Episode 3 : Wool and the gang, with Déborah Sitbon-Neuberg (English version)
Episode description
After experiencing both ends of the fashion spectrum – first at Hermès, within the accessories department, and then at Undiz, overseeing the production of underwear in Chinese factories –, Paris-born Déborah Sitbon-Neuberg decided in 2013 to launch a menswear brand built on a close-knit relationship with local ateliers.
Now that you’ve started eating local, you would also like to know the exact origin of the clothes that you’re wearing? De Bonne Facture has got you covered. More interested in who makes her clothes than in where they’re being made (according to her, something presented as “French-made” hasn’t necessarily been produced in great working conditions), Sitbon-Neuberg, who refuses to claim the word “sustainable”, has made it her mission to be as transparent as possible when it comes to her production process. And for that reason, De Bonne Facture precisely details on its website and on its tags, the origin of the natural fabrics that were used, and in which garment-making ateliers in France, in Italy or in Portugal (always selected for their specific skill sets) they have been transformed into clothing.
