think she's coming out already? I already know. I have the hope. You do know? No, no, no, I don't know. I don't know. In my mind, I think I know. So the beginning part of Diamonds, there's like the few notes and then it just like hits.
I think that it's that because then she'll come back to it and he'll pull it up, it up enough fall out and then I think these are my predictions. I think Drake is coming out with or jay Z. I heard it's a possibility. Didn't it come out with Beyonce? Like if I'm Beyonce, I'm like, bitch you, I'm your wife, you better come out with me. No, I want that. I want the stage myself. I don't have to have him in. Okay, fair enough, fair enough. I was a song with Drake. She's got a lot, she's got the ones.
From his view, she's got um see. I think run this Town tonight is what you want to hear. And let jay Z come out that can you end with We're gonna run this town tonight? Did I just say that? That was gross? I need the thank you end with Run This Town Tonight and Z. Part of me was thinking like Eminem, but I was like Eminem was last year, Like she's got I don't know Calvin Harris, she's got a song with Calvin Harris. Is he deejaying somewhere? I
don't know. You guys submit your thoughts, questions, comments, and concerned. Speaking of that, this will be our segue into our new segment here on the Calm Down Podcast, which is all about the d ms that you guys respond to when we post. Our wonderful producer Ryan came up with this idea and I think it's fabulous. Yeah, this is a new segment sponsored by sponsored by ourselves, because no one wants a sponsor yet until they hear how great it is. So you guys will comment or d m
these things. So this first one is coming from at Hawk nineteen forty five, in response to Aaron saying she has a sensitive nose to body odor. How does she interview athletes in the locker room after a game if odor bothers her we're on the field, we don't. We don't go into a locker room. Thankfully, I don't need to go in there. That's their place. I'm good. I don't need to go in. I have a story and I will not say it on here. Maybe when we take this show on the road, I will share some
stories that I'm not willing to share on here. Somebody told an athlete told me about a young woman that used to go into the locker room and was so inappropriate. I can't wait. There's a tease, So stay tuned for the show, buy tickets. Don't even say this really too. I hate that. It's kind of like what we were talking about with the interviews on camera, like this is their world space. I do have a role in this. You have a role in this world as well. But I like to stay in my world even like I'll
say this really quick, like forty Niners. I was supposed to get the losing interview with Kyle Shanahan, which is what I think, one of the hardest things to do. But they were already you know, they were in there. He was I will tell you this. They were emotional. He came out right at the end after pregame was out. I don't hold that against them. This is their time, this is everything they've worked for. I can't even imagine, say a couple of things I was telling Jared about
really fast, just that being their world. That walk to that locker room is so tough. I was. I was saying to Jared, how I feel like I'm invading their world. I just put my head down. I want to know what John Lynch was standing outside that locker room. He embraced every single player walking in, and that's who he is. Yeah, I know I'm there to do a job, like we're setting up, we're grabbing a light, like our camera guy is ready for any moment that Kyle comes out. We
have to be ready to go. But guys are walking in like I saw Fred Warner, and I just put my head down and looked away. I don't want to look at that. I don't want to be like the kind of reporter where I'm like staring at them. This is their world, their moment, and I hate it, and I just want to like let them have a minute completely.
And I you probably have a really interesting perspective being married to a former professional hockey player, where it's like no one wants to feel like you're invading their space in a moment of defeat, like they worked their whole lives all the hours, all the time, all the sacrifices that they make to get there, they have to like answer questions and George Kittle, you know, on on the podium afterwards, like I don't blame him, by the way, those guys handle it a lot better than I would.
