Business success seldom arrives overnight but 36 years in the game can teach a huge amount about what it really means to be successful. Brian Beesley has learned every step along the way and now stands tall in the cut and thrust of business life.   

These days, Brian knows what it takes to become successful. But that wasn’t the case decades ago when he gave up a safe career in teaching to try his hand at business. His first mistake was knowing nothing about running a business. His second mistake was timing – opening up a retail store at the height of tough economic times, with interest rates at 16 percent. What was he thinking?
