So that was a lot of fun. And then obviously COVID happened. I didn't know what to do. I was like, all right, my career is probably over. So I went home, started taking online classes. I was living my sister, living on her like couch, slash bed whatever, and yeah, pretty.

Much that gaming, gaming late at night, fucking oh yeah.

And then uh and then you know, Thanksgiving happens. Whatever I get I'm studying for my finals in bed and I get a call from my agent. He's like, you ready to play ball? I was like, where am I going? He's like, going to d C. I was like, shit, okay, So I.

Go up there.

And the only reason they called me up was because do you remember when Denver all their quarterbacks got COVID.

Only reason they brought me up was because, hey, we're we're in the playoff hunt here if all of our quarterbacks go down, we need someone that knows the offense already.

So I came up.

I was like standing twenty yards behind everyone at practice, was sitting in the back of the meeting room, like pretty much not even there.

You weren't, like, I think it is some of the tins is something like that too. You weren't like allowed to be around the players, right, yeah, like you would come in? Would you come in every single day or just a couple days a week.

But quarterbacks met in the team room and they're all up in the front two rows. I'm in the very back, so I can barely even hear what the fuck they're saying up there. You know, dayne How gets hurt and he gets in a little bit of trouble off the field, and then Alex Smith gets hurt, and next thing you know, it's the playoff week against Brady, and Rivera tells me the day before the game, hey, you're starting tomorrow.

The day before the game, were you thinking was going to be the start of that work?

Alex was really it was pushing his, uh, his his rehab hard to try to get back, but he just couldn't go. I was just feeling in for it was just it's more more of the same with his you know, he was just dealing with it.

Then I just come out here and I remember in the tunnel it run nowt I'm like, you know what, fuck it, man, I was just at home a month and a half ago taking classes that I was done with football and and here we are, so just leave it out in the field and turned out to be a pretty good yeah again on.

Well, the good you know, the good thing is Scott turners to oc there and he's the one that brought me to Minnesota when I came out, so you know, I was in Carolina with him, so already knew the offense pretty well, but he kept it pretty basic for me and we had a pretty damn good game here. There's a lot of incentive based so it's like if you play sixty percent of snaps and you win, you get a big bonus.

If you dress a game, you get a big bonus.

So I wasn't anticipating I'm playing all that last year because we brought Fits in and then Fits got hurt maybe fifteen plays in the first game, in like the second quarter, and never came back. So now it's like I had sixteen games to kind of rack up those incentives.

How did you do you think of the body of work that you had last year for it being your first full year as like a starter pretty much like first full year in the league in general, because you came in so late the year before.

But how do you reapproach it? It's I don't know if the approach is different. I think, uh, I think I know what it takes now to be successful. And you know, obviously, previous years I was never starter. I was never really getting that uh put that piece, all right?