I'd be like, are you kidding me with that question? Like I didn't even shoot what was it was? It was about like somebody had asked him about like, oh, you know, is it disappointing to have your season ended because you don't have a quarterback? Well, no, ships, yes, it's sucking disappointing. Do you want to come out here with me? You weren't in the gym shooting with me? The Kobe line, like you get your ass in here to practice every day and the hours and the film
steady and of course it's disappointing. Yeah, I'm with you on that. I mean, I could go on and on, but we're on the field and I really don't smell them. And to be honest, those guys are great and just I'm the one that worries about my breath and not what they agree with you more, which, by the way, I'm off Altoid's after you and I were doing something the other day and like, you know that like wants to sponsor us. If they want a sponsor, I'll be back in. But I, um, I've discovered a new one
and I don't know the name of it. Actually, uh, Steve, it was like, gets it off Amazon. I'll look up the name. It's incredible. I mean it is like should be a prescription. It's so intense. But why don't I hate that feeling where it's like, you know, like if your breath smells and it's like you're just like so yeah, or like it's dry sometimes when I take my adderall prescription but I'm trying to like focus because I actually have a prescription. I need to focus. It makes my
mouth like chalking, and I'm like, Okay. Here's the other d M comment. It's from Deep post nineteen. It says I would have come downstairs and make noises one day we had companies staying with us, and I heard my girlfriends say, listen to the noises he makes coming down every morning. Not a peep after that. This was in response to Aaron making weird noises for no reason. So Deep Post nineteen thank you for the comment. The weird noises thing is always it's so funny that you like
caught yourself doing that. So Aaron was telling a story when she was changing in the restroom that she walked out and told people that were with her like, this is weird that I make these noises. I don't make noises. As we talked about the last episode or two episodes ago, I talked to myself a lot. I have full on conversations because well, sometimes that's the only person that will listen anyways, submit your d M concerns. I that, um, we appreciate you guys listening. All right. So, um, I'm
in New York. I'm flying to Vegas tomorrow. But whenever I travel, and Aaron, you travel now more than I do because there's no more Amazon. The hotel situations are always entertaining to me. And I don't know if I've mentioned this before, because sometimes I forget things. When you check into a hotel and they say how many room keys would you like? Seven? I mean, I'm gonna lose them all before you get up to the room. Who
are the one key? Hotel people? I need to know who you are, because if you can keep that one key for the entire dray of your stay. I'm so impressed. I lose chapsticks, I lose lip glosses, I'm losing the hotel key before I get up there. This is crazy anyone that just says, oh, I just need one room key, who are you? And I need to know your secrets. We stayed in a hotel a couple of weeks ago where they actually had the key card. You and I have talked about this with your room number and keeping
that straight. That they had holes in it that you could like put up to the elevator and your room so you wouldn't have to take it in and out of the sleeve. How great is that? But yes, I had to in there for the double like I have to know who the one key hotel people now, because it is on average, I'm gonna lose that thing. It's gonna end up in a bag, It's gonna end up somewhere in the back pocket exactly. So I have questions about that. But Rich Russo, our director, still returns his
keys after his shay. I saw him at four am in Minnesota when we were all on a six am flight, walk down there and go here's my key, And I was like this guy. Now cut and what we're doing with the turning at the key reactivating them? Is there anything more annoying though? And this is this is again I'm gonna preface this by saying, yes, of course there's more annoying things in the world. These are first world problems.
But you get all the way up to your room and that god damn it, trekking back down with the suitcases. I'm just leaving the suitcase by the door, and then you get me the whole see something, say something? Uh, security on floor seventeen. We got a bag that's unattended. Now the back found in attended. Gal. Yeah, I'm the teller. I'm the caller. I'm excuse me, And I'm the one
that's leaving the bags around. I'm leaving bags. She's calling. Hey, speaking of calling, there was no phone in this hotel room. That's very bizarre. Anyways, I digress. So what else? Oh yeah, so many different things I had written down here too. I'm unreal. I got a real rant going on here downstairs. You at text me because you and I haven't caught up, which is again rare for us not to download on all the happenings in our life for the last seventy
two hours. But I was downstairs trying to grab something to eat. There's no one in the restaurant. No one. Okay, go up to the host stand. I was like, Hey, I'd like to get a table for two. Do you have a reservation. I'm looking at Wally's. I don't have a run. Yeah, exactly. They want to be Instagram model the fucking front desk, acting like she's big time relaxed sweetheart. Okay, I'll give you a follow, give me a fucking table. So there's no one in the restaurant. Okay, yeah, I'll
give you a follow. And that's not what you look like. Okay, you've got a real catfish thing going on because I just went on your page and bitch those filters. I love a filter, but you are you need You're unfiltered. I'm unfiltered on this podcast. So I'm looking is great. There's no one. Did Charcoony and your little dog to um? No one's in the restaurant. There's must be no joke.
