The Boys. Welcome to another episode of Bust with the Boys. I am your host Will Compton, co host Tayl Lawan. You already know the deal. My man's in training camp, the off days, the games of scheduling as sometimes things just don't line up. My man he obviously eats Sleepspreez football right now, so when he has an off day, unfortunately, his family's a priority over the bus. But welcome to

Speaker 1

We're gonna have a great time, but help us hack this algorithm and run these numbers up. But before we get into the episode, this episode is brought to you by our most prestigious partner of all time, and that is the Chevy Silverado. We know that every team starts the season undefeated for the first month. Everyone has a shot. We're like the freaking I don't even know. I don't even know where I was trying to go with that, But one team has already won it all. That team

is the Chevy and it star players the Silverado. According to JD Power, Chevy is the most awarded brand for new vehicle quality and Chevy Trucks has won more new Vehicle Quality awards than any other brand.

Speaker 2

That's some serious hardware.

Speaker 3

Did you know that? JP?

Speaker 1

Jack Bloss Did you guys know that? You might have known that from the ad last week, But that's new. That's that's news every week that Chevy is the number one car dealership in the world. I think that's the world. But champions don't stop. They keep moving forward. And that's what the Silverado is all about, moving forward from the LT model to the most extreme Silverado ever. This ZR two Chevy game the Silverada a new interior with larger

infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. They gave it towing technology and up to fourteen available camera views.

Speaker 2

That's some high quality shit.

Speaker 1

It's always truck season here over at Busting, but now it's also tailgate season. And what better way to roll up to a tailgate than in a Chevy Silverado boasting a larger, more functional bed than any other competitor. And in that bed should be the new cornold tables that we are selling in also the you know the table where you place cups ten cups on each side and you throw ping pong balls in them. Head over to Chevy dot com and learn more about the Chevy Silverado.

The Boys we prefer Freeland Chevy. You guys hear it every week. If you live in the greater Nashville area, hit up the boys over at Freeland Chevy. Now weekend update, it's a fun we can you guys, Do you guys enjoy your weekend?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Can we get a little bit more? The energy's a little like low right now.

Speaker 1

Like I just told everybody to comment pro vibes or I'm here for the vibes, like we need to have some vibes.

Speaker 3

Yeah, Monday caught us real quick. Are you tired?

Speaker 4

I don't know if it's tired or it's a tough feeling to describe.

Speaker 1

Your boys did go out on Saturday night? Oh yeah, because the group chat was lit up. Group chat was lit up. Jack, you already knew what vibe he was on. Yeah, you could feel the energy in the group chat. You too, you're traveling, You're like, oh, I'm over in this area of Nashville.

Speaker 2

I'm ready to go travel to you guys. I don't know if that happened.

Speaker 3

It happened.

Speaker 4

And then Taylor iris Shaggs did after we said what's up to each other, he was like, hey, may go get a drink. Yeah, I could kind of sense what was about to happen.

Speaker 1

So if the game got over with for everybody listening, the game got over with the Titans one and you know, the vibes are obviously elite at all times with the boys, So Taylor was seeing like where everybody was at afterwards, just to go say what's up apparently, and then Jack was over at ACME, JP was over.

Speaker 2

Was it were you on Demumbrian.

Speaker 1

Yeah, JP was over in the Dumumbrian area and Taylor pulls up.

Speaker 3

I didn't know.

Speaker 1

I'm sitting at home, I forget what I'm watching and just thinking like, oh, these.

Speaker 2

Boys are about to like have a long night.

Speaker 3

Oh not really didn't go that way, No, it was. It wasn't a long night. Oh it was.

Speaker 5

Yeah.

Speaker 6

Did it end up at uh because Taylor had some friends over at Actne. We were getting some food after the game, and Uh, Taylor's like, yeah, I'm gonna pull up, and I was like, yeah, he's not coming.

Speaker 5

He just played, but he showed up.

Speaker 2

I didn't think he was going either. I'm like, do you really want to go out?

Speaker 1

Like I really want to go downtown after a Titans game, like big doll?

Speaker 3

You know, Taylor.

Speaker 5

I know That's why I was a little shocked he was there. But I mean he came, he was a good sport. We got like a drink and then basically that was the end of the night. And then yeah just kind of went it out.

Speaker 2

You showed up, you made your way across and then he dipped.

Speaker 3

Yeah, but uh is to his.

Speaker 4

Credit, he came down and he got me. I was able to skip the line. I got the Taylor lawn treatment, which huge shout out to him for that.

Speaker 2

Is that a ship.

Speaker 3

That's just the problem is.

Speaker 1

That your shoutout, no free shoutout likes getting to skip the lion that's in decent.

Speaker 3

We're gonna have to cut this gidding just added to the list.

Speaker 2

You know, a line.

Speaker 3

But yeah no, so shout out of tailor firm looking it up.

Speaker 1

Yeah, the boys they got uh did they win the first preseason game?

Speaker 2

We lost?

Speaker 1

Oh, that's right, because we were trying to hand him the first preseason loss ever. Because that matters. Yeah, they won like twenty two straight. I love seeing everybody just argue on the on the internet about it too, Like it's obviously they got a long streak going. You're going to shout out the streak and then everybody's oh, oh if preseason fucking mattered. It's like, hey, I think the I think Adam Schefter is just trying to deliver, like

just some news for the boys, some positive vibes. Everyone just gets all up in arms about it. I thought we would dethrone them. We didn't, but the boys.

Speaker 3

Got a dub. They look good.

Speaker 2

Taylor, he got to he got to splash a little bit. He was out there for like six plays.

Speaker 1

I had a nice little chuckle because you know, starters, like when the majority of starters aren't playing in a preseason game, you obviously don't want to play in the preseason game either. And when the coach tells you that you're going like, there's just a part of you that's like, fuck, man, Like, God, do I really got to go out there for however many plays I gotta do it. You're like hoping it's not a full quarter. You know, you don't know how

long it is. You don't want to ask because you don't want to seem like a bitch, and you.

Speaker 3

Kind of just let it ride.

Speaker 1

And then right like right before basically like when you're in the locker room, you just essentially got to brainwash yourself. And they's just thinking, fuck it, dude, let's go out here and try to let's go out here and try to claim a soul, claim a body before I go out and Uh, the boy played solid. He had you know, of course six plays he's playing against I don't know.

I don't even think he was playing against like the starters or whatever, but the boys moving the line, of screen in the run game Clean Pocket.

Speaker 2

In the past game, he.

Speaker 1

Went out for a play because it looks like his little finger that he's messed with was like out of place or dislocated or whatever. But you know, Taylor Dog goes back in preseason game preseason game at that like, dude, just say some guys, you get a little you want something like that to happen. You're like, all right, here's my fucking out two plays in finger out, Let's get the fuck out of here.

Speaker 2

But the boys a dog. He goes back in.

Speaker 1

He tries to like as he's trying to go out that one play he goes back in. Then he see old boy block. He's trying to like block with one arm. I feel supremely confident talking about this too, because I haven't even really seen Taylor, like I've just we've been

in our group chat and stuff. So it's like one of those things to where I'm sitting here as I'm talking about him playing in his performance and everything like that, I'm thinking like, oh shit, or is somebody gonna listen to this and be like, hey, Will shouldn't talk about X, Y and Z. But it's kind of like fuck it, man, like, yeah, yea, we do. We went on this bus man. The boy's not here. It's all clean, it's all good fun. But the boy's got a w everybody's excited about the Malik

Willas stuff. Yeah, you know, I haven't watched enough tape. Like after the first quarter happened, I was like, all right, what am I doing now?

Speaker 3

Jack?

Speaker 1

Jack was there like that was like that was you were in game day for him?

Speaker 6

Yeah, I guess Radar boy buck Rising.

Speaker 2

It was fun.

Speaker 5

It's just gonna be back.

Speaker 3

In the sun weather. It was great.

Speaker 6

Me and Gary both were there, so just getting a couple of beers watching some ball. Obviously, I feel like he's saying the first quarter kind of tails off a bit.

Speaker 5

It was insane. I lost my voice.

Speaker 6

In like one yell out of nowhere in the first quarter, and Garret's like, what the fuck happened?

Speaker 5

Like I I was.

Speaker 2

Talking like this now you're still kind of coming.

Speaker 3

Back from no.

Speaker 6

But then I went and got a water, took a swig, and ten minutes later my voice was completely back. And I don't know, my voice just seems a little raspy. I'm with JP. I'm kind of in this weird like I don't know if I'm tired or if it's like there's some in the I feel like today.

Speaker 1

But we got to pick the vibes up, like we're pushing Yeah, we're pushing through when people come to the pod because they like to experience some high vibes and positivity. Obviously with that they love to see the lows that we go through to get back to the positive vibes.

Speaker 2

Because people could.

Speaker 1

Be listening right now like I'm kind of dragging ass. It's Tuesday, it's fucking and then they hear you going through, and they're gonna hear this climb back up from you and JP, and they're gonna feel like, all right, if they can do it, I can.

Speaker 2

Fucking do it. The boys are inspiring, they're motivating me right now.

