Large businesses are constantly talking to governments, but SME proprietors can find it too intimidating. Elaine Abery says that once data is collated and thoughts written down on paper, there’s nothing to stop smaller business owners from talking to departmental managers, who, she says, actually want to help businesses that are doing the right thing.
