On 23 August 1982, Pope St John Paul II announced his decision to erect Opus Dei as a Personal Prelature. It was a decision preceded by much prayer. The anniversary reminds us of the great value of a good stubbornness when it comes to prayer of petition. The virtue of stubbornness is also important in our effects to grow, with the help of God's grace, in holiness, that is in love of God and others. A meditation by Fr Tom Dowd.
