Dr. Karisse A Callender is an Assistant Professor, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC). As a clinician, Dr. Callender has worked with adolescents, adults, and families in outpatient and residential dual-diagnosis settings, and provided crisis counseling to individuals who experienced sexual violence.  She has specialized training in the assessment and treatment of trauma and substance use disorders and the use of cognitive and behavioral interventions. Her research interests include sexual violence, substance use, mindfulness, and single case research designs.  NB: We experienced technical difficulties while recording this episode.