Speaker 1

The reason I said I felt like you were in game day form is because your game day form you can identify very early in the day, and I felt like the same kind of vibes I took rue. We had a little a little daddy daughter day at L and L Market where we went and got a lot t I was like, man, the boys played tonight, like you can kind of feel it. You kind of feel it in the air, like we're a couple of weeks out. Now, I go on social media. I see I woke up like it was time to tighten the fuck up. That's

obviously on the busting page. But then I see you post your like, your like playoff video from a couple of years ago where you're like fucking doing your high kid, You're a mirror of Duel high kicks, And I feel like if you're pulling that out, like you're operating at a level to where it's like, Okay, I could be doing a little much right now, but I'm just so excited about ball being here.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6

And then a lot of people think that I made that video that day. And then I had two people reach out and go, did you get a haircut today?

Speaker 5

And I was like do that video is from twenty nineteen, But.

Speaker 1

It's fine, that's fine. That's good though. Yeah, that's what you know. It's like reservicing and people are like taking notice.

Speaker 5

Yeah, I had to put it back out there.

Speaker 6

Even seeing the video go check it out, won't plug my Instagram.

Speaker 1

But do now question on that, do you make a weekly maybe video where you're fired up about the game.

Speaker 6

Yeah, I mean we can, we can, we can look into it. That one that was like the perfect storm. I remember I was in Boston. It was right before the Titans Patriots playoff came in twenty nineteen where we beat Brady and them.

Speaker 5

Uh, and I don't know.

Speaker 6

It was just like I got in my hotel room, I like two hours for the game, and things just started happening. If the phone came out, some high kicks started happening. Yeah, so maybe maybe, uh, stay vigilant, might see some videos come out here a couple of weeks when the season gets going. But I'm gonna hold off on any kind of content until the actual regular seasons. Here first first home game in the preseason was here.

Speaker 5

Now I'm kind of over it. Waiting for the regular season.

Speaker 1

Now, I'm kind of over it. I feel you though, It's like you want it to You wanted to get here. Like enough, there's enough teason that's been going on.

Speaker 2

We're all fire. Everybody's fired up about it.

Speaker 1

And for all the Packers fans tuning in to listen to the Matt laflur Rich Pasaccia podcast, like just bear with us. I know you're probably sitting there like, what the fuck are these guys talking about like they're talking about, you know, doing these videos for Titan games.

Speaker 2

Who's Jack? Who's Jack in the back?

Speaker 5

Oh?

Speaker 1

Hey, no disrespect? You know there you got we got new people. Come in here now. But bear with us. You can usually fast forward like twenty to thirty minutes and you'll be at the will be at the interview if you need to go see you by that bad. But if you're trying to catch some vibes right now and hang with the boys, like this is our intro, this is what we do. We hit some house cleaning, we hit our favorite segment, shout out, no free shoutouts

with the whole house cleaning deal. Did you guys watch House a Dragon? Oh yeah, what'd you think?

Speaker 5

I mean, as any like Game of Thrones fan, it was hard not to love it. I mean, it's back you hear that? Dun dun? Yeah, well, I.

Speaker 6

Know, I know you're a massive Game of Thrones fan, but I think it will It was a consensus.

Speaker 5

With the whole general public in the way Game of Thrones ended was not the way most people had hoped it.

Speaker 3

What have I'm with you?

Speaker 1

I was trying to give you, like if some background music, like no I were like voicing over that segment.

Speaker 6

But I think they did a phenomenal job being bag back. It's gonna be a fun, uh fun season to watch.

Speaker 5

Especially.

Speaker 6

I think it's like really fun when there's scheduled programming on because we're so used to like streaming and having every episode at the like right there at the click of a button. So when we have to watch, i mean wait one week at a time for an episode,

I think that makes it really special. And it's like the anticipation the building there's gonna be an episode probably in the next two or three weeks where they drop us with like a cliffhanger and we're like a fuck, but I got away next week or a whole week to get there and watch what happens. But this is you off a little bit, for sure, But it also it makes it that much better.

Speaker 5

So yeah, I thought they did a really good job. I'm excited to follow those storylines.

Speaker 6

It seems like there's some deception already in the midst some some brother House of Targarian.

Speaker 1

Yes, the House of Targarian, like you know, it fucking goes down. I hope eventually, like you know, you hope that there's gonna be enough seasons where you get eventually to the story of the Mad King and everything like that, to where Denarius is born or something. Then obviously floats into the Game of Thrones. But I'm fired up man.

I thought it was a great first episode. Struggled a little bit with the way that you know, the whole fucking you know, they killed they killed the uh, they killed the mom about to give birth spoiler alert.

Speaker 5

Also, well, you.

Speaker 1

Know, at the end of the day, like, if you're fucking in this game for real, then you need to be up to date and watching it when it happens for future notice, just future reference. We might talk about House of the Dragon House of the Dragon every week, So if you don't want spoilers, maybe skip these parts. However, if you're truly about that fucking life, which you should be, JP's not. He's never seen Game of Thrones, and we can get to that in a second because teasing piece

of the boy. I truly do feel bad for people who haven't watched it, because it is an incredible show. I thought that part was tough man, making that a little tough decision right there. I thought it was pretty fucking hardcore for a first episode, especially for.

Speaker 5

You know, a recently new father.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yea, I was inting a little bit differently.

Speaker 6

But yeah, I mean they that's all. I like, we forget Game of Thrones that it was. It's brutal, it's bloody. They don't hold back like it's savage. So I think they didn't skip a bee, just getting right back into it where you're gonna see some guys heads fly off, You're gonna see some blood, some death. It's yeah, it's not for the fan of heart, that's for sure.

Speaker 1

Yeah, And also like going off the whole weekly thing. I there's a part of me that enjoys it because it's like a love hate relationship. You wish you could

binge it. However, I agree with you because to me, especially now in this day and age or social media and everything else, it brings the community together, which is why I feel like you can argue Game of Thrones being like this community being the best community to be in, like of all time, because everybody throws in the breaking bads, the what else breaking bad?

Speaker 3

What else?

Speaker 2

Did I say? What else? Have I claimed to be?

Speaker 3

Like? Oh?

Speaker 2

Breaking sopranos, y sopranos, sponge.

Speaker 1

Yeah, stranger, stranger things, but like just knowing that everybody's taking a moment. The entire world essentially comes together to watch Game of Thrones once a week and live on the internet about it. I think that's like an element that is arguable when talking about the best series of all time. But I'm fired up about it again. The Targarian bloodline is deep. It runs deep. They're fucking each other type of deal to keep the blood line going.

But no, I think it's awesome to pivot away from the House of the Dragon.

Speaker 2

Go check it out. No free shout outs, HBO pass.

Speaker 1

We have new merch dropping Thursday, right, Garrets. That's correct, isn't it?

Speaker 5

Thursday?

Speaker 1

Yes, Thursday probably what nine am?

Speaker 3

Thursday nine am.

Speaker 1

You guys will probably be listening on audio to the Thursday intro as well.

Speaker 3

But new merch coming out.

Speaker 1

You guys can see it on this in Taylor's seat right now if you're just listening. They're the fire and we're bringing back the Electricity shirts. We had enough people popularity with them a couple years ago when we made them for the Boys of Tennessee.

Speaker 2

Now we got them right now. I'm holding the Boys of Michigan.

Speaker 1

We got this one, which is fucking badass, probably the most badass one, the Raiders one. Uh White Lightning. We got Titans gear. We got Titans and white Tea's, Black Tea's. We got the oilers colors. We got Nebraska ones coming, we got Green Bay ones.

Speaker 2

We're making. We're doing a lot of different stuff.

Speaker 1

But that new merch and the new hats, the one that you see that I'm wearing right now, the one that I'm holding in my hand, that's red, and then Taylor has the oily oiler colors ones. We are also in the in production of making other colors for other teams. So if you want your team, make sure to be loud, to be proud on social media so it catches our attention. But that new new merch drops on Thursday at nine am in the morning Central time. They're gonna probably sell out.

I'm gonna be honest. The whole Boys merch last year did incredible numbers, So get shop early, shop fast, shop often.

Speaker 2

Garrett, I miss anything.

Speaker 7

You didn't hold up the Tennessee Titans one very well, so let me a little disrespect for the local fans.

Speaker 2

I think he took that a little personal. Absolutely, I did.

Speaker 1

Here's the uh, here's the Tennessee one, here's the tight it's fire boys.

Speaker 2

I think the electricity.

Speaker 1

I love that we're bringing it back and we're making them for everybody else. Shall we get to it? Our favorite segment of the week. Shout out? No free shoutouts? Do we all have them?

Speaker 3

Are we ready to go?

Speaker 1

We interrupt this episode to bring you Duke Cannon. No free shoutouts to Duke Cannon. Duke Cannon. Deodur is made for guys who run hot. But I will I do wanna. I do want to intercept this ad because last week the boy ran out of deodorant. Duke Cannon has just stocked us with product and everything else. So I'm like sitting over there looking at all the different products. I'm like, oh, I'm gonna grab this. I'm gonna grab that. There's one thing that I've grabbed that might be my favorite. Now

it's definitely it might be my favorite scent. My wife loves it. Anytime we're anytime, you know, we have a nice little submish. She just raves about this smell from the face wash, bro the face wash, the coal mining face wash.

