Episode description
What does it mean to Fail?
Join the Brews & Business Podcast to find out how business owners handle failures, with this episode you’ll learn about how similar business failures really are and how in the grand scheme of business, most entrepreneurs handle failing in a very similar fashion.
In this Episode, we touch base on ways to get more efficient in your business, but even more importantly, in your LIFE!!
It all comes down to planning your life! Creating more structure to your days and tasks completion!
We hear from Sooner Marketing's very own Bobby Elder, who seems to be making headway with automation and using certain apps to increase productivity, while not having to do each step yourself!
Bobby brings up a great tip to retroactively update the calendar to make sure he's able to accurately plan in the future based on previous weeks productivity!
BUZZZZ!! LOL
Stone provides a great strategy of building his weeks backwards due to his industry causing typical last minute changes earlier in the week! Planning from friday to monday!
Using apps like Zapier, Calendy, Quickbooks, and properly integrating them, allows SMS to automatically respond to reviews on both the good and bad reviews, as well as setting up booking and planning, instead of manually needing to get with customers to set appropriate times for booking, easily making certain slots available to customers and knowing that on the business end, we are on customer alert during those times!
Chance does a great job of explaining how a morning routine also helps create efficiency, due to focusing first on yourself, then giving yourself to others. Starting first with himself, and quickly and easily shifting to work in the routine.. As well as an evening routine, which can consist of getting ready for the next day as well as wrapping up from the day of things that didn't get addressed.
Stone shares his morning shuffle, to get his day ready, an all too familiar shuffle for the construction industry, which lead to burnout, helped him realize his morning routine which is focused on himself, helps keep him on track when something traumatic happens!
Bobby brings up a great question on how do we refocus when productivity isnt there.. And a rebounding answer, between all of us, is simple taking a break and focusing on something fun or outside of the work we are working on!
Some of you may be more reliant on other people's time, so how do you stay productive during that “wasted time?”
Another great automation Braedon mentions is putting your phone on work mode, or do not disturb mode to help keep productivity going!
Abel touches base on how his inbox and texts are basically at inbox zero. Keeping focus on the current tasks at hand.. Keeping his stress levels lower and paying attention to what's important!
We touch base on to-do lists, we all explain what they mean to us..
Braedon calls his a shit list, which he calls his rolling list of shit, which doesnt necessarily have any rhyme or reason, but basically just getting his thoughts out onto paper.
Stone has his notebook, which is his very important info, or more or less, If it makes money, it goes in the notebook.
Abel touches base on his list and how he likes to whiteout as tasks are completed
Sometimes its setting up the room or the workflow, coming from room temperature, drink option, or even just starting your day outdoors.. But even more important is creating a supportive, open, and honest environment between all members of your community. Bobby puts it quite simple on how to create this environment.. LISTENING!
Which may come down to listening to your team, and simply getting ice or buying them lunch.. When you listen to them, they go above and beyond for you!
Key takeaways!
Braedon- Concentrate on task, Shitlist, Calendar
Chance- use a calendar to schedule and manage yourself!
Stone- Prioritize your tasks!
Bobby- Automation!!
Abel- Say no to distractions!
