57 - Michael Ankers - Autistic University Student

Hello and Welcome to Season 11, Episode 10 of the TTHLC Podcast.

Today I am speaking with Michael Ankers who is nineteen years old from Chadderton in England.

He is a singer/ songwriter, Youtuber and has Autism and Low Muscle Tone.

Michael is currently in his first year at the University of Huddersfield studying Drama and we have a great discussion about his Autism diagnosis, the support he gets, including that from his very supportive family, the importance of having ND friends, seeking help when we need it, and the importance of finding things that you enjoy, such as listening to music.

Recently, Michael was in the music studio recording a song that is soon to be realised (on 17th May) called "Burden".

For autistics and parents of Autistics, this episode gives you certain tools and ideas you can use when you have young adults preparing for University and the experience of University Life.