Speaker 3

Where it's like I don't know what.

Speaker 1

I don't know what the sin is or the ingredients in it, but the coal mining face wash, dude, it smells incredible.

Speaker 2

I came and got the deodor, and I came and got like.

Speaker 1

The travel bag, like we're over here shopping in our warehouse with the Duke Cannon product. But I grabbed the face wash because I'm like, all right, I need a face walk. I always do the thing where I take the face wash into the shower and then I leave it in there, and then at nighttime I need to go into the shower and grab it.

Speaker 2

So I need one in both spots.

Speaker 1

But the coal mining, the coal miners face wash, dude, that is that's my hitter right now.

Speaker 3

That's the vibe I'm on. You can go to uh you.

Speaker 1

Can check out Duke Cannon at any target or go to Duke Cannon dot com and use code busting and we got you for a hook up a fifteen percent off. That is Duke Cannon dot Com using code busting. Back to the episode, boss Baby, we haven't seen you in a while. Kick this thing off, brother.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it's been a while.

Speaker 8

I know, Like he's like, this is game and I love it.

Speaker 9

Uh My shout out. This week, I went to my first Nashville SC game. I was I was completely surprising. I'll get to my shout out, but I want to shout out Larry and j Pollard for hooking me up with their season tickets. It was really nice of them, so I appreciate that, but I didn't My expectations for the game were pretty low. I'm not the biggest soccer fan. Like it's probably one of the one of the games

I watched the least. But going to that Nashville s C game, like, it was probably better than any any football stadium I've ever been in. And I know that's a hot take, and I know people are probably gonna be upset about that, but like, that stadium did not stop rocking the entire time. On top of that, they went up four zero and just completely dominated.

Speaker 1

So you're saying the Nashville SC game, Oh, the atmosphere was more than any football game.

Speaker 9

Any football I've ever game I've ever been to, right here in Nashville, Right here in Nashville. I was locked in the entire game because of that crowd.

Speaker 2

It was unreal, damn.

Speaker 9

And my shout out is to those those events that far exceed your expectations.

Speaker 2

MM, that's my shadow. That was good.

Speaker 3

That was a good one. That was a good one.

Speaker 2

Brother.

Speaker 1

I'll have to check that out because that's you said that. I was like, okay, let's let's pump the brakes. But everybody's back there, not in their heads.

Speaker 3

It's crazy. I was shocked.

Speaker 1

So you were in the shot, he went, Garrett Jack, who's holding the mic?

Speaker 2

Who we got next?

Speaker 3

I'll go real.

Speaker 7

Quick, my shout out, no free shout out. I was going to go to a money hooker for rocking the boys merch on game little throwback piece, but I was when I saw that, I was like.

Speaker 3

Okay, let's go.

Speaker 1

I know, like when the boys are bought in, there's just like a different energy, Like when you see the athletes rock and the merchandise and Taylor.

Speaker 7

Wore his IT Wars Michigan gear. Appreciate him wearing the new unreleased stuff. But when I saw many, I.

Speaker 1

Was like, yeah, yeah, it's like Taylor, like this is your business as well, so you should be rocking the merch Well, when you see the athletes bought in for the photo ops like that gets you going bro yep, that's my shut up Jack, light it up.

Speaker 2

I know you've been waiting on this thing.

Speaker 6

Uh, my mind's pretty simple this week. But it's something that I never take for granted, and it is shout out no for shadowt to like long hot showers.

Speaker 5

Yesterday I was seeing a little tough after the game.

Speaker 6

But dude, I will sit in a shower if I don't have to worry about it, like the water getting cold or just paying for water in general. Like if I'm at a hotel, I'll sit in that bitch for like an hour and it's just so nice. It kind of like falls in long with like my steam room take the other other week.

Speaker 5

But like sitting a long hot shower is just.

Speaker 6

Like it's like the full reset kind of just like disappear from the world for a minute and now have to think you just like letting the water hit you. And I just anytime I have the opportunity to take a nice line hot shower, you know, yeah, shout out water and shout out easy accessible water. So we're very fortunate that we have these these incredible facilities that is, you know, my bathroom.

Speaker 5

So shout out to hot showers.

Speaker 1

All right, man, Hell yeah, JP, let's go brother all right, my shout out, no free shout out.

Speaker 4

I can't decide if this is going to go to the driver or the animal.

Speaker 3

But it's when you're driving. You like, how this is starting.

Speaker 4

Yeah, it's when you're driving and a squirrel or something runs out at the last minute in front of your car and you make a move and then you're like, did I hit it? Look back and you can see it still alive. You're like, oh, thank god, Like I still got it. I'm sharp on the wheel. But at the same time, it could also go to the shoutout, could go to the squirrel like being elusive.

Speaker 1

No brother, word that I am not gonna say. But them boys are pure idiots when they run in the road. Those animals fucking run in the middle of the road and will stop and they you know, they might be in a panic, but it's like, yo, just fucking there's vehicles coming everywhere.

Speaker 2

You gotta time that road. You got to time up that cross, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1

Like you you could be a shout out to the animal, Like not at all, bro, It couldn't be dumber. When they get in the road, They get in the road and just freeze and will turn in like look like, oh, this is coming about to end my life, and you basically just maneuver like you might hit another car, an.

Speaker 2

Animal runs down, I go, this fucking idiot.

Speaker 4

Just fuck so shout out to the driver. Then shout out to the driver. For sure, shout out to evading animals running across.

Speaker 1

But that's ultimately like you want to shout out the animal because you're you're like, you love animals. I'm from the heart, so shut out them, animals out.

Speaker 3

That's animals.

Speaker 1

My shout out and no for shut out of the week goes to just filled up my gas tank, and there's like that level of.

Speaker 2

Pride of I.

Speaker 1

Wish people could understand my untapped potential when you consistently drop that gas right on the dollar sign you're trying to hit, so you fill it up, and it's like fifty bucks.

Speaker 3

When you hit that fifteen and you see that.

Speaker 1

Five zero dot zero zero, you know, you kind of look around with pride. It's the samest like the microwave, Like you always try and time the microwave. However, the microwave, it's almost like it's almost like this impossible feat that you'll always go after. But something with the technology won't really ever allow it to stop in the middle of the beep. But on a gas tank you get to

see if you go over, you go beyond. So like hitting that thing right at the number you were wanting, and you might look and see if your wife or somebody in the car like saw the same thing. Because there's like a man, I have so much potential that I still have to tap into that I wish the world could see. But my shout out, no free shoutout, goes to you know, yeah, clicking that thing on that

that gasoline on them zeros so fucking stupid. All right, So Packers fans, everything you've been waiting for, is this a moment right now? Coach Lafleur, Coach Maisaccia, I'm so fucking fired up. Not even Packers fans, but Raiders fans probably Tapaway Buccaneers fans.

Speaker 3

They got to experience Coach Pisaci.

Speaker 1

Hear all the stories about this man, and I know he went on a I know part of my take on a snuck him on Grit Week like out from under Us.

Speaker 2

But like this interview with Coach Pisaci.

Speaker 1

When he comes on in the middle of the interview, we can sit down with him, like everything when alec Ingole comes on, Max Crosby, Foster Morrow, Fuck, I corrected that Fostermorrow, right, Fostermorrow. When all the Raiders guys would come on, and we try and describe like what Pasaci is like how like he can be a motherfucker, but there's just something about him that makes you want to run through a wall. You get that vibe from this dude.

Some of his Italian comes out like look, I'm getting caught trying to explain it again.

Speaker 3

Like right when he walked onto the bus, he.

Speaker 4

Like moves the mic out of the way like he's not gonna talk on it. Wheel's like, hey man, you need to like here's the mic. He's basically like waves will off like I'm not talking into your mic, bro. Yeah, and then ten seconds later he's dropping like everybody in the bus is like, dude, if I'm playing football, I want to play for this guy.

Speaker 10

Yeah.

Speaker 1

You just get a really good look into the cookie jar with this dude. You really get to feel what he's about because shout out to him. I really appreciate him for being open and like, you know, cause they don't have to do that stuff and coaches are really buttoned up when they're doing these interviews. But I feel like he really gave us like a look like when you're sitting there and talking with him, like that's the Maasaca.

He got off the bus, we hugged, and he left, and I came back on with the boys, and I'm like, that's exactly even coach with Flourda. I'm not like obviously downplaying the coach floor like we get to know him a lot in this episode two, especially on the front end, but like obviously like I've been on record talking about Pasasia and everything else, and I got to come on the bus plast. I don't even know if you've gotten to listen to the interview yet, but I got to come on the bus and be.

Speaker 2

Like, boys, like that was it?

Speaker 3

Like that was you got.

Speaker 2

You got a taste of what it was to like play for Coach Pisachia.

Speaker 1

But this interview is awesome. You guys are gonna love it again. Please take a moment subscribe to the boys. Maybe if you maybe you drop the comment, maybe some to drop a second comment, or maybe you're tuning in here and just drop a comment.

Speaker 2

Whatever you want to say.

