Peter and the Apostles need to, and desire to focus on Prayer and Teaching the Word of God, exclusively. So, the Apostles lay hands on 7 people to lead the new body of believers in other day to day tasks. In comes Stephen. A man filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit. Not by might, nor by power...
Peter and the Apostles will not stop preaching the Good News, despite being arrested twice, and beaten. Count it all joy..
The number of believers in Jesus Christ is growing daily, and Peter is leading the charge. It is by the Holy Spirit, that the Apostles are able to move with such authority. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth...rise!
Peter commands a man crippled since birth, to get up and walk...and he does. Peter goes on to teach the people in the temple about who Jesus really is, and how it is by His authority he was able to heal this man. Rise up, and walk!
Peter steps up, as the leader of the Apostles, and preaches to the people who Jesus is, the one prophesied about, and what His ascension means to all who believes. Repent, and be baptized.
Continuing from the Gospel According to Luke, Jesus tells the disciples to wait for the promise from the Father, and then returns to Heaven in a cloud. In the meantime, the disciples pray and choose another Apostle, Matthias. The Comforter, the Advocate...the Spirit of Truth

The people have spoken, they chose Barrabbas the murderer to be freed, and Jesus to be crucified. He is hung next to two thieves. "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."
Jesus shares the "Last Supper" with the Apostles, and also shares His fate. Soon after, He is captured, and tried. "They will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"
Jesus speaks of end times...which, just so happen to be upon us. Don't be afraid...
The religious leaders are trying to set Jesus up...Jesus establishes His authority with wisdom from Heaven...and checks the hearts of both the religious leaders as well as the (future) readers of this account. Render to God the things that belong to God
Jesus wants us to repent, and become faithful servants. Well done...
Jesus reminds us that we cannot put money over God. God is after our a heart, and only a true repented heart for the Lord , is able to serve in the Kingdom. Jesus also speaks on His death.. but His disciples don’t understand. Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Jesus alludes to His second coming...and the fact that we should not be caught lacking. "Let's eat and drink for tomorrow we die"...no. Let's live by the Word, active with our faith, bold with our love, serving the Lord and our neighbor consciously and constantly.
Jesus tells us what true wealth is..and what happens if we place greater value in our wealth than our relationship with Him. You cannot serve two masters..
Jesus stresses the concept of repentance, and tells us that all of Heaven rejoices when we repent. He shares with us the famous "Prodigal's Son" story. How sweet the sound...
Another great chapter on the life of Jesus. The Master says it's ok to heal on the Sabbath day, and does so. He has compassion for the people. Jesus also gives an example of folks who come up with all types of excuses, and things they put before their relationship with the Lord. Take Up Your Cross
Jesus teaches us what the Kingdom of God is like...and then speaks of His death. And they shall scourge him , and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again
We must discern the times, and the things of the Spirit. Jesus does not want us to be idle, and to he/she who is given much..much will be required. Don't be a hypocrite.
Jesus starts out by teaching His disciples the super important practice of prayer. He's lead by example, now He explains it. Jesus also defends His authority, and calls out the hypocritical religious leaders. If we are not for Him, we are against Him.
Jesus sends out 72 more of His followers, and gives them the same power He gives us, to trample over the Devil and his workers. He also affirms that the most important things in life are to serve God and serve neighbor. Even the demons are subject to Him.
Jesus is transfigured, speaks on His death, and sends out His disciples to preach the Good News and heal the sick. God was intentional. It is finished.
Jesus casts out "Legion", heals a woman of a 12 year long sickness with one touch of faith, and also raises Jairus's daughter from death. Don't be afraid.
Jesus healing people left and right, but a great lesson from this chapter...your faith will heal you, and allow your sins to be forgiven. *Jesus does Miracle..."Praise God!"*