Twenty five tables open and she does this. It's like the scene and Meet the Parents, you know, where the woman's at the airline desk like trying to get the ticket drawl if you want to. She's clicking on all these keys, punching in on the laptop, and she goes, only have something available at the bar at the high Top And I go, okay, well there's a lot of seeds open. She goes all reserved. I'm thinking to myself,
Biden's in town. This better be the entire motor gate that's coming in here to sit at this restaurant, because you're gonna tell me in the twenty minutes that I have, I can't sit at one of these tables. So now that's the problem is because Biden's in town. So I'm sitting there and I'm like, twenty minutes to love you, Well, I got twenty minutes to eat and get out of here. And if there's if these tables are not filled up by the time out of here, I'm going back to
that host of stand. As a former hostess and again Olmity's Restaurant in Danta Point, Mexican restaurant. I know it's hard to be a hostess, which it ain't hard to sit me there for twenty minutes. Okay, what happens? I leave after twenty minutes, not one person sat in those goddamn seats. Did you say something? You know? Because I didn't see something say something. I'm going to go back down there, and I'm telling you, if that restaurant isn't
filled up, I got a problem. But it's it was such a like Larry moment where I'm like looking around and I'm like, what, there's no one here and like chastising me for not having a reservation at eleven thirty at a random restaurant in New York. Anyways, that's where I'm at. I also hate when they're saying like, well, yeah, so these seats are they're reserved, when are they coming? Not till' but we need you to get out of
here in thirty. Like it's just like don't I'm gonna order a lot, okay, And then I quickly that one mimosa was gonna be seven by the time I was down there. But I was like, that's your loss. I'm not giving you my money. Yeah. I just always appreciated that. Okay, so, um, you have a little not I don't want to say down to know. I have no time. I have no time. It's already almost eleven o'clock on a Tuesday. I have no time. I have to pack for a week. I
don't know what this week is entailing. Yesterday, You'll love this. I'm making dinner reservations for Arizona. I don't know who's going. Are you coming or Matthew? Where are the staffords? By the way, they really if I'm getting I don't need I texted it that was like enough with your damn. I was like, enough with your friends? Friends? Are these people that we don't know about? Right any who? Um? So I don't know. And then I start doing the to do list, like when I panic, like I'm going
away for Europe. I'm just going to Arizona. I'm sure there's a drug store, things to buy, things to buy, face wash, got it? Today, I'm gonna send a candle to my room because I'm there for a week. A slim ear plugs. I need self tanner for my legs. Never know. I need new workout gear because if I'm gonna work out every day, I need at least seven different outfits because who has time to wash these? I need more bras because like you know, you stick for
the two or three. Well, that's not going to be good enough in areas there's so many things I have to do. No I need you. I just see new ones. I just see new bras. I need more and new bras. I'm discussing with the bras. I'm wearing bras from like because from I don't have any boom, so it really doesn't matter. But I'm I buy an excessive amount of ship just because I'm like Luttinus in some areas. But I'm wearing bras from from high school. I'm like, what
am I doing here? Like? And I love like a pretty broad the um I always say her name wrong, and THEA being it's not Annie being, and the bing she's got beautiful lace bras, Like I'll spend a couple of hundred dollars, I'll go to La Parla. I'll buy the cute little things I end up throwing on that same damn Victoria's secret bra. Part of the is coming out, so it's not smooth in your shirt. And I could put my whole hand in here, and we're doing things. We got a whole activity going on in the right
cup because there's room because it's not fitted. Because I need to actually go and have them use that little band to tell me. I think I think I'm a thirty six CE. No, bitch, you're an A. You're a thirty four A on a good day, and I am to do. I gotta get a new eyebrow pencil, because I mean using the same one over and over I got, I got a lot, and I don't like it. And where you belong, still Williams, where you belong? I mean,
there's two kid. I'm just so impressed by the way so these Aaron and I have a lot in common, but of a lot of dissension in some areas. This is one of them. Her packing is incredible. In my next anxiety today, Aaron, I will come back as Aaron and her packing and her sending ship ahead of time. You're lucky if I even get on a plane to the half these places where super Bowl. I mean, my god, I was even thinking about caught it calling an audible
because I'm not ready to leave New York. You know, I really got robbed in my time here in New York? You did. I love whenever I'm here, I'm like, I want to move back, and then I'm like, cool, my kidding, I don't. I don't want to move back, but I love this city and I'm supposed to be in Vegas tomorrow, and I'm like, I already looked up, like, what's the earliest flat on tomorrow. I'm like, Christa, don't do it. Be responsible, get your ass on the lane. But isn't
it breezing there right now? Is I just saw some snow flakes falling. You may not be leaving man? Uh? Anyhow well, I think we're all at a time and I'm just getting started. I gotta go downstairs and see if there's any tables available people on the next podcast, though, I got to talk to you about the teeth cleaning for Willis anyone ever seen these uh these vans are real sketchy, the vans that pick up the dogs in the teeth, the teeth thing.