Speaker 1

Shout out the boys like pro vibes like you know whatever, you guys know how it is, but without without further ado, this is the Coach Little Flour Coach Pisachi episode Big hugs, tiny kisses. Yeah, if you guys are listening, there's a slight, little faint buzz right now. Listen, we got the bus toad however many miles from Nashville to Green Bay where you are inside of Lambeau right now, we've inserted ourselves in the Lambeau and uh kind of and all the wiring.

Speaker 2

Like this has been uh we've Jimmy rigged this entire thing.

Speaker 1

So if you hear a little fan thing like, bear with the boys, because we're going through a lot of adversity to get you guys fucking awesome interviews with head coach HCl Hammer cockle Fur and we're gonna have Aaron Rodgers on like we're gonna have a lot of guys, So bear with us, but stuff further ado. I'm fucking fired up that you are finally on the bus.

Speaker 3

I'm glad I get.

Speaker 1

To Yeah, let's go, yes, because we've we've talked about it for a few years now. Number Okay, let's start here. Why haven't we seen Why haven't we seen Willy in uh in the Green and yellow.

Speaker 11

That's a great question because we've talked with a few yous. I would love to see those beautif that beautiful smile.

Speaker 3

In the green and gold.

Speaker 1

Maybe maybe a December phone call playoff, Willie, if you want to raise the level of.

Speaker 3

Like we need to bring juice late in the year. Yeah, I'm sure you bring a lot of juice. I know that.

Speaker 1

If anything, if you ever get in the pinch, just just know that if you call and you're like, hey, would you be able to and I say yes, just know that you can trust me.

Speaker 11

You stay ready so you don't have to get ready. Let's go, let's go. But the last couple of years, so more so the first year where I ended up playing for the Raiders. Remember when I was when I signed with the Saints, that kind of all season we were.

Speaker 2

I was so fired up because you've got Ko in here.

Speaker 1

Ko was my Kirk Alavadatti was my linebacker coach for five years. I've watched it and he was kind of the coach that like took a shot on me, like trusting.

Speaker 2

Me, kind of bet a little bit, like hey, I remember.

Speaker 1

When he first said make me right, He's like, because we're going with this decision, and so knowing that you had Ko here, I was like, man, if there could be a shot to where I could play for both of you guys, Like I was so fired up.

Speaker 2

Obviously it didn't work out, but I thought it was getting close.

Speaker 3

At one point it was. It was definitely talked about.

Speaker 11

I will say this, You're a big reason that Ko is here, really, Yeah, because I remember asking you when we were together in Tennessee, who the best linebacker coach you ever had?

Speaker 1

Yeah, And I believe that, like like Ko, he's he's very good. No matter how he does it, he's very good at getting to the conversational piece that you want to hear from, whether or not it Sometimes he might shy away because Kyo and I would there have been some roller coaster rides with us, like us to right, and in this business, like especially when you're young, you don't fully understand the big like the bigger pictures decisions I kind of have to be made that kind of really piss you off.

Speaker 2

In the moment.

Speaker 1

You're just like, why aren't you fucking telling me this? And he's just like, put it on me.

Speaker 10

It's my fault.

Speaker 1

I'm like, I know, it's not your fucking fault, but I don't know why you won't tell me. And it's You've we've had conversations like that. But he's somebody who's always like he teaches well. And the first thing he says to you, which I've told these guys, I'm like, hey, guys, I love you, but don't ever trust me.

Speaker 2

And he kind of says that from the to like, you know, it is a business at the end of the day.

Speaker 1

But yeah, I couldn't like speak higher of coach Ko just because he was the guy that kind of helped.

Speaker 2

He was one where I got.

Speaker 11

My shot, Oh, no doubt, And you took advantage of that shot, dude. Yeah, it's hard, undrafted. I mean, that's that's a tough road you're on the practice squad. I mean, yeah, did a hell of.

Speaker 1

Defense against you guys, fucking having to cover Jordan Reid every.

Speaker 2

Goddamn day in my life.

Speaker 3

You and uh you and mcfi for the offense.

Speaker 1

But uh no, man, remember And and then I was sitting in the I was about to sign with the Saints and I'm sitting in my hotel room, and I hit up coach for because we had talked on the phone a couple of times, and like I was very I was, I was hopeful, and like I was.

Speaker 2

Wanting to play for Green Bay.

Speaker 1

I was like, man, I would love to get up and play for you and play for KO again. And obviously, like you know, the business is involved and everything like that, but I remember like giving my last swing at it, and I was sitting in the hotel in New Orleans and I was like, Hey, I did my work out and they have a contract in front of me right now. I'm sitting in my hotel room and I haven't signed it. If you can get me to Green Bay right now, I will fucking get on the next play tomorrow and

I'll come to Green Bay. And he's like, bro, You're just like man, I truly I don't know, Like I can try one more time tomorrow, but that's nothing to hang your head on, Like you've got to, like, you've got to take this opportunity because this one is probably not going to be here, not because I'm not a beast.

Speaker 2

You are and we probably would have won the Super Bowl that you're in Green.

Speaker 3

Bay, there's no doubt.

Speaker 4

Yeah, you are the missing piece dog, I'm telling you.

Speaker 1

But off of that thirty nine and ten, you have the best start of any head coach in the history.

Speaker 2

That's that's correct. And then I think I heard that on ESPN.

Speaker 11

You know what, though I hear it a lot. First of all, it is a reflection of everybody that is here. It's our players, our coaches, our personnel department do a great job.

Speaker 3

But ultimately it really doesn't matter. That's true. It really doesn't matter. You're right, you are.

Speaker 1

Right, I think because I was thinking about this, because I was like, I want to ask him this question.

Speaker 3

I know I'm gonna like ultimately you.

Speaker 1

Get people say cliche or they're given the head coach answer, like you're giving the right response saying that because truthfully, like when you're trying to get to that next thing, like it doesn't fucking matter what's happened in the past.

Speaker 2

What matters is the next step in front of us.

Speaker 1

But what I want to know, which I think is good and I think what makes this thing work with us at times is diving into the perspective of like do you ever sit back and like have perspective for yourself and like not in an arrogant way, be like I've done this, but have an appreciation for how far you've kind of come and started off like this, whether or not you can say I've had the arguably the greatest quarterback, We've had the best players, or I got

to come into this situation. Do you ever have a perspective where you can sit back and take from that perspective and then you make it relatable to everybody because people are like, Okay, he is a human and he does appreciate his wins because I get it that you're fucking like it doesn't matter and we got to win a super Bowl and I'm two and three in the playoffs and all of those fucking answers, thanks, thanks.

Speaker 3

For Foreign Sultan, the WM there will well.

Speaker 1

But I say that because I feel like that's something you'll be like, you know, at the end of the day, I'm this, I'm that, because while you're going, you're also preparing for your whatever, if there ever is another gig or your next boss. Like you always got to be this certain fucking person that's got it together. But do you take moments to appreciate and see the body of work that you've put together since you've been here.

Speaker 11

Well, for myself, it's it's never I, it's we And because like I told you earlier, it takes a lot of people to make this show go. And first and foremost, it starts with our players. And we've had obviously, we have a lot of Pro Bowl type players, but not only are they great on the field, they're great in that locker room.

Speaker 3

And I think that's what I guess if there is a moment to say, I that.

Speaker 11

All you can do is lay out a vision and then and it's on everybody else whether they want to choose to follow that vision. And we've had just great people that have come together for the betterment of the team. And I think that is probably what I'm most proud of. And it's not the wins and losses. And certainly we all know why we're here. Everybody in the league is here to hoiste that Lombardi Trophy and to win that.

And you know, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how many games you win in the regular season. Only one team's happy at the end of the year. So until we reach that, we're going to be a little disgruntled, I guess.

Speaker 3

No doubt.

Speaker 1

But like with that, And I see what you mean, because you could come in you come into an organization like this, like the history behind it. Not only that, but like Aaron Rodgers, the squad, the talent, the I mean, the Lombardi Green Bay, all of it. Like you come into this situation and you sit back and you're like, all, yeah, I can do is lay out a vision, and I'm proud that we all found a way to like come together.

Like what were some things that you felt like you had to kind of add to your toolbox or your bag or whatever the word you want to use coming into this situation being an offensive coordinator, being the head coach of this and trying to get people to buy into that, or you even being like what are things that I need to buy into?

Speaker 2

Like what pivots have you had to make becoming a head coach.

Speaker 11

I think you're constantly learning, but I think it all starts by hiring the right people around you. And it's okay if you don't have all the answers, you can lean on each other. You know, we have a lot of open dialogue not only with with our staff, but with a lot of our players as well, And I think that's I mean, I just I'm of the mindset that collectively we can figure out figure it out. Not one person has all the answers. So that's kind of

how we operate. Is that hard to do in a business like this?

Speaker 1

Like usually there's you know, people have titles and you come in and when if you have like an open dialogue style of like, hey, guys, like we you be don't be afraid to fucking speak up because we all want to learn from each other.

Speaker 3

Are there?

Speaker 1

Do you feel like there's like a growing pain in that, especially coming into such like an alpha mentality like masculine environment in business.

Speaker 11

No, I think people aren't necessarily used to that in our business mm hm as much, although I think it's starting to trend a little bit more that way. But yeah, I think it all goes back to getting It's the relationships, right, people getting to know you, You're getting to know them, and then that's where you can have real honest conversation.

