The federal government is considering amending the definition of a ‘casual employee’. It’s not enough to offer and agree to casual employment for your staff if the manner in which the employee works doesn’t fit the definition. Janet Tan, a Senior Associate at Justitia Lawyers, says there could potentially be penalties if employees are misclassified.
