Orlando Ortiz is a fitness enthusiast who believes in movement as medicine. With that in mind, the goal is always to get a daily dose of DONE (Discipline Over Never-ending Excuses). He also focuses on ancestral eating, and marvels at how far we have strayed away from our original ways. As a result of his readings, he has gone from a ketogenic diet to a carnivore diet and has reaped remarkable rewards on many levels of fitness. Orlando has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and master’s degree in health education from Brooklyn College at the City University of New York. He has taught high school physical education and health at Leon M. Goldstein for over 25 years. Along with teaching, he has been the boys’ basketball coach for over 10 years. Just as strong as his passion for exercise is his passion for reading. In the last five years Orlando has read over one hundred books a year. His favorite topics are stoicism, psychology, exercise, nutrition, biographies, and any non-fiction books that happen to pique his interest. Orlando chooses to live life by intentionally and not by default, with the mindset of focusing on the WIN (What’s Important Now).