Speaker 1

Yeah, getting into the last like getting into the end of last year where you know, you get into the playoffs,

you don't make it to the super Bowl. Obviously, at a place like this, the standard is like is a super Bowl like you guys have been to a couple of NFC championships at the end of this past year, what were a couple of things that you went in whether you close the door with coaches in there, just yourself, you're most trusted people to where you're like, these are the things we need to fucking tighten up, or these are the things we need to fix, because obviously you

get you probably get a sense of being very sick and tired of making it so far, being like the best team in like the regular season, and and and being like, what is it gonna fucking take to just get past this goddamn hurdle.

Speaker 2

Well, a, we're a couple of.

Speaker 1

Things you look at and some changes you might have made or things that you look to.

Speaker 11

Yeah, I think, well you do that every year. You always look at you know what, what what went right? What are the things that you got to fix? And then certainly when you get to the playoffs. I was talking to Sean McVay about this. You know, it's like

it's the closest thing to March madness. I mean, the competitive balance is so close, and it's a play here or play there, And you know, from playing in this league for so long, but certainly we had some We've had some bad mistakes at some really bad time.

Speaker 3

So you look at you know, obviously last.

Speaker 11

Year in the playoffs, just we were pretty much in control of that game, although we weren't playing very well offensively. I mean, our defense was they showed up and they were playing as good as I've ever seen our defense play. And then you have a misqueue at the end of the game with a you know, the block punt that gets returned. You know, it's stings. It's still stings. It's always going to sting, but it's just because you can't those those opportunities are so precious.

Speaker 3

You've got to take advantage of them when you're in the moment.

Speaker 11

So you always you always try to reflect and take as much emotion out of it at the end of the season, which is hard to do. And I wish the league would just like shut down for a couple of weeks to let everybody kind of decompress, but that's not the world we live in. So you've got to make quick decisions, and you've got to try to make them with without being emotional, And like I said, it's so hard to do. But you know, the opportunity to

get a guy like rich Pasacia in here. Yes, it presented itself, and you know, it's one of the toughest part I think about being a head coach is saying goodbye to other people, letting guys go, and that's something that I'll never get used to, but it is part of the job, and you always have to have the interest of there's so many people associated with our organization, not only just our coaches and players, but personnel and just everybody that works here, and so you always gotta

you have the responsibility of looking out for everybody within the organization.

Speaker 2

We're gonna set aside from the episode and we bring you guys.

Speaker 3

Revitalight.

Speaker 1

Revitalite is an advanced rehydration solution designed to replenish vital fluids and minerals. It's powered by the same electrolyte formula found in the Baby aisle. Both an improved taste and texture more appealing to adults, Revitalit is conveniently sold next to beer, wine and liquors, so you can shop like the big boys and hydrate responsibly. Barstool black label, They're very Frost flavor is the hitter. The pro tip is to drink half at night and the other half in the morning after.

Speaker 2

For optimal results.

Speaker 1

Pick up your revital like black Label Today in store or online at the Barstool store and tweet at us or tag at drink revitalight in your morning after stories back to the episode, does it get harder? Like this past year doesn't sting more than the year's past? Like obviously they all sting, But it was there a sense of like, god, damn it, dude, I can tell.

Speaker 11

By your grant like sure absolutely, but like there's no like I said, all you can do is reflect and try to learn from it and move on. And it's a new year, and so it's not something unless I'm asked about it that I ever put much thought into it at this stage of the game.

Speaker 2

Yeah, where are you at minutely? Like how's the off season been for you?

Speaker 1

Like being in that box, like you explain, like you wish that you could have like a two week like just fucking try to remove as.

Speaker 2

Much most as possible.

Speaker 1

But obviously the farther way you get from it, the more outside of the box that you get. Like, where are you at now? How do you feel like going into this year? And everything?

Speaker 3

I feel great.

Speaker 10

It was.

Speaker 11

It was a really good offseason, a lot of transition, which you know, creates a lot of unknowns when you lose so so many important people on your coaching staff like a Nathaniel Hackett, Luke Getzi, Justin Out and Mike Smith. Uh, you know, we we lost a lot of really good coaches merged straight and so that creates you know, hiring people's hard, especially because hiring the right people and guys that gonna are going to fit in with with the culture that we have in place, and so that is that is.

Speaker 3

There's a little bit of a learning curve there.

Speaker 11

But we've been able to hire some some great people who were able to promote Adam Stenovich to offensive coordinator and bring in guys that Tom Clements, who uh you know was here previously as Aaron's quarterback coach from his second year all the way to like year fourteen or whatever it was, and then so we got some bringing in Rich has been awesome. So we were able to you know, handle that transition and learn and kind of

grow together. And yet we haven't based any you know, real tests yet in terms of the adversity that comes along with the NFL season. But and then also, you know, replacing some key players. It's it's it's tough when you lose a guy like DeVante Adams, but that is the nature of the beast, right, You've got to continue to evolve and move on.

Speaker 3

And there's no sense in just.

Speaker 11

Sitting here thinking about the what ifs or what should have been or what could have been. It's just all right, here's what we got. How do we make this work and we move forward.

Speaker 1

Do you feel like a lot of the external outside noise when decisions like that, like have to get made, like a DeVante Adams trading him, Like obviously you bring in Aaron's old quarterback coach, and everybody just naturally reason to like the way Aaron's mystique is about what is he doing? Like what's in his head all the time? Is he gonna retire this year? Oh ship, they're bringing in his old quarterback coach. Do you ever feel like are not?

Speaker 10

Do you ever?

Speaker 1

Obviously we all do as human, but like, does that do you ever feel that weight from the outside world on decisions that get made like that, or even not drafting a wide receiver in the first round when everybody's like screaming shit like that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, no, I think you have to block that out. You gotta. We put a lot of time.

Speaker 11

Into this thing, and we like, sure, would we have drafted a guy if the right guy was there in the first round, Absolutely we would have. But you can't. You can't force it. It's gotta be you gotta trust. We have a great process. Brian Gudikunsar GM does does a really good job and his personal department, they do a great job of evaluating, and you know, ultimately you gotta take the best players and you don't wanna, you don't want to force it.

Speaker 3

And when you force it, that's typically when you make mistakes.

Speaker 1

I texted Ko immediately when you guys drafted that linebacker in the fresh round, I said, what the fuck is in?

Speaker 11

I bet you did, he responds.

Speaker 2

Rich liked him at a right guard on punt.

Speaker 3

It's a little longer than you will, I know, right.

Speaker 10

Fuck.

Speaker 1

But I want to get more into like your coaching career because you've had quite the fucking come up.

Speaker 2

We were talking about a little bit on the bus.

Speaker 1

And you're you know, you're very uh you have a very like stoic approach about you know, it's allid you know, playing, meeting the right people, taking advantage of the right opportunity, like relating it all the life, but like looking at your background, like I didn't know you played for the Omaha Beef.

Speaker 2

Number one, You didn't know.

Speaker 1

I was right there you played for the Omaha Beef. Like you played in the Indoor fucking Football League. And then you go into IL the ni FL, Bro, and then.

Speaker 3

You go in like.

Speaker 1

I think about a guy that's playing in the Indoor Football League. And it's not like I'm not being I'm trying my best not to be dist sounding disrespectful, but like you know, like you sit there and you think of a guy in the n i FL, the Indoor Football League who goes into Division two coaching, and then you know through probably a connection there, and then from there you start climbing the ranks of your coaching journey.

Speaker 3

You get a little higher.

Speaker 11

Then you go to Houston, that's where it seemed like you meet coach coach Shanahan. You go to Washington, then.

Speaker 1

You go to Notre Dame for a year, then you get back into it with Atlanta, then you go to LA then the Titans.

Speaker 3

Now you're here a lot of moves, Bro, a lot of moves.

Speaker 11

Although my wife, my wife always tells me, she's like, you don't move, you relocate.

Speaker 3

I move. So that's gotta be tough on the family. Number one is it is tough.

Speaker 11

It is tough, But our kids were young enough where it didn't really Yeah, and they got to, you know, live in a lot of cool different cities and meet a lot of new people. But no, it's that that's life, right, is just being presented with an opportunity.

Speaker 3

So going back, my dad was a college coach at Central went.

Speaker 1

A little bit on your coaching journey because I want to talk about some of the pivotal moments that probably took place as you continue for everybody.

Speaker 11

But my dad was at Central Michigan for a lot of years. He gets fired my senior year of high school. So I was going to walk on there. Ended up yeah, yeah, he got that. Yeah, there's two kinds of coaches, coaches who've been fired and coaches who are going to get fired.

Speaker 3

Typically yes, so, but he was at Central Michigan.

Speaker 11

Anyways, make a long story short, I went to Western Michigan, transferred to Saginaw Valley, played against.

Speaker 3

Bryant oh Oh Ship the man is here.

Speaker 1

We got coach Masace. He's gonna join us and he will listen to this story with us. You thought you never see me again.

Speaker 3

Hey, hey, how you doing one? I'm rich?

Speaker 12

Yeah?

Speaker 3

What's mean?

Speaker 2

Okay, we do, but we got the background.

Speaker 3

We're good. Thanks, we've been waiting for you. Welcome to my meeting. No, no, don't worry about it. I didn't know what I was supposed to wear. I'll take it off. It's hottering fuck.

Speaker 11

Anyways, right there, they've heard a lot about you, Garrett Jack JP.

Speaker 2

We're just in the middle.

Speaker 1

He's reflecting on his come up in the coaching ranks, and he's talking about his dad a little bit right now.

Speaker 11

But I was talking about how he was an indoor football player with the beef. What that probably makes a coach? Besides you, he doesn't.

Speaker 10

Have a plenty of film on will some blocks on Pumper, so out.

Speaker 1

Sure, yeah, you gotta get this thing right. Like, I know you love your coffee, but well now the details.

Speaker 10

Look like you quit lifting.

Speaker 1

Come you know this. I looked in December. We're just talking about how I'm coming back in December.

Speaker 2

Maybe at some point, he.

Speaker 3

Says, he stays ready. So you don't have to get.

Speaker 10

Ready using my ship.

Speaker 3

Oh I love that you faced. You faced last year.

Speaker 2

Hey, can you cover a punt? We were covering punts the next week.

Speaker 3

Go.

Speaker 1

But yeah, so your dad gets fired, you're gonna walk on there.

Speaker 11

Yeah, go to Western Michigan, transfer to the Second Valley. In the meantime, Brian Kelly was the head coach of Grand Valley. He gets that Central job after I graduate, and I go to Central Michigan as a grad assistant, and that's where I'm at. Robert Sala, no ship, So you're connected to fucking Sala. So we were roommates. We got there's a lot of good stories that are probably not appropriate. No no, no, no no no. So yeah, Sall and I

room together for a year, and uh. He went on and went to Georgia, then got an opportunity with the Texans and they had a QC position open a couple of years later, and he was kind of pounding the table for me with with Kyle Shanahan, with with Gary Kubiak. And it's rare that a QC gets another QC a job, because usually it's coordinator. They're not in the position to Yeah, and I had met those guys. A couple of times went down to the Combine. One year went to when

they were when they were playing the Browns. I was coaching at Ashland University. Went up and hung out with them for a night and got to meet those guys so they could at least put a face with a name. And sure enough, I'll never forget. Gary Kubiak calls and he said, you know, we have an opportunity here.

Speaker 3

Do you want to come?

Speaker 11

I said, shoot, coach, I'll I'll get in my car tomorrow, I'll be there. And so I drove down to Houston from Ohio, and you know, I was there for two years and I got to meet some great people. And obviously Gary Kubiak is a guy that I got a ton of respect for. And Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator. And here it is, Kyle's twenty eight years old. I'm twenty eight years old, and I'm thinking to myself, man, this guy can't know that much more than I do.

And I was blown away. I was like, holy shit, it was next level. Oh it was. I was like, man, I don't know anything about football. So it was a two year crash course on just learning football at this level. He's like, I got to tell people, it's like getting your PhD in football, and especially when you're learning from really great coaches and good people. And you know, Kob's Kyle, Mike McDaniel was there as a quality control. Slid was a quality control on the defensive side. So I mean

we had we had a pretty special crew. Yeah, I mean that coaching trees. You guys are head coaches pretty much everywhere right now.

Speaker 1

But I know you're gonna fuck I hate talking about yourself and I'm gonna do my best to try to make you do it.

Speaker 3

When a QC is banging.

Speaker 1

The table for you to get a job and you end up getting the job after you do the meeting and name to a face like what do you think that you I want to say, what do you think that you had? What do you feel like you believed in that? Like that like put you in a spot that you were like you executed at all times? Like what do you think made you different enough to get a job like that? Like what are what's the shit that you got that puts you in a.

Speaker 3

Position like that.

Speaker 11

I just think it goes back to you know, there's no substitute for hard work, and you've got to be willing to put in the work and try to be as detailed as possible. And I just remember there were a lot of sleepless nights I had. We had Alex Gibbs was our offensive line coach, and I'm doing the run drawings, and my whole goal on Tuesday nights was to get done with the run drawings so I could go get maybe an hour or two hours of sleep. And Alex was an early riser. He'd get in there

maybe before four am. And I'll never forget a couple of times I'm like just finishing up the last run and sure shit, I hear the door slamming incomes coach Gibbs, and I knew there was no sleep in that night. You just stay up, you work all night ers.

Speaker 1

And then he sees you there and clearly like that's a feather in the cap of this.

Speaker 11

That's not a feather in the cap. It's like, what the hell's taking you so damn long? So you just you know, but you you do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Speaker 3

Right right right now.

Speaker 1

Going through when you were in Houston, Washington, like you've gotten the opportunity to coach with a lot of great minds, Like what are things that you feel like you've adopted in your own to put in your own game through like learning with McVeigh, Shanahan, Vrabel, all those guys along the way.

Speaker 11

Yeah, there's there's there's something that you learn from every situation.

Speaker 1

What's something that really stands out? So that way, maybe you're not trying to think of too many things, Like no.

Speaker 11

I think first and foremost just being around all these guys is you got to be true to yourself and and don't try to be somebody else because you know, as a player, you see right through that and that's that's not endearing to people. Nobody wants to be around that.

So I think it starts with being that and then you know, being with dan Quinn was was a great lesson for me, and just in terms of how much fun we can have it work and still get everything done that we need to get done, and just in terms of the environment the culture.

Speaker 3

It kind of changed my view of of just coming to work every day.

Speaker 2

I love that. How do you feel about my interviewing skills?

Speaker 10

So far?

Speaker 2

Coast posession we look at it.

Speaker 3

He's already got it done.

Speaker 11

Here.

Speaker 3

You got to get it close to your mouth. Now, get that micro get that close to your mouth.

Speaker 10

That sound good?

Speaker 3

Well, I know it doesn't, but we got to show.

Speaker 2

We got to show to operate.

Speaker 1

How do you feel like your boy's doing you know, not not punt setting, but it.

Speaker 12

Looks like you're doing great. Met your wife. It's the best thing ever happened to here.

Speaker 11

Let's uh, he wouldn't have got his wife he hadn't gotten those teeth fixed.

Speaker 1

She was with me before the teeth She would have said she would have said no, And I gotten the Kay I got you because I met around Washington.

Speaker 3

Well, your teeth looks phenomenal.

Speaker 2

I know dude leaf flir with every day because he's on the offensive side.

Speaker 1

But we'd be sitting there getting our coffee in the morning before meetings and he'd always come up and call me.

Speaker 3

Would you call me smiley?

Speaker 2

I don't, man, your teeth looks fucking amazing. I appreciate it. I spent a lot of money on him, like.

Speaker 10

Me, I got buck teeth my whole life.

Speaker 1

So we got coach Massacia, which is a real which is a real treat.

Speaker 12

I think there's still you still got other stuff. You want to talk to the coach about.

Speaker 3

Yeah, there's only a certain amount.

Speaker 11

And I'm sure he's probably in here, like let's get some more dynamic in because.

Speaker 12

I think he sold himself short on the last stuff that you asked him, and well people to it's hard for people to talk about him. So I've been with him a short time. His zeal for for football and his attention to detail and his ability to see things without someone telling them. And I mean I've been around a lot of teams. You watch us practice, there's the whole team that's behind the offense fifteen yards beyond the ball. How many times guys get yelled at the back up,

back up the entire year. We don't say it one time in practice. At one time the whole team move. They don't move. They're fifteen yards beyond the ball, they don't move. I mean, it's a disciplined schedule, it's a discipline practice. Yet they're having a good time. They're flying around to the football, and I think it's a credit to you know, him and his zeal for football, his respect for players, his drive to win games. I think it's hard to talk about yourself personally, but I think

he sold himself short a little bit. I can tell why he got hired, why he's moved like he's moved. It gets to be obvious if you're around him for.

Speaker 10

A little bit.

Speaker 1

So maybe that's the way we approach this. If I have a question for you, maybe I asked besides you by a question for what are the whole interview? What are the uh what are the things you've learned about coach Pisacia in the short time that you've had him, Because I you know, I don't want to toot my own horn, but we both know, we all know I

love toot my own horn a little bit. So after the year's over, I get a nice FaceTime from coach Lafleur asking about asking about you, and just the way he probably describes that QC pounding on the table to get Lafleur down to Houston. I'm probably pounding, Not probably, I am pounding the table, looking yelling at my phone, telling Lafleur, look, do whatever it fucking takes to get

Bisacia in the in the building in Green Bay. With that said, I just want to put that out there in case you getting the pinch later in the year and you're thinking about somebody with that being said, what have you learned about coach Pisachi because you didn't really know him prior to hiring him.

Speaker 11

On Oh no, but I'll tell you what, when he walks in the room, everybody sits up a little bit straight or a little bit shoot. The best was our first special team Rich comes in. He's talking all calm about you know, not wearing hats and and a you don't have to wear a hat, but if you do, then get the fuck out.

Speaker 3

And I was like, immediately, oh shit, I was like this, Well, I took my.

Speaker 7

Hat off, just slowly kind of put it down.

Speaker 11

Actually, no, I took my My hat was off. I always I got a lot of respect for him. His career kind of speaks for itself. And I'll tell you what, Uh, you know, I didn't even think it was going to happen. I thought the Raiders if they made the right decision, no question. I mean, there was no decision in my mind. So but you know, their loss is our game.

Speaker 2

Yeah, this is juicy little does he not have some of the best.

Speaker 11

Speeches you've ever heard O unbelievable in front of like in front of men who watch all the football movies who've been motivated their entire life.

Speaker 1

But once you get to like a certain age and point in your football or your sport athletic career, it starts to get a little numb, Like, all right, this coach, like you said, you want to play to your strength, like you don't want to be somebody or not. So you can see the coaches who give the bullshit stories or the bullshit cliches like but when he gives a speech, it's it's like I'm back in Friday, watching Friday. I like to remember the Titans back in high school.

Speaker 10

No, it is.

Speaker 11

It's so impressed. It's inspiring, it really is. But here's what I love about Rich. He is obviously he's hard on our guys and he's going to tell him the truth and be honest, but he's just as good as anybody that building them back up as well.

Speaker 2

Yeah, how did you do that?

That shit is awesome, Like what do you think you've learned? Like this is actually a serious question, like because I try and explain at times, but it's kind of hard to explain because you do like motherfuck, like you'll tear it,

you'll tear us down. But there's this there's this like bond I feel like that every player has with you and I've only played with you. Like people talk about me and the Raiders are me and like what was it like playing for Rich or what was it like when you were there? And I'm like, you, guys, gotta remember I wasn't there at that time. I've played thirteen games total, I think for the Raiders over the two years old.

Speaker 3

Was there?

Speaker 10

Yeah, but you've been around Adam Hayward. You play with me for a long time.

Speaker 1

But still it's still like, you know when you pat dud's on the chest and you talk about why you pat dudes on the chest you want to feel their heart and shit like you say some shit to where it's like it's like real, Like how do you think you're able to do that?

Speaker 10

We'll give it all my stuff out.

Speaker 2

We're trying to help people grow in their own life.

Speaker 12

Yeah, I'm I'm a firm believer that players want the truth. They want to know how we see it, so they can either disagree and have a professional conversation about it or they can go Okay, if that's what he's looking for, that's what I have to try to do. So and I think it's rare that I demean the person. I think I demean the act of the player and that

they can fix. So now I'm not saying I haven't gotten after guys on a personal level at times, but I think if I do that, I've probably built some form of a personal relationship with them as well.

Speaker 10

Before I do that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, the Johnny Carson comment radio show.

Speaker 1

When I would do something wrong, like I would be nervous the entire time it's happening. But I'm thinking, like, at least I know he's like kind of like joking with me.

Speaker 12

I feel well, I just didn't know about what I mean, I'll fuck up.

Speaker 3

Yeah, put that on.

Speaker 1

Your fucking radio show, Johnny Carson. I'm just sitting there and everybody's like laughing, and I'm like thinking, guys, please stop laughing, like this isn't helping and you can make money at this stuff. No, I think as you were talking to like I was thinking about, I'm thinking about certain situations where you obviously address stuff in front of everybody,

and you separate the act from the person. And then not only that, are you dressed in front of everybody, which is like probably at first everybody's like, damn, he's really ripping on me, like he's disrespecting me in front of people. But then after the meeting, when you'll coach the guy kind of in the same way but on a more personable level, and in front of maybe two or three guys, like you don't care who's standing there, you'll continue to be your same self and maybe get

on more of a personal level. And then even there, like guys, sometimes it's just a witness effect like, Okay, he's just like that. He's really trying to fucking coach this guy the right way and also like love him the right way as well, because everybody's a little bit different. But as you say that, I feel like those are moments that kind of shape that stage two be that open in front of everybody, well, special teams film. It's a little bit different than O and D.

Speaker 12

And I've been on both sides of the ball, but there's everybody sees it. You know, you can miss a block as an offensive lineman and you got two more downs to get it done. You can miss a tackle, you know, and I got two more chances to make a tackle. You get one play, right, It's a it's a defining play, kind of takes on a life of its own, and everybody sees it. So if you go by it, they're all like, you didn't go buy that

from me yesterday? Well why is he not? Why is he not saying anything in wilbur here?

Speaker 10

You know what I mean? Is he not say anything to hymns?

Speaker 12

So I think that you have to be honest with them and that tape so that you can they're all learning from that mistake because of the one play, if that makes any sense. And I only get him for a certain period of time, and they only have a

certain period of time in their career. And we're usually coaching guys that are you know, if they bring more than a toothbos to training camp, they're kidding themselves, right, you've been there, So trying to get him as good as you can, as quickly as you can, so they can play for as long as they can. I just think the more truths you can give them are more this is how I'm wanting to see it, the better chance they got to do it the way you're wanting to see it. But you can't go buy a mistake.

If you go buy a mistake, that's the new standard you set, right. If you're gonna set a standard, you got to hold him to the standard every time. And when the standard is upheld, you're like, that's it, that's it. But you might have made a mistake because now I know you can do it, so now you have to do it every time. But if you go buy one of your standards that you set as a standard, you go buy it, well, that's the new standard you set, right, And so now they're all going to play to that one.

So I want them to play to the highest standard they possibly can for themselves.

Speaker 2

Just give him a whistle, bro, Just give him a whistle.

Speaker 3

And do you just give it?

Speaker 1

When he got here, did you have I have one conversation Like I'm gonna give you a whistle and you just do your thing?

Speaker 3

Rich He's great, He's got the keys of the car man.

Speaker 11

Like, no, seriously, but like there's so much stuff that I've learned from him, you know, sitting in in those meetings. Not only from you know, a schematic standpoint or whatever it may be, but just this guy's got a lot of wisdom.

Speaker 3

Man.

Speaker 11

I mean, he's been doing it at a high level for a really long time. And he's authentic and that's that is everybody can see that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, having you both here, obviously, this question seems bigger than what it is, because I know it's just gonna be like you know, some some regular like it's.

Speaker 3

Gonna be more.

Speaker 2

It is what it is. But what do you guys think it takes for Green Bay to get over the hump?

Speaker 1

You come in, you've been here, you hire him, You come in, you sit back with them from kind of a different lens.

Speaker 3

Or a different angle that you might be able to give some.

Speaker 1

Fresh blood or fresh perspective, Like what do you guys sit back and think, like, all right, here's how he might hay some certain situations or times of the year this year, or like what's it going to take for green Bay to get over the home.

Speaker 11

I think for us, it's just like we talked about earlier. We can't make bad mistakes at those times. I mean, you've got to be on your game because the margin of error is so minuscule. You can't have, you know, a play before a half where we give up, you know, a touchdown pass to Tom Brady two years ago.

Speaker 3

We can't have a block punt. We can't have a block field goal.

Speaker 11

We can't you know, we can't have a fumble when we're driving. You just can't make those mistakes in those big time games. And I also think that there's a mentality to this too. You can't be afraid to go for it and understanding that, hey, you know what, we may fail. We may fail, but damn it, we're gonna We're going to give it our best shot. I think that that is more of a mentality that we're trying to get everybody, don't be afraid of making a mistake.

Really go for work, because if you don't, then you're probably not gonna get there.

Speaker 10

Anyways.

Speaker 12

Yeah, I think he's really good at that where he just said, he's really good at keep the pedal to the medal. Yet understand how we have to finish drives or how we have to finish before the end of the half, or I'm learning that for him, what a star process is that way. And I think the other thing he's done a great job of is whatever happens happened, don't you know, don't don't look in the rear of your mirror anymore. Let's keep our eyes going forward. Let's

see what today looks like. We get a little bit better today, let's see tomorrow looks like. And I think he's done a great job with the team with that, you know. And so I'm trying to get in where I fit in, you know what I mean. I just and you know, we got ReBs in news alandbacker coach and some guys got some new titles on offense. And it's a staff for me, This staff and coach will four of my conversation before he came here, and every day with him. To be honest with you, I'm kind

of you know, I'm re energized. I'm gonna the mecca of you know football, the Grace Italian of all time coached here.

Speaker 10

And want you know I get.

Speaker 12

I get to be with a staff that love football, they love being around each other. I've been a coach for the Foreshouse like three times, and all three times he's got an indoor basketball court.

Speaker 10

Not to call him out, but it's with.

Speaker 3

This little uh newsboy and had ons only when it's cold.

Speaker 10

It's cold, that is.

Speaker 12

I've been there three times and every kid in the neighborhood is over there playing. And within the first fifteen minutes of being over there, next thing, you know, the doorbell rings and his wife's ordered food. Breeze ordered food, and all these kids come up. They got their shirts are off, they're sweating, they're playing their rear ends off in there, and they're all eating. They got pizza, they got trying, they got everything in there, and I'm like,

Breeze this she goes. That's like all the time you want to use the pool, go used. I mean, I just feel like it's a there we are trying to build coaches trying to build a family community atmosphere within the building. And then I think the players are understanding the difference between that and what it is to have a brotherhood of men and to be accountable to your job and the guy next to you and in front

of your all those things. So I'm I'm enjoying them in the direction that he is and the way in which the staff competes and works with each other.

Speaker 10

It's it's it's been fun. I've been re energized.

Speaker 2

This is a dynamic.

Speaker 3

I love.

Speaker 2

I love all of this.

Speaker 1

Right now, you guys fucking going back and forth. I want to talk about coaching twelve because you've had the You've been around good quarterback You've been around great quarterbacks. You've been around Matt Ryan, You've been around who do you havent in Houston?

Speaker 10

Shop?

Speaker 3

I love Shop? Yeah, I mean you. He's one of the most underrated guys right right.

Speaker 1

But like people might hear that and be like, okay, well, well pump the breaks some great But you've been around a lot of like high level thinking quarterbacks that live in the details of everything. What separates Aaron Rodgers or how does he compare to all of the quarterbacks you've been around. Like when you sit back and you're like, because you're not you're labeled if you talk to coaches like you're labeled as like an offensive fucking minded detail,

Like how does he come up with certain shit? But when you sit back and watch twelve work, like, what is what has been different about him since you've got here?

Speaker 11

Well, first of all, he loves ball. He loves ball. He's got an unbelievable memory. He'll remember stuff fifteen years ago. Aaron Rodgers memory or Sean mcvay's memory. Gun to your head. Ooh, that is a tough one, Sean. I know, Sean's got a hell of a memory for the Barry trap of a memory. They're both, they're both up there. Who would you pick? You know, that's a great question. I'm gonna have to go with Aaron. Okay, I'm I'm gonna have

That's interesting. That's awesome to hear too, because you were talking about.

Speaker 3

Some like, man, I gotta support our players.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you got support your boy.

Speaker 11

But no, they're both extremely sharp and but now Aaron just he has a way of I think I was telling you this the other day.

Speaker 3

I feel like his his left side of.

Speaker 11

His brain and his right side of his brain wor operate independently of one another. He is the ultimate multitasker. He can be out on the field. He can be observing what's happening with with the defense. If there's seven guys in, I can be calling a play and he can almost be having a conversation all the same time. It's the damnedest thing I've ever seen. The best was a couple of years ago. We're playing Detroit.

Speaker 10

It was.

Speaker 11

It was it was the COVID year. So what was that twenty twenty? Yeah, and we're down.

Speaker 1

Hey, that's part of the Yeah, it's all right, I tell you, guys can really this is gonna be good stuff.

Speaker 10

Yeah.

Speaker 11

I can't wait for that conversation happening, but I'll never forget.

Speaker 3

So they showed an all out pressure.

Speaker 11

Look and I'm watching, you know, the play clock, and it's five four three, And mind you, he is talking to Tonyan. You get you're gonna have to ask him about this. He's having a conversation with Tony and I'm thinking, there's no way he's going to get this ball snapped. He's telling him what to do, and as the clock is hitting zero. He gets the ball snapped, and it was probably gonna be a walk in touchdown where Bobby blocks out and and then releases you know the old Uh.

I don't know, a great cover zero beater, but I don't think he's gonna get the playoffs. So I pop a time out right before the snap, and he's like, God damn it that.

Speaker 3

But I just you know, it's just just started ripping you.

Speaker 11

Like, No, it's a it's a great It was a great I guess lesson for me in terms of just trust that this guy, I mean, he's so aware of everything that's gonna go that that's going on, that he'll get the job done.

Speaker 2

It's the legendary What time is it? What time is it right now?

Speaker 10

All right?

Speaker 2

Cool? Yeah, No, this has been fucking awesome. That's an awesome story.

Speaker 1

Like, like, how does it like when he comes over and he's like, God damn it, Matt, is it like a my Like, is it like a fucking because you know, you know how the outside world to be too, just like some people be.

Speaker 3

I'll look at Coach Roger talking to Lafleur.

Speaker 1

No, no, we have that stuff all the time, all right, boys, I hope you're enjoying this episode.

Speaker 2

This last question comes to us from Roadback.

Speaker 1

Use Code Boys boys on roadback dot com for twenty percent off your first purchase. That's rho back dot com and use code Boys. They work with the best college athletes from Will Anderson to the Boy Michael Mayer and b Jean Robinson and have the best performance polos, q zips and hoodies.

Speaker 2

It's all that we wear.

Speaker 1

And for our guests today, we'd like to give them Rowback Performance hoodies on us. So I'll have to ship to Lafleur and Pasacia both individually. But this final question is brought to you by Roeback.

Speaker 3

How did you feel?

Speaker 1

Here's what I want to ask because I always tell this story when I was on the Raiders and the Titans came to town. We obviously lost to the Titans, and there was a ceremony after the game where I collected like in the fifteen jerseys, and we always talk about it because I always talk about how nervous I was going up into the locker room afterwards and the

whole next week. You kind of mentally and verbally had your with me to where I didn't feel like I was like you feel like you fuck up in that moment because we're in the bubble of playing ball.

Speaker 3

But I'm thinking, like I've I've like.

Speaker 2

This is these are relationships like this.

Speaker 1

Once we get outside of the season and a year gets your moves like this would be something I look at and be like this was fucking cool. But how much did you actually hate me during that time or like did you think anything different?

Speaker 10

I hates a strong word. I was really I was disappointed in you, and.

Speaker 3

It does it really, But I knew that it.

Speaker 12

Was in the moment. When it's over. Now, I may bring it back and pop at you if you know and then, but it was over. But at that time that's how I felt. So it's hard for me. If I feel something at a particular time, I'd rather not wait to let it out.

Speaker 10

I'm just gonna kind of.

Speaker 1

Jersey wants you go play for their fucking team, Like, oh my god, I'm sitting there ship.

Speaker 10

No, I don't remember them calling him. That's the point that we called them them.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because uh, it was always interesting with you because guys would be like called rich Fox with the other back guys, I'm like rich focks with me because there's a couple of people that we both know very well, and they probably, like you know, stamped my name for him.

But between the jersey thing, there'd be a couple of reps that I would I fucked up on, like and walk throughs or like my stuff would be serious and I would like mess something up because I'm either you know, I'm too locked in, I'm seeing too much, you know what I'm saying. But when he called me for the second time, or when he was like, why did you

go back to the Titans? Whenever I sign with the Titans, when the Raiders had an offer too, like when we kind of had our relationship beyond that first year, I was like, I didn't know Basachia fucked with me because I thought truth be told, I thought you didn't like me for the longest time, mostly because of that jersey debacle.

Speaker 12

Well i'd be along list of those guys that don't think I like them. But I called you again, didn't I? You did so again? For me, I just I can't wait to come to work, to be around the players. My three priorities in life for my wife, my kids, and the players. That's it. I don't have enough room in me, my makeup. I don't have enough room for all that other stuff. So the players that love it and their actions show that they love it. I love those players, and that's why I can't wait to come

to work in the morning. It doesn't matter what I'm coaching position, it's irrelevant. It's football. I get to do this for a living. My dad worked for a living. He had hands of sampaper. You know what I'm saying. I get to do this, and it's about players. Players make plays, right, So if I get to come to work and help a player make his dreams come to fruition, it's like wow. You know, that's what we're all looking to do. You know, that's the wow factor for us

to what we do for a living. That's the payback, you know what I mean. That's the payback to see those guys individually have personal success and then collectively in this sport. Now, you know baseball, you play all those games, you just go to bat and practice. You gonna play passive play, play all those game. They got to eat this stuff for seven days. Yeah, win a loss, right, And the difference Jason Witten taught me difference between a pat in the back and the kicking the ass is

six inches. Well, if you stay too long in that pat in the back, you're getting ready to get a kick in the ass. You stay too long in that kick in the ass, you know you may never get to pat in the back again.

Speaker 10

So it's just it's a matter of players.

Speaker 1

It's a lot to say that you love me, and I just want you to know I love you too. I appreciate you guys for coming on. Hey, and just no, I said this before, but this kind of vibe, this could be every day. I just want you to just keep that in mind. If you guys ever need a you ever need a right guard on punt, you ever need a backup linebacker, Like.

Speaker 10

Just know, once you read that story, how you got shit scared that I had to put your tackle. I'm up at a guard. It's because your legs are on this long.

Speaker 1

No, but when you're when you're on tackle. But when you're on tackle, you're on you know, you got to be quick now. Fortunately, like you know, my ability took over. But the most comfortable spot is the guard because you're probably going to get to release and go make a tackle first. When you're when you're a tackle, you have to spend a lot more time like blocking and fucking the tackles.

Speaker 10

You have to run better. That's why you're another reason you're better well.

Speaker 2

And I'm trying to get out fast.

Speaker 3

But you kind of shot me on that one too.

Speaker 1

But that tackle the whole fucking vibe like it wasn't until like Washington, I got to be I got to be on Pump Return. It wasn't until Tennessee with Ackerman and then Besadesa. They would just talk about my arms and I wouldn't even get a look on Pump Return, Like I wouldn't even it was like a water breaking.

Speaker 10

Hold anybody up, that's what you thought. You never tried me out like the Shaquille O'Neal of little people.

Speaker 2

I love you guys, man, I appreciate you guys coming on.

Speaker 1

We got to get the better on here, because I know we only got like probably eight minutes
